The Democratic party has its issues to be sure, but here is a vastly incomplete roll call of people that have expressed either support for Trump and/or the GOP or disdain for the Democratic party.  Often, they are promoted by the President himself or his closest officials and family members.

I could go on, but why bother?  You likely won't read a single link and certainly won't connect-the-dots to understand that a vote for Trump and the GOP is a vote for an ideology that is inclusive of white nationalism, racism, bigotry, misogyny and hate.  And just so you know, I'm not posting this for your disingenuous ass.  I'm posting this for anyone else that reads your false equivalency bullshit and takes it at face value.

The Republican Party as it stands now is on the wrong side of good and evil.  There is no equivalence between the parties in this regard.  Vote as if your soul depends on it, because it does.

This needs to be running on air 24 hours a day. Says everything about the difference between Biden and Trump and totally seals the deal.

Curious, why wasn't it covered by insurance?  Also curious that there are pretty credible reports that Canadians have insane waits for most healthcare procedures, although I am sure some of the more rarefied ones do not.  Can foreigners just jump the queue?

No, foreigners don't jump the queue. It's a surgery that would have been entirely covered (subsidized) under the Canadian health system had we been citizens, but is one of many things insurers like to exclude here. So it would have been out of pocket for us either way, but their out of pocket was almost 120% less expensive.

Convention related--

If you have some time to spare, watch some or all (after the campaign ad blitz at the beginning) of this Democratic Governors Panel chaired by Stacey Abrams from yesterday. I caught part of the rebroadcast on CSpan but I see it's been loaded to YouTube. It covered several topics and I was in and out of the room, but it was a good listen for the bits that I saw and I plan to go back and watch the entire thing as I expect to see more of a few of these folks in the years to come. One section that I happened to catch was them talking about what it was like dealing with a hostile lege during a pandemic.

I just saw on MSNBC, The Reid Out, talking about missed opportunities at the convention. This election Dem message should talk more about picking Judges especially Supreme Court. Pound it and pound it. I guarantee it will be talked about next week at the RNC gathering, its part of their long term strategy. Dems get so into “well you didn’t pick my candidate so I’m not voting.” Or Progressive purity. Ridiculous. Joe and Kamala are what we got so get over it.

I didn't have the chance to actually sit and watch the entirety of Biden's speech until the middle of the night last night and I would encourage anyone who hasn't watched it to do so.  I am a lifelong liberal Democrat who skews wide left of the typical centrists the party usually nominates, so I have never felt strongly about Joe Biden and always saw him as an omnipresent Democratic senator who could be counted on to vote for centrist Democratic policies and put up the good fight when called upon. I didn't support him in the primary because I thought he was milquetoast and too much of a compromise candidate.

However,  I was blown away by last night's speech in a way that I cannot remember in my lifetime. It may be a function of the importance of this election and the dire circumstances we're in, but Biden could have mailed in a field goal drive, play it safe speech in which all he needed to do was not make a serous gaffe. Instead, he did the exact opposite and delivered what I think will do down in history as a watershed moment for our nation.  I had no idea he had the ability to connect with us like that and he did so powerfully.

Before last night I was obviously going to cast my vote against Trump, but today I can say that I will  vote for Joe Biden. Proudly.

It was one of the best speeches I’ve ever seen. It reminded me of a Reagan speech, who I liked at the time but now realize he was just a really good actor with really good speech writers and was really all just, bullshit.

Biden’s speech was absolutely incredible. It came from the heart and whoever wrote it spent a lot of time on it and Joe spent a lot of time practicing it.

This was probably because they all realized it may be the most important speech in modern history, given what is at stake. They made it outshine even both of the Obamas speeches. It was and it worked.

The bar has been lowered so fucking low by Trump and Republicans for the last 4 years that milquetoast Democrats making perfectly fine speeches is making people cry. Jesus fuck.

Man I'm getting old but I just don't understand all these new meme formats.

That cabal was the cause of most of today's problems. Sociopaths who forced austerity on the masses while giving their buddies a free pass to raid the wealth of the nation. Socialism for the rich and powerful.

More people need to see the light of how bad Reagan and Co. was for the nation. Trump lifted MAGA from the Reagan sociopaths who destroyed the safety net. Trump illuminates the problems created by the Reaganites.

Tired old sham.

Those blinders have been on for a long time. It will take time, but it is a move in the right direction.

Vote Biden and slow the painful decline of this nation.

Oh I agree. I just didn’t realize it at the time and frankly not until the last few years. I was dumb. So were a lot of people.

I’ve been thinking about this angle and have decided I disagree. Democrats are going to turn our unless their vote is suppressed. We have many forces working to make it safe for Republicans to stay home or skip this race. The Lincoln project and others are giving them cover. The one thing that would bring them back to Trump is the Supreme Court.

Trump will try to suppose the vote of course, but he fails in that endeavor just like he has failed in everything else in his life.

Once he loses he will claim it was because of fraudulent voters. He and Fox News and all their sycophants will parrot that refrain ad naseum and he will then try to de credit the vote itself.

What happens next is of course not known, but the most likely scenario is eventually Trump will cave like the coward that he is and he. Will set sail for the nearest Russian embassy that is willing to take him.

The government will eventually issue warrants for his arrest but he and his corrupt family will be safe inside a Russian embassy somewhere and it will then become very difficult to extradite him.

What happens next is hard to preidict.

Just proves the magnitude of the corruption and the powerful concentration of media into the hands of a few. Enforcing existing Antitrust laws is a partial cure. Knowing who we are voting for empowers citizens to demand more.
