Boy you are smart. Too bad the media, and certain posters here don't acknowledge the violence committed for going on 4 months now by BLM supporters, and the peaceful protestors (the media keeps calling the rioters and looters).  The media keeps reporting that they are peaceful. It's been their running narrative since day one.

Anyone taking it upon themselves to violate anyone else regardless of their politics is a criminal POS.  Yes right wing dumb asses have run people over for sure.  BLM protesters have indeed attacked people in vehicles, and the lie that they haven't needs to stop.  And no I'm not going thru the hundreds of videos of BLM protesters harassing people on the street, people in vehicles, a father and his 9 year old child, old people, anyone who dares to disagree with their right to riot and force their particular point of view on others..... and posting it here to validate what's been shown on countless media outlets.

You have never, nor will you ever see me deny that right Wing wack jobs have committed acts of violence. You cannot say that about certain. posters here BT looking right at you about the BLM protests.

Cool, so answer my question -- since the BLM movement is now illegitimate because of violence committed ostensibly in its name (see how I'm not arguing with you?  See how I am not denying, and never have denied, that significant violence has happened?), is the Trumpism movement now illegitimate as well?

I'm not asking if bad actors are bad -- we've established that they are.  I'm asking if the actions of these bad actors render an entire movement illegitimate -- you have consistently taken that position.  I'm just asking if you're going to be consistent.

You're being dishonest, Onboard. Read your bolded words in the first quote and your denial of them in the latest quote. The latest quote is only literally true in the sense that you have avoided using those exact words. Your meaning is clear in the first quote. Your second quote indicates that you know it is clear, but you can't quite go all the way and claim it.

Negged for dishonesty.

I don't care what you are marching for, just don't block traffic.  Hell, there could be a million person march for making Michael Knight and Bad Teammate post only in the CR and I'd still be pissed if I was trying to get somewhere.

Blocking (or slowing down) traffic or not knowing how to go through TSA pre check are where I draw the line.

Violence definitely happens at BLM protests. Never denied that.

The reality is that BLM rallies are characterized heavily by their peaceful nature.  Tens of millions of Americans have participated in BLM rallies. And while it's absolutely true that pro-BLM people have engaged in violence, it's vanishingly rare and non-lethal. The body count racked up by pro-BLM individuals at demonstrations is... what? I'm not saying it's zero, but no honest person looking at the facts could characterize this movement as violent/deadly.

If they're using emotion? Yes. They can make an emotional or irrational argument (no, brotha, that isn't racist for me to say) that doesn't need facts or data. It satisfies some feeling or bias in their hearts so they'll make the argument regardless of logical merit.

"Violence" I am using to mean actions taken to physically hurt a person. I'm not counting property crime (smashing windows or tearing up supply drops) as "violence".

The "anti"-BLM movement is far more violent. The numbers of participants are fractional compared to BLM, their body count is larger, and on average the anti-BLM participant is far more likely to be armed and motivated by factional anger than their BLM counterpart.

This matters not simply because we all have natural allegiances, but if we are ACTUALLY WORRIED about social cohesion and mass violence and death, it's pretty clear what the most pressing issue is.

Ok Karen, I already apologized. If you're going to use those terms to be dismissive make sure you actually have something to base it on. Not just your feelings.

Buuut, most racists don't realize they are racist or will admit it. Jus' saying.

Joke..maybe

Oh really ?  The BLM.COM movement is much more than justice for people of color (that's their cover).   Try some of their dishonesty on for size.

Are they shiftless? I hear they're shiftless, and would rather risk getting killed by the police while demonstrating than do any actual work. Just between you and me, everybody really knows that they steal, too.

After all we've done for them!

BLM is one of the most admirable organization of my experience as an American. (No winking)

My friend, you use this bailing technique too often. It's odd to have so many common reference points with someone, yet see this with such polarity.

Re-examine your positions. I get the feeling that you're too comfortable with things that you would abandon upon reflection.

I don't really know what you're referring to, but while BLM.COM may have a very noble component that is not their only, and or end goal. They are a marxist, hard left leaning organization. That makes them a non starter for me.

It's definitely gone past time to hold the police accountable for their actions against minorities.  That in no way means we need to burn the rest of the country down in order to achieve that goal.

The protests that have turned to violence, looting, destruction of private, and public property, and injury, and or death to those caught in its cross hairs is on them for the most part. Yes, there are right wing whack jobs creating false flag acts of violence being ascribed to the BLM protests, and there are just blatant assholes using it as an opportunity to do exactly what we've seen on so many videos, but the majority of the violence is squarely on their shoulders.

I don't see them denouncing the violence or destruction by others. Only now that the polls are showing the public is growing tired of their actions . In short don't piss down my leg, and tell me it's raining.

I treat all people the with equal respect, that is with the equal respect they afford me.  While my comment was a bit tongue in cheek, if BLM is the best you've seen in America your life really must suck (no winks given).

My statement isn't incorrect, but I removed the reference to the political party.

Did you not read the article with multiple statements against the violence? Or are you just going to be dishonest just as you were when you stated your governor didn't order a state of emergency "for weeks" after the beginning of the protests. You even went so far as to continue to insist that was the case AFTER I provided a link to his order on May 31 when things went south just a few days after Memorial Day when George Floyd was murdered.

