I enjoyed it well enough, but agree it would have been better as a series to learn more about their role in history and about them in general. Realism doesn’t matter to my enjoyment, but in addition to the tsunamis and gravity thing mentioned above, I also don’t think a being that large would have their entire face visible in a relatively small part of the ocean.

Broader thought, I might just be jaded by age or whatever, but I’m sort of tired of the trope that humans are worth saving even though we do bad things. If our place in this vast universe was to hatch a godlike creature after a few billion years, so be it, just make it quick, please. It doesn’t even make a difference to me if we are “worth” saving. Shit happens, I wouldn’t expect eternal beings who have seen almost every human in history die of one thing or another care that much.

I did enjoy it and would watch it either way to keep up with the MCU. Spider-Man is next I think, hope it hits Disney Plus soon.

It won’t bc it’s Sony.  It goes theater -> DVD/rental market -> Starz. Disney+ won’t get the Sonyverse movies until 2023 I think?

Netflix will have first rights to streaming now over Starz.

Then Disney will have non exclusive access.

That means new Sony films will hit theaters first, then paid rentals and purchases, then Netflix, and then finally head over to Disney platforms, possibly including Disney Plus.

Good to know, since I have both Netflix and Disney+, but not Starz

I watched this in "4D" with my son and nephew.  Three hours of getting punched by my chair and sprayed in the face by water was not fun.

You should watch a porno in 4D.  I could only last 5 minutes, which, on its face, is a long time for a porno, but yeah, it's something else.

Was there another Marvel movie that did?

I'm aware of Legion, but that was a TV series, and I didn't think it was MCU.

In the actual move the song was "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce.  Thus the Castle Face gif.

The ensemble cast in this trailer feels tired. Questlove guy being funny, Danish and an old Angelina Jolie who exhausts me with her whole deal. I'll have to hear from you guys if this is worth a watch.

Finally saw this, despite everyone saying it sucks, and well. Y’all were right.

Shang Chi was good and Spider-Man just made $1B. Marvel is fine.

Lol. You are making my point. Spider man would be a big name - and is my point.

No where did I show any concern about Marvel’s finances — only about the popularity and take rate of fringe, less known superheros. I am not sure they will sell as well.

but they will probably sell better than an original movie. So hollywood will make.

The same thing was said about The Guardians of the Galaxy. You really couldn't get more fringe than those heroes. Disney/Marvel will keep making movies and keep using "fringe" heroes, all they have to do is hit with some and make bank.

Yeah, look at this Moon Knight show that’s about to drop on on D+. I’ve never heard of that character and I’m guessing most on this site haven’t either. But they cast a pretty big name and will throw a bunch of money at it and boom, there’s your next Avenger.
