Trump said that the FBI and the DOJ participated in election fraud. It's amazing that anything else is being discussed. It's insane what this imbecile has normalized.

Yesssss throw Bill Barr under the bus. No pardon for him, I hope.

Trump has given American morons the confidence to insist on the truth of obvious falsehoods and to condescend intelligent, rational thinkers who demand facts and logic. He’s a Dunning-Kruger superspreader.

Also truly amazing to watch Trump accuse his own Department of Justice of the biggest crime in U.S. history and it doesn't even hint at a follow up from Maria Dawn Bartgino Jovi or whatever.  Just a nod and a shrug at that point.  Top notch work from everyone involved.

Trump doesn't believe it, otherwise he'd have fired Barr and would be firing people left and right.

It's not even been normalized. It's just that even Maria Bartiromo knows that 1) this fucker is off his rocker 2) he's the President of the United States

So what else is there to do at the point by shrug?

Things going well in GA

Quote

“Georgia law prohibits the governor from interfering in elections. The Secretary of State, who is an elected constitutional officer, has oversight over elections that cannot be overridden by executive order,” said Kemp spokesman Cody Hall.

I can't believe this had to be said.

He's down to matching signatures in Georgia, which is literally impossible because ballots aren't signed.  The signature check can only be done once when the ballot envelopes are opened.  I hope he keeps it up there if nowhere else.  He needs to help depress the fuck out Republican turnout.

He's going to beat this drum until the day he dies.  There is zero chance he stops this.  It's going to be a call back for every election they discuss on his network.  "Remember, back in 2020, they did this to me in Georgia too" will be a regular theme.  the grievance machine needs fuel, and he's found 1.21 gigawatts.

Ranking the likelihood of events that will prevent this fate.

1) his death

2) his imprisonment

3) the rest of humanity secretly conspiring to simultaneously switch to esperanto and not tell trump, thus denying his ability to communicate with us

4) his graceful and silent retreat into retirement

Remember earlier this year when Charlie Daniel's died and Trump wrote a longer, more flattering tweet about him than he did about John Lewis?

And not one of you assholes thought to make a meme about Donald visiting this state to demand election justice, with "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"  ???

C'mon, we're slipping people!

Also it entirely defeats the purpose of a "secret ballot" if you can go back and match ballots to envelopes.  This is the start of Republicans ensuring they know who voted for them and who didn't.

How influential is Bill Buckley's National Review in Republican circles these days? I'm asking because this OpEd is rather scathing.

helpfully penned by "the editors," diffusing the likelihood among dozens of people that an author will be shot by some raving trumpkin.

How influential?  Not at all.  0% influential.  Why?  Because to the Cult of Trump, the NR is just the deep state RINO rag.  And because the inmates now run the asylum, no other viewpoint matters.

Funny that you mention that, because yesterday when I heard about him going there, I did exactly that, and came up with this on the spot:

The Devil went down to Georgia

He was looking for an election to steal

He was in a bind because he was way behind

And he was known for making deals.

Well, that's as far as I went with it. Wife enjoyed it, then we proceeded with the tree trimming.

We really need four political parties. From right to left, the Trumpists, the Republicans, the Democrats, and the Democratic Socialists. It would be interesting to see which party prevails is the furthest left and right didn’t have to align with the Republicans or Democrats. I would side with the Democratic Socialists if there was a system that would still allow me to vote Democrat if necessary to defeat a republican or trumpist. Each party gets to nominate through primary elections. Then either ranked choice ballots, or a second primary among the four candidates where the top two then runoff in a general election unless a candidate gets 50% in the second primary. I like ranked choice but our country is too stupid to ever give it serious consideration. We’re currently arguing whether elections are legitimate based solely on the rankings of a narcissist.

Now you play a pretty good Twitter Joe,

But give the MAGA his due,

I’ll bet a shitter of gold against your soul,

Cause I think I’m louder than you.

90% of his base doesn't know the difference between National Review and National Lampoon.  Oh, and just like him, they struggle w/ reading, anyway.

"The Trump team (and much of the GOP) is working backwards, desperately trying to find something, anything to support the president’s aggrieved feelings, rather than objectively considering the evidence and reacting as warranted."

