Grift for Trump: Bad
Grift for Biden: Yawn

Noted.

This is not even in the same ballpark. It’s not even the same fucking sport. GTFO with this nonsense.

Only news here is that Trump had an ethics advisor. Wow.

What? You think taxes are only associated with socialism? Pretty much every form of government, with any number of economic systems, has a system of taxation. And pretty much ever government will use force to enforce its will.

Can a CEO use physical force to make their workers do something they do want to do? Yes, they've literally done it (e.g., https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinkerton_(detective_agency)). Is it legal for them do so? Depends on the specific actions. Sometimes yes, sometimes (usually) no.  Again, do you think physical force is somehow unique to socialism? Do you have any idea what socialism is?

Actually, true socialism has no need for taxes.  Controlling the means of production and virtually every aspect of the economy, the government pays you and keeps its cut.

My god, you are such a whiny little cunt.

Just curious. Because my favorite poster on the shag was the swam. Never a dull moment with that dude and his nonstop idiocy.

But if you’re not him, oh well. You do seem more boring. The search continues.

is swamy the old swam4texas?  Incred hits some of the same notes.

I think it is a new Mr Phlegm-style poster, but surly.

Yep. Swam4texas who it’s my understanding actually swam for Texas but not entirely sure he graduated. He was one hilarious cloak room idoit though.

So I am supposed to believe that each country won’t have carve outs and preferences for the litany of cronies that will be at the trough?

Just as we will. Now hush Mr. Beale. You are messing with the fundamental laws of nature.

I watched two of Biden's speeches this week. He set the agenda. Now he needs to go LBJ on the House and Senate.

Good week for Biden and Co.  Voting rights legislation now a priority. What Texas is doing in this area will get a starring role in the present.

I hope you are right. These are definitely precarious times.  It’s similar to 1942 all over again, just much less obvious since no WW2. Definitely the end point in the crises. Things hang in the balance.

Something bad might happen so let's do nothing.  I'm guessing your international minimum corporate tax plan closely mirrors you climate change plan.

https://bobbyburchfield.com/ was identified as one ethics advisor in 2018 by Rachel Maddow, of all people.

Bravo Maddow Nation. Sorry no one listened. You were right.

I thought part of Trumpian nationalism was to get corporations to pay their taxes and spend that money at home? That's when I saw certain Dems flip their stance on protectionism (do the opposite of Trump seemed to be their ethos).

“I fight like hell to pay as little as possible, for two reasons,” Mr. Trump said in the August 2 interview. “Number one, I am a businessman, and that’s the way you are supposed to do it. And you put the money back in your company and employees and all of that. But the other reason is that I hate the way our government spends our taxes. I hate the way they waste our money, trillions and trillions of dollars of waste and abuse. And I hate it.”

Never said he did any of those things just that iirc he'd spew similar ideas as a part of his bs 'America First' rhetoric on the campaign trail. He also supported protectionist policies like tariffs which the Bernie wing would approve of. I witnessed people who were all in on things like tariffs but once Trump floated the idea they all of a sudden turned into free market capitalist. It's reactionary thinking, the Pubs are doing the same thing with Biden.

Explain

There is not a pot of tax revenue from which the government spends money. The government does not need revenue. Taxes are a way for the government to get money out of circulation. It's the government's money to begin with.

They spend our tax revenues and the money they borrow.  It is unfortunate that they are not constrained to some extent by reality though.

That's not how it works. It's not a household. We possess monetary sovereignty as a nation.

Money is only money if people will accept it in exchange for goods or services.

And when the US Dollar falls from its international status, we can wrap ourselves up in the warm blanket of monetary sovereignty while we gas up the bombers.

This paradigm will result in spilled blood.  You guys know this. Couch it in economic theory and handwaving if that makes you feel better, but that is where we end up.
