That sucks. But it’s click-baity to just call that school “Texas A&M” though. Goddamnit Fox.

I saw it on msn.com.  Their source was CBSDFW.com

Headline and article referred to Texas A&M University, but clearly it is -Commerce.

Not that it makes it better, but JFC get it right.

That article is a disaster of reporting. They corrected the title but later on say " Texas A&M University-Commerce is a satellite campus located". Negative on that one. Texas A&M University-Commerce is a standalone university, not a satellite campus. The satellites are Qatar, Galveston and McAllen.

Did they ever arrest anyone in the last shooting after they released the first guy?

Nope. No suspects either. The original innocent man arrested was released from jail without so much as an apology and went to start a new life in Florida.

Seems that a bunch of vibrant folks from Pleasant Grove in Dallas head out to Texas A&M Commerce to party and make trouble. Seems like a s-u-p-e-r boring campus when I have driven by it. More prison like than Sam Houston State. Which says something.

Kid of a 20-year old, both victims were sisters.

Deja Matts, a 19-year-old freshman from Garland, Texas, and her 20-year-old sister Abbaney Matts, who wasn’t a student, were identified as the shooting victims in a news release.

The 2-year-old son of Abbaney Matts was treated after the shooting and released to the care of family members, officials said.

A suspect has been arrested in the deadly shooting of two sisters in a Texas A&M University-Commerce residence hall, school officials said.

Jacques Dshawn Smith is charged with capital murder in the Monday shooting of Deja Matts, a 19-year-old freshman at the school, and her sister Abbaney Matts, 20, authorities said.

The sisters were found dead in Pride Rock residence hall, officials said. Smith is an ex-boyfriend of Abbaney Matts, officials said. Neither were students at the university.

The 2-year-old son of Abbaney Matts was injured in the shooting but released to the care of family, officials said. The boy was shot in the leg, WFAA reported.

Timothy Matts, the sisters’ father, told WFAA that his daughters had just been home for a family birthday party. Abbaney and her son were going to spend the night at the dorm after driving Deja back to school, Matts told the TV station.

Just beat her up last week too.

Smith was arrested by Garland police on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge on Jan. 27. The victim in that incident was Abbaney Matts, who police say was hit with a frying pan and a lamp and threatened with a knife by Smith. She suffered injuries to head, eyes, abrasions, red marks and other minor injuries.

Smith posted a $15,000 bail on Jan. 29 and a judge issued an emergency protective order for Matts.

Damn shame. Little shit should still be in jail.

My daughter’s cousin goes there. We tried to get here away from all that. But she wanted to be able to go home on the weekends.

Genuinely curious what this means?

I have known quite a number of folks that went to ETSU.  Most of em country-boy types that are in their 60s or older.  Teachers, builders and construction types and "engineers" (there never was a formal engineering program at ETSU).  Solid folks.

It appears that there is something of an "urban" culture out there now?  It kind of surprises me that that follows kids to college.  Kids are certainly capable of getting up to all kinds of dipshittery, but
