Building model tanks, planes, ships etc

Recommended Posts

I’ve been thinking the same. Used to assemble and paint model planes as a kid. Now I spend a good chunk of my day checking to see what somebody on the internet thinks about something.

The real fun was a couple years after building a model, and you needed new space on your desk or ceiling you used an older model for target practice, and jr. pyrotechnic exercises.

In my childhood there were two HMS Hoods. The full-size one that the Bismarck sank, and the model one that my friend David blew up in the drainage ditch by the railroad tracks. I was randomly fascinated with finding that shattered model, and went after it like the treasure of Oak Island. I think maybe one turret showed up before we switched to catching crawdads.

There's something to be said for the old Aurora kits from the 60s. You could build 5 complete kits before you'd reach 100 parts.

By the way, painted gauges? Respect to your cray.

Its a decal set over molded gauges, but yea...luckily I got it on the first try
