24 have been played against Top 25 teams. he's won 17 of those games

This is like when you beat #24 State, #22 Miss, and #25 aggy, all brought up in the rank the week or so before the game.  Yeah, great stat.

but when you look closer at LSU's record against Top 10 opponents, Coach O is 12-3 in games...including 8 straight dating back to the UCF game last year.

This on the other hand, is pretty damn impressive.  Especially from a group that lost to Troy not so long ago.

that's a fair point, and to add to that, he's 9-0 against top 10 teams not named Alabama.

so you can see why that particular game was...and will continue to be...so important to him and LSU as a program.

A video has surfaced on social media of former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. appearing to hand out cash to LSU players moments after the national championship game against Clemson on Monday night.

An LSU athletic official told The Advocate the money was not real.

Junior wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Jontre Kirklin were in the video that surfaced Tuesday morning.

You should see the shit they do when they don't get caught.  The legacy SEC and their fans are dirty as fuck.  Not even aggy can compete in dirtiness.

erroneous.  aggy is an all-timer just like lsu, auburn, etc... they are just way dumber and get caught more than most of those teams.  tamu has 7 major violations, tying them for fifth all time.  same number as baylor, auburn, georgia, south carolina, and a few other choice teams.  but of course, they will always be behind one of the all-time greatest cheating mother fuckers - the oklahoma sooners who have 8.

in terms of aggregate major violations, the rankings are clear:

1. sec (75)

2. pac 12 (60)

3. aac (55)

4. big 10 (54)

5. big 12 (53) - major contributions from ou, baylor, and west virginia.

and the agros have gotten such a small roi on that cheating is what makes it amusing.

although, an argument could be made that our four major infractions were pretty incompetent as well.  the only institutional control slap we got was in 87 when we were really, really shitty.

2002 improper volunteer baseball coach seemed to pay off with a national championship.

1982 improper ticket/recruiting inducement would have been for recruits that made an impact after 83 while wandering in the desert for a decade.

1965 was pretty low hanging fruit.  one of our better decades though.

ou, on the other hand, is absolutely amazing at cheating.  their bud wilkinson run in the 50's was mired with two major violations that coincided with their three national championships from the time.  their 74 and 75 championships were preceded by a 73 slap including:

Extra benefits; improper recruiting inducements; lodging, publicity and transportation; tryouts; excessive number of official visits; excessive time for official visits; academic fraud; eligibility; unethical conduct.

and the 1985 championship was quickly followed up with:

Improper transportation; extra benefits; complimentary tickets; improper recruiting contacts, employment, entertainment, inducements and transportation; unethical conduct; outside fund; institutional control; certification of compliance.

big red in 2007 was the only one that didn't pay off...though they did win three straight big 12 championships at the time (illegitimately in 2008).

To be fair, it probably helps that the Big 12 doesn't have to include the SWC days.

Sure they do...to the extent that swc teams like Texas are in the big 12, those are being counted. All of the Texas football violations are from the swc. We can’t help it if we shed ourselves of the aggies, smu, and arky’s shenanigans. We absorbed ou, Kansas, kstate, and okie state’s rich histories of cheating so it is a pretty fair outcome.

I don’t know that Clemson coulda gotten a timely stop but damn if the Clemson OC didn’t shit the bed... Clemson had a 70% success rate running the ball, and etienne got one carry after his TD run with 10 min left in the 3rd in a 2 score game. Unreal how poor of a game they called offensively.

I'm super impressed by his willingness to try something different even if it was counter to his every instinct as a football coach. His humility and willingness to delegate is completely antithetical to the way Texas football is run currently.

Antithetical to the way 98% of all football is currently run.

everything about clemson's offense was disastrous last night and i just refuse to attribute too much of that to lsu's defense.  i do not believe lsu's defense to be all that good but lawrence was the worst i have ever seen him, the wrs even had some drops, and that lack of utilization of etienne was dumbfounding.  i suppose it is possible that arranda was able to whack them out somehow but it just seemed like they were going full tard no matter what.

What LSU has is athletes unlike any that Clemson faced all year until the CFP and Ohio State. Lawrence hadn't had to play at that level. LSU had to play at that level a lot this season. It mattered.

i do very much agree with this sentiment.  lsu had one of the all-time toughest roads to this achievement.  clemson's would have been one of the all-time easiest.

Dickerson was funny on that ESPN 30/30 on SMU.  Said another school did the same thing as SMU but wasn't nearly as successful.  Story is A&M gave him a Trans Am and he kept it despite going to SMU.

Watching some highlights today and man #8 in the Clemson secondary got absolutely lit up all night.  Difference in the game seemed to be LSU adjusted to the 3-1-7 after a quarter by just having Burrow bail out up the middle as needed and Clemson never warmed to the fact that it was an off night for TL.  He was missing badly.

That and they kept getting killed on slants.

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow appears to have contradicted the school's claim that Odell Beckham Jr. was handing out fake money to Tigers players after Monday's College Football Playoff Championship Game.

Appearing on the Pardon My Take podcast (h/t Brian Fonseca of NJ.com), Burrow said the Cleveland Browns wide receiver was handing out real money on the field.

After video footage of Beckham passing out cash was captured on social media, an LSU athletic official told Brooks Kubena of The Advocate that the money wasn't real.

Kubena added the school is still investigating the situation because there were novelty bills on the field during the team's celebration, but it was unclear if Beckham was using those.

You should copyright this before A&M steals it and puts it on T-shirts and cups and shit.

Yes, we're supposed to believe that an NFL player took monopoly money to a football game so that he could hand it out on the field after his team won.

to be fair, as a lie/alibi, that might be the most clever thing anyone from Louisiana has come up with in the last hundred years

it's a low, low, low bar

I'd say it's neck and neck with air conditioner anecdotes.

Burrow said on the podcast that he's "not a student-athlete anymore, so I can say yeah" when asked if Beckham gave him money.

Looks like Burrow didn’t really like LSU all that much or at least he’s willing to throw them under the bus. Wonder what else he knows?

He knows the NCAA won't do shit that jeopardizes their oversight of top shelf football.  The day they piss off the major schools is the day they form their own league and the NCAA is left overseeing NCAA bowling and meat judging.
