Trivial things that make you surly

When you're bidding a $1.35 million project, and the customer says, "We like your pricing, we like your prior work with us, etc. etc.  But we just aren't comfortable with XYZ sub.  Can you reprice to ABC sub that happens to be $175K higher?"

Then the customer comes back and says, "Um, we're in a budgetarily constrained environment.  What discounts can you offer us?"

When the jehovas witness housekeeper moves max and allie (our home’s two (yes 2) elfs on the shelf) while cleaning because testigos de jehovah don’t understand Christmas for shit, and then after a suck day at work I have to explain to my kids why even though someone broke the cardinal rule and touched the elves, we’re probably ok and the magic is intact.

dammit.

Dumb bitch hit my car and now it’s in the shop for at least two weeks. Luckily she was insured and is paying for a rental car but now I have to carry this bulky ass bullshit in my pocket for the next two weeks.

Your will love retirement, with no business mileage status to prop up your sense of worth.  The comedown is healthy, at least I keep telling myself that.

yer supposed to build lifetime status during your working years.  or buy premium tickets.

That is me, not because I can't and I will do a reverse into the spot if someone is waiting. Rather, if no one is around my OCD takes over for a perfect parking job.

Don't want to end up on the parking asshole thread.

defensive players flexing their muscles after EVERY tackle is tiresome.

5 yards behind the LOS: flex 'em

at the LOS: pump 'em up

37 yards down field after a lucky shoestring tackle: full body flex to the point of aneurysm.

Adding on, guys who make the throw the flag gesture after getting defensed on a pass, and guys who celebrate like they won the Super Bowl after a first down play.

Oh, and Oklahoma and USC having their band play their fanfare after every frikkin play.

Teams that ring a bell whenever the other team has a third down.

Yep, act like you've been there and done that before.

Counterpoint: LHB which plays our fanfare after the D gives up 8 yards on first down

Again, you show your ass. HE was going to baggage claim to get his bag. WE did carry ons and passed by him to go out to leave in an Uber.  That was the whole point of my post. HE was trying to quickly get off to then wait around for a bit to get a bag. But nice try on your gotcha post. Was coming home from DC and Philly. You would've hated it. There's lots of minorities up there.

Probably had to take a shit

As a fan, when my team does something big and acts all no big deal, all day every day, I fucking love it.

When the other team does it, I fucking hate it.

I'm not bothered by celebration of big plays, but agree on the bullshit, hey, a tackle after a 5 yard gain and first down celebration... Fuck that.

Acting calm, no fucks given that we just sacked you for a 15 yard lost, or calm as fuck after an interception... Full wood.

Yeah, a big play a little celebration is cool, but today players celebrate like they won the lottery after tackling a guy who caught a 15 yd pass, and they got burned on the caught pass.

Meh, they did it back then too and just as much.  The reason we talk about guys like Earl and Ricky being cool and calm when they score is because guys like that have always been the exception.  Some of the greatest and most animated touchdown celebrations were from decades ago.

Edit - in fact at the college level where emotion plays a much bigger factor were I a head coach I'd deploy this a strategy.
You'd have to use it sparingly. Big games only, rival and bowls type deal.
Then not the full game and switching. So nobody could easily pick up on it and reviewing film wouldn't make it easy to see or determine.
2nd quarter vs ousux, Defense all day every day every play. No celebration for any play the entire 2nd.
3rd quarter offense, big play every day. No offense celebration on any big plays.
Mix it up like that would get in the minds of the opposing team, and fans to an extent.
Yeah .. of course I'll never be a head coach and this would never happen, but there it is.
Y'all are the people who want sports to be boring as shit with no celebrating or having fun. It's a game. It isn't serious. Heaven forbid they enjoy what they are doing and show it. But middle aged white men on the couch get triggered by young men having fun playing a sport. Get off my lawn!

Yep, it's a subliminal gut punch. I probably started loving it because of Earl. In fact, I'm sure I did.

I recall Ricky being this way too after learning about it from Earl.

Real men don't celebrate, it's all in a day's work.

It's not work, it's a fucking game, played for entertainment of crowds.  Would you tell Garth Brooks to just come out and play a guitar in a chair?  Players can do whatever fits their personalities, like other entertainers.  Barry Sanders and I guess Earl were not celebration guys.  Others are, and it's fine, and I'm glad the NFL finally loosened up.

That said, the quality and timing of celebrations are open to criticism.  I agree it's dumb as fuck to celebrate after tackling a guy after a 20 yard gain, or celebrating when the ref makes a call elsewhere on the field.  And some celebrations suck.  "Feed me" sucks, I wish he'd come up with something else.
