The Venn diagram overlap between “people who think black kids should conform for the greater good by cutting their hair in a way that is acceptable to me” and “people who refused to wear a ‘face diaper’ or get the ‘death jab’” is a circle.

and as posted earlier, this superintendent didn't want to produce his drunk (very likely) teenage son to the police after a one car accident. Can't let your son sacrifice himself for the greater good of people taking the responsibility of their action.

Hmmmm, sounds like woke socialism to me.  Something I'm guessing Poole is opposed to in every other facet of society, education, and the economy.  Just a hunch.

It’s always the same with these fucking fascists.

I generally agree that the rule is fucking stupid and they should let this go, but it is worth noting that the policy prohibits all males from having hair beyond a certain length.  Now, if they are only enforcing it against this kid, then there's a race-specific complaint, but if all males at the school are similarly treated, then this seems like a weak case to elevate as an example of racial bias.

Most beyond this is overthinking. My HS had a dress code in the 70s which was dumped by my junior year. No boy’s hair over the ears, skirt length, the usual stuff. We were 98% white and Mexican (about equal parts). Most of the black kids were from military families, so they were pretty straight laced. There was one black guy who had a huge 70s Afro, but he never had to cut it. One white guy got an Afro perm over the summer, and he had to get it cut the first week of school. Everyone thought that was hilarious. No lawyers were involved.

I remember in 2004-2007 we had a strict ass dress code where a Spanish teacher would go around with a magnifying glass looking for facial hair.

Same school that...

Wouldn't allow same-sex couples at prom

Allowed the band director to kick out a drum major for being gay

Told that same drum major (UT grad btw and MD now) that under no circumstances could he mention being homosexual in his Valedictorian speech

Good times and this wasn't a rural school either, but a suburban school.

I grew up in a rural community and attended a rural school run by morons like this aggie.  Boys' hair above the ears and above the collar, girls' hair past the collar, girls' skirts no more than one inch above the knee, crap like that. I still remember our pervy assistant principal standing at the front of the school with a ruler to check the skirts.  Sending my kids to an inner-city school district has definitely been eye-opening.  There's barely even a dress code, and the principals are too busy calling around looking for portable air conditioners and/or a cheap plumber to give a shit how long someone's hair is. It's equal parts refreshing and depressing.

Suburbs tend to be where scared white people live, with a higher concentration of fundagelicals than urban or even rural areas, and scared religious white people do some stupid tribal shit.  Sometimes (like when paying property taxes) I think about moving to the suburbs, but then I remember who my kids will be surrounded by and we stay put.

100% this.  It's a perfect example of institutional racism and unconscious white supremacy.

White people in power: Hey black people, you should conform to OUR (white people's) idea of what society should be, for, you know, "the common good."

And also...

White people in power: Don't force us to even acknowledge your values!  Our freedom trumps everything, you can't make me do ANYTHING for "the common good!"

The fucking cognitive dissonance is exactly what white supremacy is.  White people get to assert their freedom in every circumstance, the common good be damned...but everyone else needs to bow to the existing (white-controlled) social order, and THEIR exercise of freedom is wrong, selfish, and harmful.

But nevermind, delete my post, because that's just woke-ism, and it's all a lie, and it might make those white leaders feel bad about themselves.

Sounds like a great place to get an education.
Greg Poole, who has been district superintendent since 2006, said the policy is legal and teaches students to conform as a sacrifice benefitting everyone.
“When you are asked to conform … and give up something for the betterment of the whole, there is a psychological benefit,” Poole said. “We need more teaching (of) sacrifice.”

Greg should sacrifice his salary for the better of society. He’ll feel good about this decision.
