Garlin has a few Harvey Weinstein type issues.

I thought he made inappropriate jokes on the set of the Goldbergs? Was he full on sexually assaulting women?

I love the show, but man I miss Funkhouser. Just a different vibe when Larry is having lunch at the club with the fellas.

How many of you will boycott CYE if she stays on the show? I could give a shit. The show went down a peg when she and Larry divorced.

It’s telling that you’re bringing up a boycott if she stays on the show but not if Garlin does.

Fuck Huuuuuuugh.

Csb; in the early years of the show and my career, worked at an investment bank.  Sense of humor of the office was about as fucking as you’d think. Me and one other guy were huge Seinfeld/curb fans.  One day a guy named Hugh was hired.  And we’d say Fuck Huuuugh every time we saw Him.  We were both written up by HR and had to watch sensitivity training online.

Yeah, the dynamic of him and Cheryl was awesome.  I’m watching no matter what.  They have given him fun new storylines as a single.  But I still love when she shows up.  I’m in no matter what.

i tried finding some actual info, accusations, details on what he did and couldn't find anything specific really.

references to 'misconduct' and an HR complaint, but no charges or lawsuits. accusations he was 'disparaging and disrespectful on set'...he would 'intimidate and demean' crew members... sounds like he was a general asshole and bully to everyone, not just women, nor explicitly sexual. dick.

I find it difficult to believe he got shitcanned for being an asshole, rude, or irritating. He’s the star. I’d surmise a lot of rich actors are assholes on set and they are tolerated.

It’s something else. Either he did something sexually, paid off the victim and got a nda with an agreement to leave, or he made a comment very unPC that created a microaggressions storm.

Neither Jerry or Larry could ever quite play the deadpan straight man.  They could play the everyman in a straight way, but they were both always just a little too goofy and eccentric (in a good way, that was their voice and originality as writers and comedic actors).

And in Bob Einstein, Larry saw his true gift from completely off-color incest jokes, to physical shenanigans, to being the moral compass of the CYE boys crew.  He was the absolute perfect choice for that role, which I think only existed because they knew Bob Einstein.  Not like anybody else on this planet would play Leo F. in any other universe.  We all miss him from the already but I am thankful that Bob got to have that wonderful role in the last years of his life after such a gloriously varied, if underappreciated, career spanning generations.

While we're at it:  Undervalued secondary and tertiary characters on Curb?  GO!  Golf Club Manager, Mr. Takahashi.  I don't know why, but the second he's in frame, before he can open his mouth...I'm crying laughing with my wife looking at me like, "What the fuck is wrong with you?  He's not trying to be funny."  And therein lies the rub.

There's a documentary about Bob Einstein.  Running on HBO tomorrow night.  As I understand it, Seinfeld, Steve Martin, and everybody from CYE take part.

Wasted an hour this morning watching YouTube clips. Well, not all of it was wasted, as I stumbled across this little gem.

RIP, Bob.

Its an ensemble cast. Lots of children on set. He’s expendable and got fired. There is no indication there was any criminal complaints, but just a pattern of behavior over years.

Larry David says: "As 'Curb' comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this 'Larry David' persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character."

The accompanying sex scene is absolutely hilarious also.

You zionist pig! You occupying fuck!  Fuck me like Israel fucked my people!

This is my favorite exchange in the entire series.  The first time I watched this episode, I was eating, and started choking because I was laughing so god damn hard I got a chunk of food stuck in my windpipe.

I need to go back and revisit but I think my favorite season was the one with Mocha Joe's vs Latte Larry's (the spite store season).

That's a great one.  I liked the one that follows it alot, too.  That's the one where Larry gets extorted by the family of the girl who can't act for shit.

The best part was Funkhauser downstairs listening to it, then repeating it to Larry.

Wait, which Funkhauser was it?  I can't picture that scene.  Super Dave or Vince Vaughan?

I've said it a dozen times and I'll say it again, how Larry David can insert almost anyone to either play themselves or a fictional character into that show from season to season.  Give them a vague outline pretending to be a script, throw them into the mix, and have this tidy denouement at the end that just hilariously sticks the landing.  I mean, this will be studied as high level literature one day decades from now.  People think he's just this curmudgeon old Jew.  And he is.  But what he began with Seinfeld and what will end apparently next Spring is Shakespearian level wit.  And that he tries to downplay it makes it even better.  Even if every episode is not doubled-over cracking up in humor, it's the most genuine genius we will see on the small screen in our lifetimes.  I assure you, you beloved cunts.

This thread caused me to go into Curb binge mode. Season 8 is outstanding. It had Palestine Chicken and the New York episodes. Even though I hate Rosie O’Donnell, the episode where she and Larry are after the same woman is great. The baseball metaphors about juicing when Larry takes Viagra in order to compete are hilarious.

Jeff Green is in the trailer, so I guess he didn't get the boot? Cool, he's important to the show, and I would have missed him.

Cheryl is in there too, I thought the RFK jr stuff might get her written out of the show.

Can't wait for another season, but sad to see it end. Although, this is one of those shows that I could see coming back in a year or two after HBO realizes what they had. Back up the Brinks truck and get them to come back for 1-2 more seasons.

LD's garage is already filled with Brinks trucks.   He's one of the very few guys that has "fuck you" money and also has a "fuck you" attitude.   He'll do what he wants to do.  Money isn't gonna change his mind.
