I don’t disagree, but again, not made for us. Every generation thinks the majority not the next generations music is dumb. It’s one of the first signs of knowing that you’re getting older lol.

That's not true. I don't listen to any of this and it sounds horrible but there's a ton of new music that I like. A lot the new alternative is good stuff. It's just this new style of rap that's annoying.

It's not about generations anymore like it was before. Every generation from 1950s with Elvis/blues and outlaw country until the late 90s/early 2000s wAs about getting harder and more edgy to piss off the parents. Us gen x generation people are the first ones where the kids can't get any harder or edgier than we did. It's impossible. We took it to the max. Nothing these little rappers today can do can top Geto Boys, NWA, etc for pure aggressive shock and awe.

Now it's just about genres and styles which the internet fueling a big explosion in new music in all different styles. Hell, look at new bands like Whisky Meyer and Greta Van Fleet who make new music today in the style of 70s rock. It's a great time for new music no matter what genres you like because you mostly can find new stuff.

I was specifically talking about rap. Every generation thinks the next generation of rap sucks. I didn’t word that the right way.

From 1950 to 2005 you could say the exact thing about rock, country, pop, etc. Rap is no different. You can still find solid rap in the vein of Nas, Most Def, Talib Kweli, etc. if you know where to look. Just like you can find new punk and new British style new wave if you know where to look too. Hell, because of the internet you can find Russians doing Chicago and Dutch kids doing Mexican cumbias and bachata music too.

The one thing I wish would really take hold again is more old school west coast Gfunk style rap. That shit was fun and grooved. By far my favorite style of rap ever.

This is fucking silly. I get it, majority of the Shag hates rap and usually makes fun of these deaths. Try doing the same when these rock musicians off themselves and people will cry about it only because it's musicians of their preferred music.

Bu you damn right rappers are musicians even by the most basic definition of what a musician is. How are they not? Care to explain? Don't tell me you think the music sucks and they aren't talented. I think the same thing about many genres but won't question their musician status. Vocals and harmony are *apart of music. Nothing different than rock vocalists.

That word does not mean what you think it means

I made it 1:26.

What kind of buzz does sizzurp give a person anyway?

Well done - seriously.

I believe it is like a speedball of yesteryear -

Speedball (drug) is a mixture of cocaine (a stimulant) with heroin or morphine (a depressant ), taken intravenously or by insufflation. Speedball is a dangerous mixture, often more potent than the sum of the parts due to drug synergy

Made my first trek to WinStar in OK to see Jerry Seinfeld this past Saturday and there is an Orange Julius in the casino. I couldn't believe it. Kicking myself for forgetting to go back by and get one on our way back to civilization.

I have good news for you and Deej.  You can now get an Orange Julius at DQ.

Speedballs did him in?  Jerry Garcia did them for 30 years and wrote 100 songs that changed the course of history and I doubt many of you know who he is.  Juice World did it 3 times and wrote 10 songs nobody will ever remember.

I thought Jerry microdosed on hallucinogens to make his music - wow. Learned something new. Makes a bit more sense now.

Juice WRLD will not be remembered like Jerry, but he was important for a short period of time for a select group of Zoomers/Gen. Alpha.

I only brought it up because it was mentioned before we posted that "Speedballs" did him in.  I can only assume the drugs on today's music scene are wildly different than they were 30 years ago, or even 10 years ago.
