Tell me about Nebraska

Looking at their schedule, they also drew Ohio State this year.  Lulz.  They could easily lose both 60-0.  They easily have another 4 losses on top of those.  They never thought to check if they were scheduling OU during the Ohio State year.

They're stuck in the early 90s, they probably looked at the schedule and saw nothing but W's and bought tickets to Miami

I was actually looking forward to NU-OU,  but really what difference will it actually make?  Even with three cupcakes in the OOC schedule. Nebraska isn't going to come close to sniffing the CFP or any major bowl.

So, other than dunking on huskers (which is, admittedly, fun) this topic is really much ado about nothing.

Wait.  So Nebraska, who claimed losing the annual ousux game was one of the reasons that caused them to leave the Big XII, is trying to cancel an ousux game for...Old Dominon?

What a bunch of bitches.

OU has literally done everything that the corn aggys bitch and moan at us for doing. I’ve always been fascinated by Husker and Sooner fans mutual respect for one another particularly from Nebraska’s POV.

The meth heads literally voted with us on every fucking thing and reaped the same benefits we did (along with aggy). Yet it’s always big bad evil Texas and thier greedy arrogance yada yada yada. Fuck Nebraska! I hope they never win shit again

Holy shit these fucking pussies. I hope OU holds them to it and beats them by 100.

Wouldn't expect anything different from those butt hurt pussies. I can't say that I've lost any respect, because I have no more to lose. Should work well on the recruiting trail. Come to NU so your friends & family can watch you play in the biggest nationally televised games each week Old Dominion on the BTN Network's 11AM kickoff. What  a fucking dump of an athletic dept.

Sometimes people give me weird looks when I tell them I root for Iowa against Nebraska. Maybe that will change eventually.

Correct and more often than not, they'd lose to Oklahoma because OU would always play Texas, Okie State, and usually a good non con by that point.  (Even in bad years, Okie State would play them hard.)  Nebraska had a lot of average teams that were 10-1 or 9-2.

This season will be brutal for them.  3 of their first 4 games are on the road, with only Buffalo being at home and from what I understand, Buffalo is solid.  Whoever put that schedule together should be shot.  All road games early and somehow play 2 of the top 4 teams in the same year in OU and Ohio State.

at Illinos -- possible loss

Buffalo -- possible loss

at Oklahoma -- a loud and pornographic loss

at Michigan State -- possible loss

Northwestern -- likely loss

Michigan -- likely loss

at Minnesota -- win

Purdue -- win

Ohio State -- complete and utter force fucking

SE Louisiana -- win

at Sconsin -- loss

Iowa -- loss

That's likely 8 or 9 losses with two games being complete ass rapings.

To be fair to @Longboard Horn he didn’t say he was “rooting” for ou.
Hell, I too, am looking forward to their blasting of what is a sham of a “blue blood” they consider themselves to be. Ha!

They ran crying to the BIG10-11...whatever, and haven’t done shit since.

“Dr.Tom” as they so admiringly reference him, is gone. And so are his “ways of doing things”. Who are they going to get to go to that God forsaken flyover state, part of the country to play football?
IMHO if they had ANY chance to recruit these days of Covid-19 and no visits, NOW is the time.
However, they’ve no recent (ie it’s been30+ yrs) on which to build, sell and recruits.  They needed to be raiding the juco’s and offering them whatever they can (Corn Pops, cornbread, popcorn, corn syrup, corn mash, corn hole, cornucopia corn pone) to entice them to come.

I think Nebraska could be this seasons surprise breakout team. They could string together some wins, and with some luck get into the B1G Championship game again. If they can reach their "jet tempo" on offense after a couple good plays, and the defense gets turnovers, they could hang with anyone in the B1G West. Its just a matter of getting the skill players in a rhythm together.

All is well.  There was nothing wrong with Bill Moos' thinking that 50,000 Nebraska fans with pitchforks and torches mobbing the Athletic Department couldn't quickly fix.  If Nebraska loses, so be it.  Osborne lost to Oklahoma six years in a row when he started coaching.  It forced him to get better.  It might do the same for Frost.

It is rumored that one thing that soured Osborne on the Big 12 was Oklahoma fleeing to the Big 12 South when Nebraska was dominant in the '90s.  He finally had teams to beat consistently beat OU and they could dodge that every other year.  He wanted to square up his W-L against the Sooners and this made it harder.

You can discount this or not, doesn't matter to me.

If you wanted to pursue this further and bury that urban legend for once and for all, go look at who was on the roster and from where they came during those championship years.  But it's just easier to think that it was players like Lawrence Phillips and not players like Rob Zatechka* that made ALL of the difference, right?  (By the way, do you even know who was the back up to Lawrence Phillips?...Ahman Green.  Not much of a drop off, huh?)

*Actually, Dr. Zatechka...as in M.D.

Which years did Nebraska and Oklahoma not play when Osborne was coaching at Nebraska? I also don’t recall Oklahoma being in the Big 12 North at any point.

Exactly my point.  That meant Nebraska couldn't play them every year.

Wait... do they, or do they not want to play Oklahoma?  I get so confused about what Nebraska wants from one day to the next. Whatever the case, I am certain that Texas is to blame.

And there was definitely no way for them to advocate for what they wanted in the Big 12 so they HAD to leave.  The Big 12 would have never entertained the idea of say permanent cross division rivals, especially if Oklahoma and Nebraska both wanted it.

Nebraska fans DO want to see the Nebraska-Oklahoma game and not everything involves Texas.  I hope this clears up your cornfusion.

Do you have a link of when that cross division was offered in an attempt to get Nebraska to stay?  Otherwise, you are just constructing nonsense in order to be angry about something.

Nebraska just fucking left without trying to do anything.  Then you blamed unequal revenue sharing, which you voted for, as the reason for being unsatisified.

You left because you were butthurt about your program falling off, and the Big 10 was offering a boat load of money.  Nebraska never attempted to really fix anything once they saw a different option.

Now you're mired in a wallow of self-inflicted shit watching your old punching bags (the Big 8 ag schools in particular) all attain much higher levels of success without you around than you've achieved since leaving.
