Wanna make a statement I'd pay attention to?   postpone all sports until there are no murders for 24 consecutive hours in Chicago and NYC.

Show me you care about lives and not politics.

This shit is so fucking stupid  and grandstanding.

I don't care to hear it tonight.  Fuck you.  You favor politics over substance( lives.)

I'm honoring Jackie Robinson by quitting.  Just like these mofos.

They don't understand that Chicago is a perfect example of why these protests exist in the first place. They think the violence in places like Chicago proves their point about black people. They don't understand that they are making a racist argument.

Fuck anybody who has a problem with this. It’s a damned shame there are so many. I’ll leave the rest for CR.

Fuck anybody stupid enough to think that a bunch of entitled athletes sitting on their asses is going to change any actual racist’s attitude about anything.

You don’t think that 30 cities opening their NBA arenas for voting, and the NBA pushing the message to get out the vote, makes a difference?  I can assure you it will.  And how do you think that happened?  It’s not all about changing the mind of Cletus Chucklefuck flying the stars and bars.  It’s about action and accountability.

TLDR - fuck you

Hmmmmmm fuck anybody stupid enough to forget that many "entitled" athletes have first-hand experience with the issues they're protesting.

How does “security guards” calling police on a person at their home equate to police brutality and rascism?

I’m all ears.

How about the Milwaukee Bucks’ own Sherron Brown? There are tons of examples

https://theundefeated.com/features/bucks-guard-sterling-brown-milwaukee-police/amp/

Are you really trying to argue that black athletes aren’t profiled and treated with the same inequality by police as black people around the country? Or is your argument that police brutality, racism and racial profiling don’t exist?

I’m eagerly waiting to get educated. Also I’d love to know what gives you the right to tell anyone else what is an appropriate protest. These athletes have finally realized that they have leverage, and they’re using it to try to get real change accomplished.

But maybe you gave it right and they’re all just entitled employees that should just shut up and dribble, pitch, hit, etc.

athletes shouldnt discuss politics, they should stick to sports - "shut up and dribble/play! - the same way painters shouldn't talk about politics, they should only talk about paint, doctors should only talk about medicine, not politics, mathematicians should only talk about math, not politics, plumbers should only talk about laying pipe, not politics...etc, etc, etc. GTFO.

robert ford nailed it and good for the Astros and A's, proud of them - if you are turned off by a peaceful protest, maybe....just, maybe, you are part of the problem.

Failed businessmen should only talk about how to ruin successful American enterprises like football, casinos, steak and vodka

And these children that you spit on,
As they try to change their world,
Are immune to your consultations,
They’re quite aware of what they’re going through.

Astros purchased the contract of RHP Luis Garcia from their alternate training site.

Garcia has yet to pitch above High-A in his professional career, but the pitching-needy club will give him a shot in this ever-changing season. The 23-year-old had a 2.98 ERA in 108 2/3 innings of work in the minors last year, racking up 168 strikeouts in the process. We'll see whether the team has designs on using him as a starter or a reliever in the majors.

FIFY.  If you can't answer your own question, you're either to stupid to explain it to further or you're probably just a little racist and don't want to acknowledge a truth that makes you uncomfortable.

Oh for fuck's sake. Did you not read the article? It was a  new house  and he wasn't "on the list".

They didn't shoot him,  beat him, arrest him or call him "boy". They were trying to protect his fucking house from a person they didn't know. That's NOT racism. What the fuck is wrong with you people?
