$2 billion.  Going to hazard a guess, but I suspect he wants $1-1.5 billion of that to get out of debt.

Yep. I think $1.75 billion of that will go into the Trump family pocket to pay his existing debt.

Quote

Following his meeting with President Trump on Friday, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said in a Facebook interview with Right Side Broadcasting News today that he’s praying that the military presence in Washington is part of Trump’s plan to retain power.

In Lindell’s interview—which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on Facebook in just a few hours—he recounts the details of his meeting with the president and rattles off a series of unintelligible conspiracies in a Minnesota lilt.

Quote

“You know I’ve been looking down every hole for election fraud since November 4th and about eight or nine days ago this proof came out. One-hundred percent footprints from the machines of the machine fraud,” Lindell said. “I wanted to get it to the president. This is it. This shows that Joe Biden lost: 79 million for Donald Trump and 68 million for Joe Biden.”

When asked about the president’s reaction to this Lindell replied, “I said I talked to the guy. This is real. I said it’s got the IP address of the computer that it came out of. It also has the latitude and longitude like over in China this went over there came back and it shows the number of votes flipped. And he was very intrigued looking at it. . . . He goes, yeah like we all knew that right.”

Quote

Lindell said that the notes which included the words “insurrection act” and “martial law” were just part of a menu of legal options that was presented to the president. He said that the menu item that most intrigued Trump was the suggestion that he could order Facebook and Twitter and Google to reinstate all of the banned accounts.

After sharing this “proof” of fraud and the legal options Lindell said that the president asked the nation’s national security advisor Robert O’Brien to take him upstairs and share this information with the lawyers.

Quote

Lindell said he left the White House deeply deflated by the lawyers’ nonplussed reaction to his blockbuster “evidence” and O’Brien’s objection to the notion that Trump has the power to unban all social media accounts unilaterally. He was further distressed by the “piranhas”in the press corps who were criticizing the meeting.

The National Security Advisor meeting with a crack addict turned bed cushion magnate who sponsors a far right extremist media empire a week after a domestic terror attack on the U.S. Capitol is concerning in its own right.

Quote

But in the interview Lindell went further to specifically call for military intervention to keep Trump in power.

When the Right Side Broadcasting News interviewer suggested that “people are hoping that this military presence is a response” to the election fraud, Lindell replied, “that’s where my hope lies.”

Here’s a selection of the crazy from Lindell’s interview:

Spoiler

Lindell: It was the security advisor Robert O’Brien. He brings me upstairs. And the president said, bring him up to lawyers, show ‘em this and come back down. . . . They bring me back downstairs and I wait about 10 minutes. . . . I had the stuff in my hand which I was now bringing it up to the lawyers. . . . I sat down with the two, the one lawyer is all upset with me. . . . I show them all this . . . you can see who did it, on the computer, how many votes were flipped…

Lindell: This is an attack on our country by China and other countries that did this to us…

Lindell: So I left there with a deflating feeling. . . . Mike Lindell wants the truth to be told to everyone in this country and everyone in the world to show that this was the biggest election fraud in the history of the world as far as I’m concerned. . . . We got videotape of them shredding all the ballots made in China and an invoice from China. . . .

Lindell: God’s got His hands in all and all this stuff will be revealed. And the longer it goes on you are finding more of the rats that pop up, the evil . . .

RSBN Interviewer: What about…the Insurrection Act or Martial Law?

Lindell: Four pages that I brought to the president which was that evidence for the big machine switch. . . . Here’s all his options he could do. Basically it laid out all the options. One of the things the president really liked on there was Google, Facebook, Twitter he has the authority to order them to put everybody’s back intact their Facebook and their Twitters back. . . . He turned to that Robert O’Brien and said “Yeah we could do this.”

RSBN Interviewer: What is your sense of the presence of the military here? Is it over the top?

Lindell: I don’t understand it. You know there’s like three people and every other person’s a military guy. . . . We’ve all had our prayers going, “Gee maybe somethings gonna be done that this president is willing to say hey we’ve been attacked by another country cause we have. Our countries been under attack for a long time.”

RSBN Interviewer: I think people are hoping that this military presence is a response to what you just said.

Lindell: That’s where my hope lies. . . .

Lindell: One more thing. . . . You can’t hide this. I don’t care how much they corrupt the media and take away our platforms, there’s 100 million people that know our nation’s been stolen.”

Just like most stuff. If you ain’t exactly like “me” you are evil. I was exposed to this about “christian” religion growing up. Made me never want or need “religion”. It is basically a form of racism.

These fucking idiots realize that $2.0bn is more than the last 7 presidential libraries combined, right?

Shit, I hope he pulls it off...these people deserve to be robbed one last time.  It'll end up being a few interactive kiosks and a gift shop at Florida Atlantic University.  Total cost of actual construction and G&A will be something like $100mn.  Rest of it will mysteriously disappear.

I get, really get the sentiment.  The problem is, it won’t do any good.  They are too brainwashed to see it.  The sky is not the same color in their world.

No facts you can present make a difference.  With my parents I get the extra crazy religious stuff added to it.  So their political nuttiness started with Pat Robertson.  They think Nixon was treated too roughly.  Rush Limbaugh confirmed how right they were about it all.  Then came Fox and apparently now OAN.  The “liberal” media has always been something they griped about.  Rush and Fox amped it up, but it was already there.