I picture most of Trump's base listening to William F. Buckley speak like the chicken farmer in "Napoleon Dynamite."  They'd look at Buckley afterwards and say, "Boy, I don't understand a word you just said."  I'd say at least half of Trump's base have no idea who he was, let alone what he and folks like he and Goldwater meant to the conservative movement.

A contributing editor to National Review, or she was, lives here in Austin.  She and her husband were adamant Trump supporters but only because of his tax/real estate investment regulatory policies.  They thought of him as a useful clown.  Anyway, she has been a brilliant writer for National Review, WSJ, RealClear, Chicago Tribune, and others.  She quit writing/editing for the National Review about 12-18 months ago because they wanted to take the magazine/website in a different direction.  A version more friendly to the typical Trump voter.  Basically they wanted to U.S.A. Today the New York Times.  She didn't want to be a party to that, so she and a few others hauled ass.  I haven't read the National Review since she left but I imagine they probably tilted a little bit towards the easy money grab and then got pulled back to their senses by the ghost of William F. Buckley haunting their dreams and calling them Ducky while he ghoul-fucked their faces.  I always loved him, RIP.

Trumpers, for the most part, just like bothering other people.  Knowing they are getting someone's goat, etc.  They think it's "owning" and makes them feel in control of a life that long since passed them by.  Buckley would have abhorred that notion.  He didn't want to irritate people or feel temporarily feel superior.  He wanted to intellectually and morally desecrate their being, brutalize the fiber of their cognitive existence, and then go after their families.

Trumpers, intellectually speaking, are "rent-to-own."  They want a temporary feeling of satisfaction, even if it hurts to think and the words don't make no sense.  Ultimately, they think they want to make the long-term investment, but they'll probably just move on to the next shiny thing on sale in 2024 or beyond.  Buckley's wanted the conservative movement to be one of spiritual and erudite discernment that could last in perpetuity.  Instead the whole fucking thing got hijacked by a bunch of Ram pickups with flags.  And here...we...all...are

I disagree. I, personally, know some Republicans who are disgusted by what took place the last four years.  I would guess that there's a sizable non-Trumpkin coalition of Republican folks but, right now, those politicians are cowed by the mighty force of Trumpkinism in their own party.

Then they don't fucking matter.  They are worse than a non-entity -- they are an entity that COULD take steps to stop this asshattery, but they won't.  So, in conclusion, fuck 'em.  Shouldn't be hard, they are already curled up in a cowardly ball.

That's why he uses the word "quickly."  The only thing quick about it would be tossing them.  There's no comparing, no checking, not anything more than tossing votes.

I can't believe this had to be said.

It is hilarious that none of the state Republican leaders anywhere have the balls to simply stand up and say, the election was fair and the count was accurate, we just lost this one.

Not a single one of them has the integrity to stand up and be honest.  Instead they’re all like scared rabbits.  It’s bizzaro.

Shit, head of the Rs in Arizona just filed a fucking lawsuit saying it was rigged.  I can’t believe this is still happening.

While it's eery to watch a losing candidate dance this close to the edge of ending basic democracy, its kind of fun to watch Trump lose the election two or three times each day for a month straight.

It's like the watching the opposing pitcher walk the bases loaded and walk in the winning run. If democracy wasn't hanging in the balance, it would be a lot more fun.

I'm watching this cornucopia of snowflake testimony at the Michigan Senate "hearing".

- This one bearded pussy read a statement saying he saw a van of ballots be delivered that he estimated to be 50K ballots. There was no chain of custody seen by him. They were brought in at 3:00am when no ballots should have been received after 8pm, so where have these ballots been between 8pm and 3am? No explanation has been given to him. He accused Attorney General Nessel of whisteblower intimidation. He further said they were not allowed to videotape in the TCF building, saying they were told it was potentially criminal. He wants a full independent investigation and for them to stop this fraud.

- I experienced the chain of custody being broken. She explained that they were asked how many republicans poll watchers were there, and it was announced two, but she didn't see anyone raise their hands. I was threatened and intimidated by Democrat poll watchers.

Witness after Witness are republican poll observer/challengers "just asking questions". As in things don't make sense to them and it's not fair they lost so it must be fraud.
