Identifying Trump rioters

The WaPo story about the insurrectionist from Wylie “suddenly becoming really interested in politics” the last four years, threatening to kill his kids if they turn him in, was pretty sad.  Sort of the turned to 11 version of what we read on here of everyone recounting their stories of their old man abandoning reason and becoming trumpists out of the blue.

I think the only thing they actually do at the Southern Baptist convention is decide what to boycott. Throughout the 90s religious groups boycotted a ton of shit because it wasn’t “moral” like Murphy Brown because she was an un wed mother and Married with Children and later that shitty Ellen show.

You would think Trumpkins should remember the Kathy Griffin shit over a single tweet

to hear them complain about is just...

It's interesting for sure, how effective the last four years has been for the radicalization the right. Yet, it was effective enough to win the Presidency or keep the House or keep the Senate.

The former air force lady who died during the insurrection was similar. She voted Democrat not too long ago.

It started long before that, but good people were still running things and called out bullshit when warranted. Today they amplify it.

Those examples are at least about the messages they conveyed.

Right-wingers also boycotted Disney because Disney was one of the first large corporations to give benefits to domestic partners.  They were so worried about about whether a gay person got dental insurance, they kept their kids from watching kids movies.  (And there are still some right-wingers boycotting Disney based on their "agenda".

My wife family was in it at that time. There still a bunch of movie references and simple songs that were on the radio that simply go straight over her head. It’s like she was cloistered or lived in a forgiven county until 7th grade.

Always worried about what they were supposed to hate.

My first awareness of the SBC was in high school, when they decided to boycott convenience stores until they pulled porn mags off the magazine racks (or as it ended up, covered them).  Cancel culture indeed.

Man, this is bleak.

I mean, it's funny to laugh at him and everything, but it really makes me ragey because this guy is a victim of a class of college-educated right-wing grifters. His life is ruined because they have a product to sell and he was unlucky enough to be born an idiot and then a recipient of a head injury. I don't believe this man is a hateful person.

Fucking bastards.

The good thing about all these guys is that they have spent years broadcasting their every thought. So if Joshua's "Be a Simple... Kind of Man" deal is for real, it'll be known. If it's just a schtick and he's a charming criminal (there have been one or two of those) then that'll come out too.

As for the Profiles in Courage who stoked him and the rest up, we gotta take all their money.

Eh, lighten up Francis. I think she was just trying to be funny and deal with the shock...This is a little beyond "The Pelosi Laptop Thief went to my stepmom's cousin's school so this hits close to home" type crap.

Eh, its the gen z equivalent of telling your friends that you once knew that person. And another one of the huge problems with social media. What used to be an off the cuff comment to someone you know can now become a global comment to everyone in the world.

I remember when that happened. I was surviving College Station, so was already in a bad mental state. To fight back against the derp, I went to the record store in the mall and bought each one of the Dixie Chicks' albums.

Maybe listened to them once, because they kinda sucked.

We broke the back door of the capitol building down and forced our way in, but besides that, no damage caused!

The privilege just continues to ooze off of these people.

Somehow I did not have lesbian on my bingo card.

If the Trumpkins were to seize power, they would start autocannibalizing so fast it would make your head spin.

It's one big tent of grievance for now.  It would become thunderdome octagon almost immediately.

That's why I actually support Parler.  They can't help but hate. Let them hate each other.

Two others were also rounded up in Beverly Hills.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/beverly-hills-doctor-who-pushed-trumps-favorite-covid-19-drug-arrested-in-riots

On the right:

A Beverly Hills doctor who’s publicly criticized the coronavirus vaccine and advocated for hydroxychloroquine as a treatment against the deadly virus has been arrested in connection with the Capitol riots.

Dr. Simone Gold, 55, was among three Los Angeles residents who were arrested on Monday in connection with the insurrection. Gina Bisignano, the 52-year-old owner of Gina’s Eyelashes and Skincare, and 37-year-old John Strand are also facing charges.

Gold garnered national attention in July when she organized a press conference on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court to condemn pandemic lockdowns and rave about how “hydroxychloroquine works” as a treatment for COVID-19.

On the left:

Gold also admitted she went to Jan. 6 event with Strand, the communications director for America’s Frontline Doctors. Strand and Gold were pictured in a photo circulated by the FBI. The doctor told the Post she was fired from her job as an emergency room physician for two hospitals in July after her speech—and has not worked as a medical professional since.

The complaint states federal authorities received many tips that the pair participated in the riots, including several photos of them inside the Capitol building.

They filmed it and took selfies of them doing it. They bragged about it to friends and posted about it on social media. It made them feel proud, strong, and powerful. They felt like patriots.

Did they think they had immunity because Trump told them to do it? How did they possibly think there wouldn't any adverse consequences?