As much as possible our conversations never touch politics.  Why bother?  We don’t live on the same planet.   It’s a lost cause and for me fighting about it doesn’t do any good.

Yeah...that would be a safe bet. His dream was to go out in a blaze of glory, a pile of brass shell casings at his feet. He even had a tacky sign in his garage that expressed that wish. They took his guns away from him for good last May after the MIL recorded on her phone one of many instances when he was drunk & fucking around with his Glock. He had no recollection of it the next morning.

Let's just say that the MAGA hats and Trump 2020 stickers were on full display in the parking lot. The good thing is most of the hayseeds couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without having to sit down & catch their breath.

I will almost always pos rep anyone using the term “hayseed.”

To be clear, Trump’s team is openly calling for a military-backed coup. After the events of last week, they’re doubling down on a violent coup.

The GOP has given up on electoral wins. They intend to take/hold on to power by other means. They are the most dangerous terrorist movement we’ve ever seen.

Coup take 2 and here I am bothered by how the article used the word “nonplussed.” From context, I think they mean “not plussed,” which isn’t a thing, rather than traditional definition of bewildered. I’m not sure though; it could go either way and neither really makes all that much sense. I resent that this word has been so damaged and it’s just another terrible American thing.

It’s going to be very, very hard to get any accredited university to accept anything with the name Trump on it. Look at the blowback SMU got for Bush 43, and he didn’t try to destroy OUR democracy.

If he wants a school some place like Liberty is his best bet. I don’t think NARA has any requirement that the archives be at a college, so I think it will be a stand-alone facility that is 90 percent gift shop.

And the best site, obviously, is Four Seasons Total Landscaping.

Mail-in ballots will be deemed "not real votes", there will be claims of a "stolen election" while mail-in ballots are being counted after Tuesday. not good.

It may get very ugly.

There will be no library.  All the money will go into Trump's pocket.  The crazy $2 billion was thrown out there to use as an excuse to not build anything.  "We don't want to start construction until we're fully funded..."

Joint Chiefs made it pretty clear that no nukes would be launched before 1/21.

Meanwhile, the DOD head is trying to force the NSA to take on a Trump loyalist, and apparently the military ignored him:

https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/16/politics/nsa-counsel-michael-ellis-christopher-miller/index.html

Quote

The acting secretary of defense is trying to install a Trump loyalist as the top lawyer at the National Security Agency, according to three sources familiar.

Christopher Miller, who just two days earlier said he couldn't wait to leave his job, ordered the head of the NSA to install Michael Ellis as general counsel by 6 p.m., Saturday, but NSA Director Gen. Paul Nakasone did not act by the given deadline, leaving it unclear what Miller or the White House would do.

That's not shady as fuck.

But wait, it gets even shadier

Quote

Before joining the Trump administration, Ellis served as the head counsel to California Rep. Devin Nunes, one of Trump's staunchest supporters. Ellis then became a lawyer with the National Security Council, refusing to testify as part of the House's 2019 impeachment inquiry. In March 2020, Ellis became the senior director for intelligence on the NSC, joining other Trump loyalists in key intelligence positions.

We aren't done yet, why is this happening at the last minute?

Quote

But the attempt to shift Ellis to the NSA is different, because the general counsel at the country's largest intelligence agency is a civil servant position, not a political appointee. This makes Ellis harder to fire once the Biden administration comes in, the sources said, adding that the strategy is called "burrowing."

An obvious and easy "other."

Then the "murder of Christ" and probably associated blood libel and the Inquisition, etc.

"Assimilated" or irreligious Jews are a relatively modern development.

The Jewish thing has always been strange to me.  I didn’t know anyone who identified as Jewish until I went to UT and they had their own fraternities and sororities.  I certainly went to school with some prior to that, but it wasn’t a thing.

trumpkins abandoning trump

Quote

In online havens for MAGA extremists, including Gab, CloutHub, MeWe, Telegram and far-right message boards such as 8kun, the tone toward Trump is shifting. HuffPost reviewed thousands of messages across these platforms and found that a growing minority of the president’s once-devout backers are now denouncing him and rejecting his recent pleas for peace. Some have called for his arrest or execution, labeling him a “traitor” and a “coward.” Alarmingly, many of those who are irate about Biden’s supposed electoral theft are still plotting to forcibly prevent him from taking office — with or without Trump’s help.

My dad was pretty far gone for a while. They had some glitch in their cable service so he started watching only news he could find in YouTube. I don’t know if it was because his iPad is a hand me down from me or some other weird event but the algorithm took him down an Anti-Trump path. My brother says he saw him watching multiple Daily Show clips mocking Trump and laughing along with them.

Maybe there social media algorithms worked in my favor this time. Pretty scary shit. My dad isn’t some uneducated rube either. He had a PhD in Physics.

Just cross-posted this in the Rudy thread:

Quote

A onetime top adviser to the Trump campaign was paid $50,000 to help seek a pardon for John Kiriakou, a former C.I.A. officer convicted of illegally disclosing classified information, and agreed to a $50,000 bonus if the president granted it, according to a copy of an agreement.

And Mr. Kiriakou was separately told that Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani could help him secure a pardon for $2 million. Mr. Kiriakou rejected the offer, but an associate, fearing that Mr. Giuliani was illegally selling pardons, alerted the F.B.I. Mr. Giuliani challenged this characterization.

All this Jewish talk based on a 40-year ethnic joke from a spoof movie written, directed, and produced by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and David Zucker.
