Trivial things that make you surly

I have one of those roomba vacuum cleaners. It does a good job. But about every 60 to 90 days it makes me reaffirm my email and password.

WHY? I doubt there will be a rogue house cleaner hacker wanting to clean the shit out of my place. I simply want to press a button and it clean.

Some apps and their security need to stand down with what they feel is important.

People who can't open their regarded mouths to say excuse me when they need to get around you and just blankly stare at you as if you must read their minds. Had this tonight when we were getting up to leave a restaurant. My daughter was collecting her book and putting on her jacket when this mouthbreather just stood behind her for about 20 seconds even though there was room to go around her. So instead, I tell my daughter to scoot over so this dipshit female can get around. I should've just said nothing and stared at her dumbass.

The people that come into my restaurant make me surly. They’re all clueless idiots who can’t figure out how to walk out the door without getting all in each other’s way and then staring at each other like they’re going to throw down. I keep a sawed off shot gun behind the counter for when it starts.

People who aren’t aware enough of their surroundings to know when someone else would like to get through without having to be told.  Wife and I had this tonight at dinner.  Some fucking guy and his daughter  taking forever to get their shit together, clueless that we wanted to get by.  Finally the dumb fuck realizes there are other people in a public space outside of just him and his daughter and tells her to scoot over.  Apparently he needed it spelled out in crayon for him.

Well if you weren't so fucking fat you could've got around us pretty easily.

People are the worst. Thoughts and prayers. Google review, Yelp, do whatever so this doesn't happen to any of us.

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel the same way about password strength in general. Pluckers and Best Buy require stronger passwords than ETrade, Fidelity, or USAA...which means free apps and $10 reward cards are harder to hack (and remember) than every dollar to my name.

Open plan offices. Not-so-trivial -- I used to work in one and my deskmate was this big fat Cajun kid who would roll in at about 11 and then eat his lunch at his desk. There would then proceed a series of slurps, lip-smacks, munches and crunches that just set me on fire, every single fucking day. Eventually the whole office caught on and we were all just so fucking grossed out I went to our weak-ass boss, and he told me it was our problem, not his. (He didn't have to hear it.) This dude could drink a Coke and make it sound like he was a porn star giving a blow job, and I was right in the line of fire. It made work impossible.

Be the kind of employee that your boss would never tell you, “ Just handle it.”

They should be mortified at that very premise.

It’s gonna get much worse for you because open floor plan offices are the wave of the future as are large southerners who eat like garbage disposals.

Nah. Virtual offices are the next big thing. Why pay to have offices buildings in every time zone, when you can pay much less to have a server farm and a bunch of work-from-home folk who have to pay for their own internet access?

Why do the dumbest, slowest, laziest, most oblivious and easily distracted sloths gravitate to the self-checkout machines?

Stores need to restrict those to some equivalent of TSA Precheck.  Most of those selfish morons would be too cheap to pay the fee, and the rest could be weeded out after the first time by some sort of metrics (must average less than X seconds per item scanned.)

Worst form of an office layout there is. The noise created by your fellow co workers decreases individual productivity by ass much as 30 % according to an NPR report I heard recently.

The worst are people with a full cart of groceries. It takes them much longer than the employees who do it for a living and that includes the line they'd have to wait in.

Many of the products containing pseudoephedrine are still OTC but kept behind the counter for theft reasons. You might try asking at the counter.

Having to produce your DL and interact with a pharmacist to get good cold meds.

Grocery stores have offloaded lazy, slow cashiers and shifted the lazy burden over to consumers with the self-checkout machines. I don't even bother with one unless there's no wait or I only have a few items. The thing I'll never get is the person who has 1 or 2 things and waits behind me with my full cart going through a checker line when the self-checks are open and empty.

Only use self checkout if having a couple of items, otherwise I go with a cashier.  #savepeoplesjobs

If it's busy I'll go thru the self check w/ a whole cart of groceries (not often I'm buying a whole cart except at holidays and for parties). I can go thru the line as quick as a cashier...

Pharmacist in AR wouldn't let my colleague buy pseudoephedrine because he had an out of state (TX) drivers license.   He's a cranky old bastard anyway and was not happy he couldn't get the good stuff

Every self check I've seen has less space on the platform than the shopping cart. So eventually, I run out of room on the platform and I can't start putting the bags in my cart, lest I get the "Please return items to the loading area" message. And if you try to skip bagging, it stops you and you have to wait for Jethro or Lurleen to come over and type in their secret code. So I save the self check for when I only have 2 or 3 things.

That's all by design so people will take the hint that self check isn't for full carts.

Kroger s a  lazy Susan that allows for at least four plastic bags of groceries so a really full cart will probably not work, but I can make a lot for in those bags then Transfer to the cart, and still probably piss somebody off behind me. Not gonna be outsmarted by a check out stand .  No sireebobdixie ........

real surly is 16 items in the 15 item line by some mouth breather .

I was getting collection calls to my cell phone for some chick in Houston who was behind on her gym membership. I'm in Dallas. They would leave messages even though my cell phone has a message with my name and company on it. I called the number and never got ahold of anyone other than a message that would never take me to a person to speak with about it. I picked up once when they called and explained to them that I wasn't whatever her name was, I had no idea who she was, and I've had this cell phone number since 2000 so it's obvious that she put a fake number down. I asked them to make a note in their records that I am not her. I asked what's the address they have on file for her and they wouldn't tell me. I even gave them my address so they knew I was not this lady or covering for this lady. They said they would take me off their list and I shouldn't get anymore calls. Two weeks later...they call back asking for the same chick again.

One of our family highlights was several years ago, in front of the British Museum. A gaggle of 10 French teenage girls and their chaperone were blocking the entire entrance to the museum while they yammered. I did the throat clear. Nothing. I then walk right up to them, yelled “MOVEZ VOUS!” in my best ugly American. It worked. They scattered. I had fun. Man that pisses me off.

Hopefully in a very heavily affected southern twang.
