For those following along at home, this is the "bargaining" stage of acceptance

You're talking about the stages of grief, bargaining being somewhere in the middle, and acceptance being the last stage. A bunch of players and coaches appear to be in the bargaining stage, presidents appear closer to acceptance. But a whole bunch of people (about half of fucking voters) are still in the denial stage about the pandemic, throwing mask tantrums and sharing videos from quack doctors who think medicine comes from alien sperm or something. They will never move beyond that, because cloak room. It's the reason we couldn't get it under control this summer so there could be a season, bunch of irresponsible arrogant pieces of trash.

This is a pipe dream, but imagine if being the cultural outliers in the Big 10 makes Iowa and Nebraska reconsider conference affiliation?  They're the only Big 10 schools west of the Mississippi (save for like 3 buildings on Minnesota's campus).  Nebraska obviously should be in the Big 12, and Iowa fits completely.

If you could convince the SEC to swap WVU for Mizzou you could have this:

Big 12 North:

Iowa/Iowa State/KU/KSU/Nebraska/Mizzou

Big 12 South:

OU/OSU/UT/TTU/TCU/Baylor

All of a sudden you have returned college football to a place of regional cohesion, with pretty much every major conference being geographically contiguous.

Fuck Mizzou

Ryan Day's bringin' the heat. Our coaches and players are rather...active...on Twitter right now also.

Article here says Ohio State Chancellor Kristina Johnson did NOT vote for cancelation. Good move there. She's new to the job and voting against football would get her tar and feathered in her first month.

ESPN article on myocarditis and COVID talks to quite a few doctors and specialists nationwide. My take is this is definitely a high priority - it took out that Indiana freshman and also the Red Sox best (?) pitcher. But the consensus seems to be it's not going to be all that common, and now that they know to look for it, will be easier to recover over time.

While this is true, I think the concern is if the frequency of myocarditis post COVID is significantly higher than in other viruses. Also, alluded* Fucking medical proffesionals cant wroight 4 shite. Also, "after most infections" is a bit of a stretch.

Oh no I'm just saying I think that's what they're worried about, don't think the data is there currently.

What's weird is that there are probably a dozen other serious after-effects that have been seen and studied around the world in recent months. But the presidents are just now latching onto this one?  Not to dismiss the threat, but this feels like a shiny ball some good writers got their hands on and we're gonna bat it around for a few days.

If they want to postpone the fall, they should simply say the virus spread continues to be too high in their communities to risk conducting a large-roster, contact sport with no bubble and limited testing. Pretty sure every P5 has multiple markets still in the "High Risk" level.

Pffft they didn't cancel the season after I gave half the women's volleyball team the herp and that's some real lasting "after-effects"

Some of these sports Twitter "journalists" would orgasm to our realignment thread. None of this shit is happening fantasy boys.

Yeah, the "orgasm" would wind up being a simple case of wet farts, the way this year is going (so far)...

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said if the Big Ten cancels the football season the Buckeyes would explore playing in another conference:

Nebraska coach Scott Frost sends a message to the Big Ten: If you cancel the season, we're up for grabs.

and their impending announcement-they are looking TO DELAY the start of the season NOT TO CANCEL.

Won’t be any worse than a known risk called CTE.

Honestly can't tell if you're satirizing a specious argument or making it.

Congrat if the former; different even if valid issue if the latter. CTE may indeed end football and perhaps should. It would be foolish to neither study nor take precautions. Either way, I'm not letting Joel Klatt make the call even if he is one of the brightest of a numbingly dull group.

Elitist B10 tries to use their media connections to bully the rest of the conferences into cancelling the season, and not only do the other Power 5 give them the finger,  their own  league members including their bell cow do the same.  Delicious.

I don't know why people still think Ehlinger doesn't need to play another year to get drafted

Besides, it's his dream to quarterback The Longhorns, he will not abandon one minute of his dream.  He will stay until there's not one second of eligibility left.

So if the ACC, SEC, and B12 all play in the Fall and the P12 and Big 10 move to the Spring, what happens to the National Championship picture?

What happens public perception wise to the value of these conferences to networks? If there is no nations title implications, what does it do to their TV pay out? Lots of little wrinkles that could kick them in the nuts if only 2 of the P5 push to the fall...

Nothing. They are going to do what college kids do. They are not going to be separated from the student body. And that is going to spread the virus.

It's going to be a mess.

Nothing like Dennison to come preach to everyone outside of his rabbit hole.   Such a refreshing development.

y’all know people get myocarditis in some level when people get flu, pneumonia, common cold, and other ailments as well.  It’s fairly well documented.   Anyway, that’s it

6A championship is in the fall. 5A championship is in the spring.

Friend of mine just came up with a genius idea. 130 division 1 teams. Seed them all and have a single elimination tournament that starts in December. 7 games and you’ve won it all, assuming a play in game at the start.

It reduces exposure because fewer games, most teams only play a few games, and the entertainment value would be incredible.

@Iconoclast Texan is a straight up cunt.  And a weirdo.

He’s a cunt, an idiot, a cougar high fan at heart, he jumps on the Texas bandwagon when he feels like it and he’s a religious nut job who’s got a thing for trannys. Just a shitty fucking person

Can you folks that have a personal dislike for Icono take it to another thread to discuss trannies, tailored jerseys, Cougar High, etc.? It gets really tedious reading these takes in every thread in which he posts. It's starting to remind me of the gaggle of clingers that used to follow Rocko and Derka around posting the same dumb takes about pay stubs, Camaros, obesity, etc.

There might be a lot of new users who are not aware that he used to suck cock for cash and gets his nfl jerseys tailored to accommodate his tremendous girth.  That might affect their view of his opinion.
