OU Recruiting 2021: David Boren's Fondle Force

Recommended Posts

So Howard and Haselwood are potentially out vs Texas with injuries, and Bridges potentially out with a suspension. Still have Rambo and Wease, but that's not nearly as potent

better evaluations of players over the last couple of years. They've gotten in early on at least 3 players who they eventually lost to others (Manning-Oregon, Watts-Ohio St, Dunn-Ohio St). If Motley gets picked by Day 2 and OU does well on defense this year, they'll start keeping some of these good early evals.

It's good to dream big.

-Everybody cheats. It's a matter of degree. Ohio St and Clemson have probably upped the ante to be able to compete with the SEC superpowers (Bama, GA, LSU, FL). Expect FSU and Miami to join them. - Ohio St's draw is undeniable for DBs. Their DB coach is a good recruiter and developer.  - OU appears to be doing better evaluations of players over the last couple of years. Truly is comical if anyone though Motley was going on day 2.  I mean, to me and most people that watched his ass, it would be a huge stretch to draft him at all.

What's the confidence level on the OU side for Wheaton?

Also, thought they were getting Sturdivant at WR?

" think SMU is real for Wheaton, and so is Texas. Just think Murray wins out in the end."

I'm wondering if he's thinking that Sturdivant will follow Nussmeier to LSU. Or maybe he's not thinking? I think Sturdivant is the next best WR after the Earle/Quay/maybe Banks group.

Not trying to be doom-and-gloom but I wouldn't be surprised if Foster has already given OU a verbal. Roach (or one of the other 9.95ers) had Milroe on his podcast recently and Milroe made no mention of him actively recruiting Foster. Seemed like an odd omission since Milroe had always mentioned pushing him hard in past interviews.

I'm having a hard time believing that - despite his red-ass mother - that Foster winds up a school whose track and field program is so lame.  If a compromise school is his destiny, surely it will be for a strong throwing program.

Oh, yeah, I'm not optimistic about getting him (whether he chooses OU or someone else).  Too bad.

Bless you for not having known that many aggies. They'd rather burn it down than compromise with anything that has to do with daddy.

Per his mom he has not committed in any way to anyone, and was amused by all the OU crystal balls after his impromptu visit to Norman.

I think OU has a slight lead, but UT, TAMU, and Oregon still right there. LSU not so much now.

If blowu is truly in the mix for Foster, his throwing career and Olympic aspirations are definitely secondary to him.

OU and Oregon are recruiting him hard as a thrower - track coaches on calls with football coaches.

Texas and TAMU - not so much. More reluctantly agreeing to track time off.

Get the feeling it would be Oregon by a mile if distance was not a factor. Excellent track program and he has always been a fan of the football program.

Foster should talk to Texas shot put  national champion Tripp Piperi if he’s serious about throwing. 4th Longhorn to win a shot put championship in the last several years.  Had a good shot at Olympic team.

He’s the latest in a long line of greats, including two Longhorn Olympic gold medalists in Ryan Crouser and Michelle Carter.

Yeah man, he knows all about our throwing. He either doesn’t care or Herman is being a dick about it.

247 lists him at 215 pounds but he was 187 at the Opening. His dad is a coach there at Foundation and a dickbag.

Posters on dirtburglers didn't seem thrilled.  Said the film showed a big hitter, bit kinda, slow.

If he's slow at 187 pounds, he's not going to get magically faster while adding 35 pounds.

I like this pickup for the Sooners.

One of the more athletic-second level defenders in the the country. Very physical football player, quickness, awareness, balance, power, tone-setter type player.

I think you'll ultimately see him rise in our LB rankings.

Ahahaha the Okies jumped on the Mecca quote too (to reiterate, non-Muslims aren't allowed in the city, so it's probably a Muslim school group thing, not a special team trip or whatever)

Trips to Mecca are the religious version of F250s. Any Catholics on the roster? Maybe a bag man can get them to Vatican City and meet the Pope.

OU seems pretty confident in landing Caleb Williams, and they won't take a second QB (Dematrius Davis). It'll be interesting to see if he can bring some DMV kids with him.

Here are the kids he might try to bring with him

https://247sports.com/Player/Tommy-Akingbesote-46099268/

https://247sports.com/player/malcolm-johnson-jr-46041297/

https://247sports.com/Player/Jalil-Farooq-46043168/

https://247sports.com/Player/Kelvin-Gilliam-46076864/

https://247sports.com/Player/Monkell-Goodwine-46051877/

https://247sports.com/Player/Ryan-Barnes-46097233/

https://247sports.com/Player/Khyree-Jackson-46083779/

https://247sports.com/Player/Daymon-David-46100257/

Also, two Florida WRs are OU leans who I think Caleb has been recruiting behind the scenes

https://247sports.com/Player/Christian-Leary-46082014/

https://247sports.com/Player/Mario-Williams-46058910/

The two DMV and two Florida WRs are probably why Sturdivant isn't being mocked into OU classes. Also, there's a chance he won't make into LSU's class. Those were the two who I thought were the favorites. Why haven't we offered him again?

WR recruiting has been oddly quiet outside of a couple of Louisiana offers. I know Coleman isn't supposed to be a recruiting wizard, but he probably does need to offer some people with Jojo and Quay off the board for various reasons.

I'd offer Sturdivant and Henry. The Michael Jackson Jr offer was a good one too. I'd also continue to recruit JoJo and save a spot for him if he's reciprocating interest. He was pressured to commit before he even visited.
