But hey, at least Greg Casar is a an honest fucktard.
More than can be said for the rest of that pack of jackals.

Flannigan’s good, as are Harper-Madison and Pio.

An unapologetic, unbridled socialist.

But, yes, at least he's honest about it.

He’s certainly DSA on labor and social programs, but he doesn’t require it to enlist the support of others. And in practice, he’s far more market-oriented on the most important things, like real estate and land use,  than Pool, Alter, Tovo, or Adler.

She got out of her "comfort zone"

Wait... she went to collect signatures because she still can’t/won’t pay $500 and then people showed up to help and gave money? Gonna guess money STILL won’t be used to get herself on the ballot

Surprised she hasn’t sued about it - it’s so hard to collect signatures during a pandemic and $500 infringes on her rights or sumsuch

137 signatures.  That was all she needed.

The Chronicle just published some info on the council races and the cash that the candidates have raised.

https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2020-07-24/as-council-campaigns-begin-the-cash-rolls-in/

“In far Northwest Austin's D6, likely the most conservative Council district, a semi-famous right-wing challenger to unabashed progressive Jimmy Flannigan would seem like a threat. But so far, fundraising doesn't support that idea; Flannigan raised $68,154 and has $60,057 in available cash as the race heats up. His colleagues Natasha Harper-Madison, Paige Ellis, and Ann Kitchen all contributed, along with former CMs Betty Dunkerley and Chris Riley. Planning Commissioners Conor Kenny and Fayez Kazi, along with urbanist advocate Dan Keshet, also contributed, reflecting Flannigan's alignment with urbanists despite representing a mostly suburban district. State Rep. John Bucy, who represents the Williamson County portion of Flannigan's council district, also donated.

Flannigan challenger Mackenzie Kelly, who ran for D6 in the great 10-1 Blitz of 2014 (she finished fifth in a six-way race), has pulled in just $19,056, although she only appointed a treasurer in early May. In 2014, Kelly gained national notoriety for her support of Gamergate – the online harassment campaign waged by mostly white males against women in the industry. This time, she's focusing on homelessness, where she's been a constant critic of the Council. Now that Save Austin Now's initiative to roll back Council's decriminalization efforts may end up on the November ballot, Kelly's campaign could gain some steam. Her fellow Council critics Susan Spataro and Sharon Blythe have contributed, along with Don Zimmerman, who narrowly beat Flannigan in that 2014 race but lost the rematch in 2016. (He actually did run in the SD 14 special election, placing third, after also placing third in March's GOP primary for House District 47.)”

She's really fucking lucky that Flannigan is not the type to leak her photos or anything.

Edit: Then again, it may win her some votes, you never know with that crowd.

She would totally turn that into playing the victim card, while also making it a redemption story and about how the power of Jesus and the Republican Party made her a better person. Digging into the past would be a campaign mistake.

Can’t believe y’all want her in city council. I’m in Dallas and don’t care. But if you’re in Austin, she’s a terrible person.

It would sum up everything that has gone wrong in Austin over the last 20 years.

We somehow escaped the idiot running for State Board of Education, that wanted teen girls to be taught how to pole dance in high school, so at some point we will cream on the pied piper or something.  Wait, wrong analogies.

You may be 200 miles north of Austin but you may as well be on another continent.  And really don't have any idea how bad our council is.

She has no, zero, chance of beating Flanagan FWIW.

She might try to beat him off.

Oh cool, I didn't know cops sat around in neighborhoods with car break-ins, waiting to tell us there were car break-ins.

"These are crimes that can be preventable."

Yeah, no, that's not how "break-ins" work, as a break-in is a crime, regardless of whether they got your Milli Vanilli CD or nothing at all.

I emerged from my slumber early in the AM, only to hear her voice on local radio. I caught the back end of her appearance. Did anyone else catch the chat with her?

She's been all over the 2020 equivalent of Austin Public Access.  She's been doing radio shows, live streams, etc.
