I'm seeing this "gotcha" flying around right wing social media.  No, Josh, it's not unethical or a conflict of interest for professionals to pay money to attend a conference in which they'll learn about government loan programs they want to take advantage of, you mewling sack of shit.

Mitch McConnell warns GOP senators they’ll face ‘incoming’ if they back Hawley bill to limit corporate giving in campaigns

What nefarious Hawley angle am I missing here?

Maybe he thinks corporations are going to start backing Ds, and he knows that small dollar donations are the future of Rs?

Yep, that's all this is about.  GOP types in the House like Hawley just kicked McCarthy and Emmer to the curb.  Both those guys were excellent at corporate and trade group fundraising.  They made a lot of money for their party and secured an awful lotta seats.  McConnell sees what happened and knows that his chance to cement generational wealth for his family has a quickly closing window.  And Hawley types are fucking it up.

It's not that McConnell is above taking disability checks from stupid white people in the South and West in exchange for political relevance.  It's just that he knows it's easier and more efficient to take it from the Dollar Store and Hobby Lobby where they shop instead.  The man has a code.  It's twisted, but at least it's an ethos.

Redraw the lines, suppress voting, broadcast misinformation, embrace the stupid, validate the moronic, flame the hateful, and enable the blame.  It's not a great model, but it''ll do until for them until they're dead.

In what world does McConnell not already have that?   He's worth around $35,000,000.   How is that NOT generational wealth?

I wonder if Josh cleared this with his donors first.  Wouldn't seem like it.  Also, LOL at the "fancy universities with powerful donors."  Like Stanford, maybe?

YES, that's the right idea, put religion first.  Then we can justify butchering one another as religious fanatics have done for centuries.  Just make sure Hawley is first to go and at least one problem is  fixed.

“Christian economy”

Checks notes: Jesus has no possessions or money and was highly critical of those who made profit off others.

But in the modern MAGAot world putting “Christian” in front of anything simply means “privileged white man”.

but it's a cowboy church!
