Anybody out that way. We have friends that had to evacuate, but they didn't lose their home.

Emergency personnel are fighting a wildfire in Bastrop County that has grown to 100 acres Saturday, says Bastrop County Emergency Services District No. 2.

The Texas Forest Service says the fire is 15 percent contained.

Residents who live in the area near Cassel Way and Kelly Road West were ordered to evacuate.

A Facebook post from Bastrop County ESD 2 says the 50 firefighters on scene have been able to fight the fire around every home, and none have been lost so far. Fire Chief Josh Gill says there were 15 structures threatened, and 24 had to be evacuated.

"Texas Parks and Wildlife said it was doing a prescribed burn in the area at Bastrop State Park earlier Tuesday, along Park Road 1C."

So, its really dry and its really windy.  Seems like a great time to do a prescribed burn.

A controlled burn is like a controlled fart.  It can turn to shit real quick.

wait. They warn about increased wild fire condition being bad today but they go ahead with a prescribed burn? They could have postponed that for a better day. Now it is up to 600 acres. Way to go, morons.

Looks like it was Texas Parks & Wildlife.

I dread the day that lightning or another source strikes the ranch we hunt on and the place catches fire.

The place has so much deadfall and underbrush trash it will burn like no other.  It really does need a good burn off and it will be massive when it happens.

I was lucky enough to have a neighbor next to our ranch burn brush on a red flag day 3 years ago. We lost several oaks that were struggling with the drought and it burned 50 acres or so. Thankfully the winds were in our favor and the VFD saved all our structures. We had fire 50 feet behind our barn...

I cant imagine the idiocy that went into green lighting this burn.  Stupid
