MANCHESTER United fans across the world were ecstatic Wednesday morning with the news that a player they first heard of yesterday, had finally signed for the club.

“Been following this lad closely for the past 24 hours. Looks a proper talent,” read one of many #MUFC twitter posts.

“He can play anywhere, that’s the beauty of the lad,” wrote another Red Devils fan who definitely knew Dalot’s natural position.

On Youtube, Manchester United fan pages posted various compilation videos of the new star signing’s over 9 senior appearances, with comments ranging from “finally got our man” to “always looked like he belonged in a red shirt”.

Google search results for “who the fuck is Diogo Daot” rose sharply yesterday, approximately 35,000%, but United fans were quick to display an array of knowledge about their new Portuguese signing, entirely limited to his Wikipedia page.

lol if Bayern think they're getting anything close to that

He is under contract through next year, they dont have to sell him, and Bayern management is excellent at negotiations. I think the most they have ever paid for a transfer is 60 something million Euros off the top of my head. I dont think they will get 200 but they will fleece some disphit oil money team.

Sporting Lisbon are about to lose all of their players to free transfers.

50 masked fans attacked them on their training grounds last month after they failed to qualify for the CL. Players demanded the club president resign and he hasn’t so they are invoking a “just cause” due to physical violence against them.

So Sporting this year had probbably the best squad in the league and good chances of finally winning the Primeira Liga after 17 years.

In January we were on the fight for 1st place when we drew a game with Vitória de Setúbal and the president started sending phone messages to the players saying that he had to be assisted at the hospital because of his frustration and that it would hopefully be the last time this would have happened this season, nothing too bad, just kind of a wake up call but being aggressive already, like, can't they fail?

Keep in mind that at this point we were on Portuguese cup, Europa League, fighting for 1st place on league and had won the league cup, so it couldn't be much better.

Then, we won a game 2-0 for the league and he sent a message saying that they were posh, arrogant, cocky and too important to people who were 'below' them just because in the game photo at the beginning they did not make a heart shape with their hands, they simply forgot.

After we lost the UEL QF first leg against Atleti 2-0 with 2 incredible defensive mistakes and some very good goal opportunities failed. He decided to criticise the squad on facebook very hard. The players did not like it and posted on social media a text saying that it is normal do fail sometimes, that they are giving everything to win and that we had still very good chances of success in all competitions.

Bruno de Carvalho suspended all the players because of the post and oppened disciplinary proceedings to the ones who posted that and didn't make the heart shape with the hands! Then had a meeting in were he shouted at the manager, captain and sub-captain because they were the 'leaders' of the 'revolt' the squad was doing. After that we made a amazing game against Atleti at home but only won 1-0 so we were eliminated.

As the season came to an end we were out of the fight for 1st place but still could be 2nd on the league (we had to win or draw 0-0 with Benfica at home and then on the last matchday do the same result as Benfica) and go to UCL next season (wich was not that good but was not as bad as being 3rd and going to UEL, especially because of the money reward) and had the portuguese cup final to play against a much inferior team. We drew 0-0 against Benfica and lost the last game 2-1. The team played really bad, something that had been happening almost every game (because the players were massively tired and fed up with the president's stuff).

2 days after a group of 50 people entered the training facilities of Sporting and attacked the players, some say the president was linked to it some say he wasn't. After an outrage like that the players still decided to play the final that was 5 days after that and lost, I believe not on purpose, because they were crying and fought very hard to win, they just didn't have their heads on the game with all that happened and only made 1 training session since the other game.

So since then Patrício terminated contract after Bruno fucked his transfer to Napoli (he fucked Adrien to Leicester last season, because of 14 seconds) and he did the same with Gelson. I understand them perfectly, they want to stay but they will only stay if Bruno leaves. Sorry for any error

TLDT; Bruno sent messages and threats to the players after bad results. The players were atacked by ultras and lost the cup final and ended up 3rd on the league. They are fed up with the president and are terminating their contracts

Perhaps this is who Liverpool was looking to after the Fekir deal fell through.

21.45 BST: Amid interest from Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, Fiorentina have upped the asking from for 20-year-old attacker Federico Chiesa from £44 million to £62 million, talkSPORT cites Gazzetta dello Sport as reporting.
