Kansas/Kansas St Brawl

As Kansas started dribbling out the clock while holding a 22-point lead in the final seconds, Kansas State’s DaJuan Gordon stole the ball and started dribbling down the court in an effort to secure one last layup.

Kansas’ Silvio De Sousa, however, sprinted behind Gordon and came up with a massive block as he attempted the layup, sending Gordon down into the baseline.

Almost instantly, both teams swarmed the scene on the baseline, which sparked the wild brawl that spilled down into the crowd and media section underneath the basket. Several punches were thrown in the incident, and De Sousa even picked up a chair at one point, though it was taken away from him before he could do anything with it.

Who is that dude in the black shirt and white pants?  He seems to be the one fighting the most and he's not even in uniform.

Don’t know but he might be able to go longer than 40 seconds against Conor McGregor.

James Love, an injured K-State player who got caught up in the fight as it spilled outside the court. Fran was complaining about it later on in the broadcast.

Felt bad for the disabled guy in the very back row who looked like he was trying to hit reverse on his wheelchair as shit starting rumbling towards him. Luckily the fight missed him to the right, that could have been worse. Can see him to the left of DeSouza here:

Any suspensions will almost certainly impact their home game vs Tech next Saturday. Maybe also Tennessee and (fwiw) Texas.

Also thought it was funny the PA announcer is talking about "free appetizers" for fans during the heat of the battle

Oh, and DeSousa with another off the court headline for a guy who's done nothing to help the team. He's 9th in minutes played yet 4th in fouls committed

Both teams and coaching staffs need to be HAMMERED with suspensions.    Sousa should be done for the yr for grabbing the chair.    The kid in street clothes should be done for a yr whenever he is ready to play.    Both coaches should get at least a game for having no control over their teams.    Anyone that was in the scrum should get a game or two.  Depending on what they did in the scrum after reviewing the vid many should get more games.    Anyone that left the bench but didnt get into the scrum should get a game.  If it means you have to forfeit a game or two then so be it.  Fuck that rotating suspension shit.      That was crazy dangerous.   It was reported that the area they were in was for disabled fans.   Thank God none of the players fell on any of them and hurt them.

I don't see the stomping on the person down on the ground.  When in the video is it and where in the frame?

Good news for Shaka, a depleted KSU squad should be an easy win for us in a couple weeks.

Going back to when John Thompson's Georgetown teams used to get in brawls like this every other week, I've always felt like the coaches should serve the same suspension as the longest-suspended player including forfeit of salary.

Instead, Self will use this as an opportunity to open up some scholarships from some underperforming players.

Wasn't watching, but is it true that the refs reviewed the play on the monitor and put a second back on the clock and made the teams come out of the locker room to play it?

That seems too stupid to be true.

First time watching Big 12 basketball officials?

It's Allen Field House, pretty much every section is for disabled fans.
