USA 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸 USA

And this thin stream of information from the front lines is our only direct contact with what is going on. Otherwise, it's statistics, graphs, lies, and correction of lies.

So many avenues of communication but so little real information being conveyed.

I agree with Graham here.

We have sinned against God, and have elected the anti-Christ to be president of the once-strongest nation in the country.

We have turned our backs on God, and turned our face to the Orange God, the Gold Plated Calf who himself worships at the altar of teleological narcissism

Would be impressed if we saw some political ads that displayed this sentiment.

Dont think it’ll happen. But I’d love for some Super Pac or something go hard at evangelicals. Go hard and blame this plague on their worship of a false god.

Play all the Trump hits about grabbing Puss, not asking forgiveness, etc.

It would be glorious.

They wouldn’t believe the adds anyway. They are so gone that if Jesus himself told them not to vote for him, they wouldn’t really have to ask their pastor what he recommends

Florida is always super close - if a bunch of their olds can’t make it to the polls or vote by mail? That could literally make the difference between Florida going blue.

Except we do have a pretty comprehensive vote by mail system already in place. I have lived here for over 5 years, voted in every election, and I have no idea where my ballot place is. I registered when I got my DL and checked the vote by mail box. Pretty easy.

Of course with all the olds moving here it probably helps the GOP. Maybe why they don’t mention Florida when it comes to bitching about voting by mail.

I started the video but 1) they don't mention who he is or why I should keep watching, 2) it takes him a long time to state what his point is.

I looked this guy up saw that he works for Peter Thiel, the billionaire that got Gawker shut down.

I have no doubt that they will try to do exactly what you are suggesting, but it's going to be damn near impossible to refuse to allow mail in ballots while the virus is roaring twice as bad as it is now.

Impossible? All they have to do is literally nothing.

One aspect of California that my oldest has appreciated is the vote by mail. I've been seeing a number of attacks against the much maligned USPS online lately, almost a push you might say. It would take another thread to discuss USPS and some of the reasons for its woes, but it bears watching that renewed attacks could be coming for reason.

Ted being a piece of shit as usual.

Ted does not wear the mantle of power well of late and maybe he never did. The trend of pols to spend much of their time bitching about other people who are not their colleagues or directly related to their work in office bugs me. Leave the grumbling to your constituents and message boards and pundits and do your damn job.

Yes I get that. You think nothing matters anymore, which is fair. I don't. Shit *has* to still matter. I can't see a scenario come November where Michigan has 10k plus dead and the GOP is fighting to stop people from mailing in votes. That strategy will be suicide. The South Carolinas and Mississippis are lost and who gives a shit, but let's see the fight play out in purple states with larger metros. Let's see the GOP argue that people have to go out and risk their lives to vote after 8 more months of covid. It's a lose/lose situation for the GOP. They can lose by allowing mail in ballots or they can lose by looking like a party who would rather risk lives than take measures to protect people. Even in this bizarro world we live in, fighting against mail in ballots as bodies stack up, will and should be, political suicide.

If this is true, then I don't understand why they are basing it on your income from 2018 or 2019? It doesn't  matter if it is a fucking advance! I don't understand the why of this at all.

Is it true?  Haven't seen that elsewhere.  I guess those of us who pay quarterly taxes will have to pay it back in its entirety then.

The senate can also just let the post office shut down, which is due to happen in June or July if it doesn’t receive emergency funding.

What you don’t realize is that they actually do want a lot of us to die.

They can, but they won't. The post office isn't going anywhere.

I wonder if the pandemic payday loan is also for the rich, cruise lines, etc? I know the answer.

I have a friend of mine (Trumper) from high school who as soon as the act was signed, he bragged on Facebook that he and his wife was using these proceeds to book their cruise for this summer.
