the game will sell out instantly.  texas has a huge fanbase that either never stepped foot on the 40 or only has a tangential attachment to the brand, and they don't know fuckall about the surl, who cdc is, or therm's love for love and ravioli.  every time we play in san antonio it's been a huge party.  it's new years.   it's texas.   drink up.

Bastard, you leave my old shriveled genitals out of this.

It's Texas, they will be plenty motivated.

Yeah, it's nice to sit there with the "we're everybody's big game" mantra, but playing bad name teams in sh*tty bowls isn't a sure fire way to motivate human beings. They could come out flat or not, and it probably has nothing to do with a fantasy of beating up on the orange and white.

So what you're saying is...they might not want to be there?

Memes/jokes aside, this should be an easy W for Texas. Utah isn't very good at all. They haven't beaten a good team all year, and none of their players will care about playing in the Alamo Bowl.

and ours will?

Some of y’all need to quit being pussies, you’re not going to watch your team play the #11 ranked team in a bowl game?!  I know it’s been frustrating but Orlando won’t be there to rush 6 on 3rd and 18, I say we win and it’s going to fun to watch.

Not shit. Some people on here are as bad as Star Wars fans. They say they love it, but spend more time complaining about it.

Utah is probably the only team that spent significant time in the top 10 that Texas has a puncher’s chance against.

They run a ball control, run-heavy offense. Good RB but not going to beat you with speed. Conservative offensive play calling.

Texas wins 27-24

I like your prediction, but Texas only lost by 7 to #1 and #4.  #7 was a convincing loss, but still only 14.

Crazy to think that the line between a possible CFB playoff berth and the Alamo bowl really is that thin.

Remember KSU losing that Big 12 game to aggy.  Meant instead of playing in the BCS title game, they played Purdue in San Antonio.

The Alamo Bowl is not a lower tier bowl anymore. Not sure why people don't get that. It gets top choice after NY6, it has the second highest payout of any non-NY6 bowl, it has a good time slot.

Things have changed.

Yep, the Texas Bowl today is basically what the Alamo bowl was from the original Big 12 bowl affiliations. The Alamo bowl today is the Cotton Bowl from that time period.

Sugar is the same tier as the Fiesta was prior to realignment

Alamo is same tier as Cotton was prior to realignment

Camping World is same tier as Holiday was prior to realignment

Texas is same tier Alamo was prior to realignment

The bowl sounds shitty for us because it's in San Antonio.

29 year and 3 missed home games during that time.

Made most of the bowl games.

No interest in spending more money to hang out in San Antonio for new years just to watch the Longhorns lose.

If that qualifies me as fair weather and a realist, so fucking be it.

To each his own.
