Donald Trump 2020

You know the big pussy was responding to this:

"Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei 's official website carried the following statement on Wednesday January 1, responding to American warnings by adding Trump's name in brackets to make the message clearer: "That guy [Donald Trump] has tweeted that we see Iran responsible for the events in Baghdad and we will respond to Iran. First, there is no damn thing you can do..."

Listening to XM tonight on the road, I'll note that Fox News applauded the assassination as long overdue, applauded by US troops, and sure to save thousands of lives. MSNBC literally equated it with US invasion of Iraq and warned of WWIII.

I assume the truth is closer to the later and predict that markets do not respond kindly tomorrow.

It's interesting to me that the last two major military actions in the Middle East (with a possible third one underway) have been facilitated by Presidents from the party that calls itself Pro Life.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal on Suleimani.  This is a good read:

https://foreignpolicy.com/gt-essay/irans-deadly-puppet-master-qassem-suleimani/

The damage to Iran with his death is no doubt severe.

His staunch defense of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has effectively halted any progress by the Islamic State and other rebel groups

Huh? What evidence is there of that? Does that include actions taken with the assistance of U.S. special forces?

I'm also hearing allegations on CBS News that he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans. I'd like to know who, when, and where. Americans in Iraq have been advancing the interests of the Shi'ites over the Sunnis and it's been my understanding that the latter were responsible for the overwhelming majority of Anerican deaths in Iraq. That article mentions him supplying IEDs used against American troops in Iraq. Really? That's the first I've heard about that. Other than just trying to kill Americans as a matter of principle, I'm not sure what the goal there would be. He mentions that it was 2007 so maybe it was to help convince the Americans to leave? I thought the Iraqis handled that well enough with the Status of Forces Agreement signed in 2008 that required the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

I'm going to need a better explanation of exactly how he's responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

to be fair to Eric Trump, "About to open a big ol' can of whoop ass" is just what he tweets after he pops a cialis and cracks open a Monster Energy drink so he can go a few rounds in the sack with Lara since he seems to have inherited his father's complete lack of sexual prowess.

I know the DNC is in a heated primary right now, but they're insane if they or Bloomberg doesn't just take that 17 seconds of Trump saying "The President" will start a war with Iran to get reelected.  It's too perfect, you don't have to edit out "Obama" because he never uses his name---he just says "The President"  Just play that on televison and youtube a couple times a day over the next week and then again in November (if the war hasn't come to our shores).

So the guy who lied about Muslims celebrating in Jersey City after 9/11, the Bowling Green massacre, windmill cancer, and the weather is now supposed to be trustworthy about reasons for war?  Why should anyone believe anything the WH says? Which is why we're truly fucked.

fuck yall i don't even know

sure trump ordered this state sanctioned murder. i don't know about this guy. but someone briefed trump on this guy. trump wanted a guy to murder, and someone found this guy and presented the opportunity to trump. the pentagon may be distancing themselves from the assassination, but someone there was a person who whispered the thing into the universe of trump.

i'm just sick to my stomach and kind of depressed. we are at the point to where our fates are up to the whims of a madman. or, more precisely, mad men, which is really all that remains of the cabinet of the president of the united states. pompeo, kush, miller, and trump.

fuck me and fuck us.

I don't fully understand how this guy was a threat to us, and how taking him out has diminished that threat. It could very well just be Next Guy Up in his group and now they're even more angry at us.  The goal of diplomacy should be to avoid conflict and we seem to be seeking it out. I don't know if we have made any good faith or legitimate offers to Iran since Trump took office.

It's not difficult to envision Trump ordering a murder of someone to make himself look tough. And his base will eat it up.

Good for him. All who support a war with Iran should be lining up to do the same. It's much better than celebrating the men who do so and then ignoring the needs of those men when they return home. The chicken hawks only like the vicarious thrill of combat; they've no time or empathy for what it costs the real soldier.

I did look this guy up on google. Says he's a "fraudster" and general right wing grifter. My bet is that he has some condition that will prevent the Army from accepting his enlistment. It would be amusing if he were wrong about the defect, and the Army took him anyway.

I do buhlieve Lindsey is gettin' the vapors . . . "if you want more, you will get more".

I could kill this fuckers for rabble rousing with tough talk.

We celebrate blasting the leader of an organization because that's what we're best at. We've dealt a blow! This will deter them! Thing is, these assassinations don't seem to change much of anything. I'm fine with killing the leader of an organization that threatens the US. I'm not fine with acting like such actions are more important strategically than they are.

We're fighting hydras not snakes.

Rumsfeld was so right about the lack of a metric for determining if our policies were harming or helping our opponents. These high profile assassinations (purely defensive harrumph harrumph! Let's not forget who the good guys are in our simplistic little minds!) are something like the weekly casualty reports from Viet Nam. See? See? We're winning because we're killing more of them than they are of us!

Again, our cynical leaders cast us as the liberators of Paris fomenting a widespread reform in Iran. Our short memories don't hold the fact that an earlier American assassination of an elected leader of Iran plunged that country into the hands of an oppressive autocrat king.

I'm reminded of Apocalypse Now where the Americans hose a sampan with heavy machine gun fire wrongly thinking a girl was reaching for gun. One person on the boat is still barely alive and the Americans become saviors at the turn of a short moment. We're not killing them in droves! We're saving them! Outstanding metaphor scene.

Besides the already-mentioned MBS, Jared, and Pompeo, I’m putting this on Brian Kilmeade.    I think he had something to do with it.   I just know it.   Mainly MBS, Jared, and Pompeo   This sounds like something they would cook up    But Kilmeade had a part

I am still trying to figure who the "thousands" of Americans this guy killed were.

Seems like we would have heard of him before now.

Educate yourself!  You probably don't even remember the Bowling Green Massacre!
