Now that both my kids are old enough to enjoy air shows, it would be awesome if somebody set one up at one of the smaller airports in the area.   Charge $40 a carload, space the cars out 10-12 feet or so,  you bring your own food and drink., you stick to your car, have it in the morning, let it run for 2-3 hours and tell everybody to piss before they leave home.

Hmm..I’m friends with some folks in the CAF, brb.

Make it happen. My daughter liked the flyby yesterday so I started telling her about air shows and how we need to go. Used to love them when I was a kid

I’ll never forget 1990 when dad went from a reservist to AD USAF.  His first assignment was Scott in Illinois.  We were driving up to the front gate, and while Dad chatted with the SF a C9 took off in front of us barely a half mile away...my mind suddenly realized ‘I get to live on an airport!’   Once settled into temp housing I instantly walked over to the flight line by the golf course and watched planes all day long.

That of aviation never died, even though I’m a PM at a large company and never followed the dream to fly...but never underestimate the impression something like that can make on a young kiddo.
