As a someone who grew up in Kansas with all my family originally from a small rural town and observing what happened with my aunts, uncles, and cousins from that area. The smartest rural people go away to college, and rarely go back, so there are fewer smart people in the local gene pool. The cycle repeats generation after generation and the average IQ continues to plummet.

100 years ago you had to be pretty smart to survive in the country. All kinds of ways to starve/die/sicken/waste away if you weren't on your A-game. Now if you need something, you just crank up the bank's pickup truck, tool down a stretch of asphalt that makes an all-day trip into a 15-minute one, and slap down plastic for whatever you feel like packing your gut with.

None of the above actually lowers the IQ, mind you-- that job goes to Bro Country.

Because Kemp is a piece of shit. This is the man that sued the Atlanta mayor for her mask mandate, the man that engaged in voter suppression to win his election. If he could, he would decertify the election.

Because he doesn’t want to get primaried by a qanon simp and lose. Same as the SOS saying he isn’t happy that Biden won. Trying to appease their base without flagrantly breaking the law.

Both correct.

I’m not.  No one should these morons seriously.  There will be blood in the streets if they do this and it changes the result of the election.

This is our concern dude. But even if it doesn’t (and it almost certainly won’t) deligitimizing democracy itself for the losing side and a national party signing on to an effort to ask a state legislature overturn the result of an election is a real bad thing. Hard to unring that bell.

Agreed. This is a long term play. Republicans aren’t doing this for Trump. They’re undermining institutions and processes so that those inconveniences won’t be around to stop the next would-be GOP dictator.

I hope @Ag with kids is happy with this. The justification for giving party identity itself representation among other things is also the justification for putting a partisan outcome ahead of all other things, including democracy itself.
When George Washington warned you people about factionalism he knew what he was about.

h/t @Anastasis. The burn-it-down plan is working as expected.

"hey gang, i know you have this big cool plan to illegally flip michigan for your boy.  first of all, it won't work.  second, you'll be facing 5-10 years in prison.  have a good day."

Emily, I know it feels as though you're stuck between two great forces of weight.  But know this, Emily, there is a third force, because you are fat.

Is it just me, or is (or was in the case of Linda) there something about this Karen energy with Linda Tripp and Emily Murphy? Tripp was hired on during 41's term and stayed on during Clinton and Murphy is a Trump appointee. Originally began working for the govt. off and on since 2005. I normally don't believe it appropriate to comment on appearances as there is only so much under one's control in that regard, but the two women fit a particular demographic quite well.

Whatever happened to Linda Tripp?

Trump appointee slow walks Biden transition. That could ...

In short, she can replace any board member who refuses to certify with someone who will.

As aside - the losses in AZ and GA threw a monkey wrench into Trump's contingency plans once he lost the election. Their plan was to make it all about Pennsylvania and try to get the legislature there to name Trump electors instead - thereby giving him a 279-259 win.

That's why they flipped their shit when Fox called AZ for Biden on election night - they had planned to do this bullshit all along but wanted it to only be about one state. That's the only way it would have had any chance of success (and a very small one even then). The GA results made this little gambit of theirs impossible.

At this point, I think the republicans know they can’t do enough to give trump the presidency, but if they can successfully flip a state with no evidence of fraud then they set a precedent for future elections. Which they believe will always favor them as they hold more governorships and state legislatures, and will likely continue to hold state legislatures as long as they get to draw up the district lines.

You're giving them too much credit IMHO.

Look at the damage Trump is doing to GOP chances to hold the Senate in the GA runoffs.

This is just random shit-slinging now.

People keep saying this but I don’t see it. It presumes that Republicans care about principles and rules and laws. They don’t. The more Trump fights dirty, the more enthusiastic they become.

What damage?  Georgia republicans are still scared shitless to go against this bullshit, and make sure everyone knows they are only being held back by the law and if they had any level of choice they’d go along with the steal.

What damage?

"The election was stolen" narrative is potentially depressing turnout from the very people they need to show up, which is making it harder for the two GOP contenders to campaign. They should be saying "we need you to turn out so we can be the hedge against President Biden and his far left agenda!"

That requires that they acknowledge that Biden is president-elect which they cannot do as long as Trump alleges the presidential election is rigged.

If either Dem wins in GA I'll be absolutely stunned.  I'm buying that this election was about fear - fear of four more years of Trump and fear of socialist squad members donning serrated strap-ons and sodomizing white patriots in the GA suburbs  because no police.

Agree - the Republicans have now researched how to ratfuck elections. They will use that knowledge from now to eternity.

The ghost of Nixon lives in Trumpers. It's wired into the Trump experience.

She must be really stupid.  Do your job and maybe Biden keeps you on.  Fuck around and now you probably get fired in a few months.  Of course I'm sure Trump will be loyal to her and hook her up with a sweet maid job at one of his hotels.