Nonpartisan quotes from the link I provided:

Quote

On May 31, the fifth night of demonstrations, candidate X, wrote in a statement that protesting police brutality is “right and necessary” and the “American response."

“But burning down communities and needless destruction is not,” Biden wrote. “Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

Quote

On June 3, Rep. Y, told The Washington Post that the movement for racial justice suffers when it is “hijacked” by violence.

"We have to make sure we do not allow ourselves to play the other person’s game,” Y said. “Peaceful protest is our game. Violence is their game. Purposeful protest is our game. This looting and rioting, that's their game. We cannot allow ourselves to play their game."

Y said he encourages young activists to remember the “purpose” of their efforts: “to make a better country, a better world, for those who must come after us.”

“Breaking out a window will not contribute to that. Setting a fire, throwing stones at police officers, that’s destructive behavior, which will not contribute to anything that will make this a better country and make a better future for our children and our grandchildren,” he said.

Quote

And after clashes between protesters and police turned violent in Chicago last weekend, Mayor Z said there is "no justification for criminal behavior," according to The New York Times.

"There cannot be any excuse for it, period. This was not legitimate First Amendment protected speech," she said. "To those who engaged in this criminal behavior, let's be clear: We are coming for you."

Quote

"When you commit arson with an accelerant in an attempt to burn down a building that is occupied by people who you have intentionally trapped inside, you are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder," Mayor A said, according to The Washington Post.

You were wrong in your first statement. Continuing to make that statement is lying.

If you want to bring paint to a protest, remember:  "Paint is a defensive mechanism, paint is not bullets."

I think that's very clear.

He didn't mention the party.  He's responding to OnBoard's post referencing "Democrats" and he's likely referring to Biden/Harris campaign staff donating to that Minnesota group that was bailing rioters out of jail back in June.  I now see also that Harris was politically inept enough to shill for bail donations herself.  Savvy.

I don't foresee you catching your tail. You deny holding the opinion that BLM is illegit then look at what you write. The last bolded comment becomes laughable.

They're dishonest with a hidden agenda that includes Marxism from the "hard left." You denounce them. Setting aside that you can't prove most of your factual assertions (BLM has denounced and prevented violence where they can. What do you think raising their hands and shouting don't shoot is about? But you really don't have any desire to see that. So, let's just set aside what you believe to be the facts.)

Aside from facts, look at your gymnastics attempting to appear fair and respectful. You lie about your disposition towards BLM. Why? What are you trying to disguise with your first position that you won't say BLM isn't legit and then telling us that they're violent, Marxist, and presumably a threat to the republic? In other fora, I won't hesitate to denounce the threats to the republic that I perceive. Why would you?

I'll guess.

1) You want to stay on the comfortable footing you've had for decades. You've invested your identity with a stand. You don't want to admit that you were wrong about some things.

or

2) You hold despicable views on groups of our fellow citizens that you know people don't like so you try to hide them.

I've wanted to believe 1. I know you will say you don't care, but, again, why are you hiding an opinion if you don't care what a bunch of anonymous posters on a football board will think of that opinion?

Read your quotes in sequence above. I don't call you stupid. I don't believe you're stupid. Your taste in movies is too good for that.

Contractors acknowledge that prices for riot-related work are far higher than usual, but they said that is because government regulations require them to treat all debris from a burned-out building as hazardous. Industry veteran Don Rachel said those rules can double demolition costs.

Neither 1 or 2 are even remotely accurate.  I've never thought much differently about racism since I was old enough for it to be something recognizable in my life.  What I'm finding I'm incorrect about is that there may be more racism than I thought existed in this day, and age.  I don't understand it.  The despicable views I might have mostly fall along political lines. I do not like people who are bent on radically changing the form of gov't we've been living under (very successfully I might add) for over 250 years, that and I hate the Redskins, professional basketball, and hot/super spicy food.

Yes I have a developed sense of taste for movies.

The cause of black lives matters is a separate issue. It stands alone on its own merit. BLM.COM is a lot more than just social justice for black people. Not gonna go down this path again. It's founders are marxist (hard socialist at the very least) in their belief system, and that's the end game for them, hard socialism. That is enough for me to say fuck off to BLM.COM.

Promoting racial justice for everyone in our country regardless of skin color, sexual orientation or religious beliefs is good enough for me, and is not a political party position, nor should it be. I don't feel the need to radically change the direction of our gov't, or burn down cities in the process.

I hate the insurance comeback.  My car and house have insurance.  It doesn’t mean it’s ok for you to wreck it as one there’s always a deductible and 2 the insurance companies aren’t likely to make me whole.

It doesn't.  Imagine marches like the MLK march in Washington in the 60's all over the country in place of the senseless violence, and destruction.  Nah, that wouldn't lead to any change especially when the change you want is the destruction of the nation itself.

I've used that as a comeback!!  I said MLK wouldn't like what's happening now.  One comeback was "yeah, look where all his work got us.  This is what we have to do to make a mark."

¿porque no los dos?

It's not #1 or #2, it's #1 because #2.

No one here approves of the rioting or looting. BLM as an organization doesn't approve of the rioting or looting. That's the factual reality. The emotional reality to OnBoard and his fellows is the opposite, what they believe in their hearts is counter-factual.

But they can't face the factual reality they're looking at so they're prey to grifters like Andy Ngo and dozens of others who literally make a living helping OnBoard and his fellows live more comfortably in a state of cognitive dissonance.
