MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Police Department responded to 10 separate shootings in less than 12 hours Friday, May 13.

Three people died and 25 were injured – including 17 shot and injured during one incident near Water and Juneau.

91st and Marion

Around 12:30 p.m., police said a 24-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital for treatment.

22nd and Keefe

Shots rang out around 45 minutes after the shooting near 91st and Marion. Police said a 23-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to the hospital. The Milwaukee County medical examiner said he later died of his injuries.

7th and Capitol

A 42-year-old Milwaukee man shot and taken to the hospital around 1:30 p.m.  He is expected to survive.

25th and Hadley

Shortly after 4 p.m., a 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was shot. The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police continue to seek unknown suspects.

Vel R. Phillips and Vienna

Thirty minutes later, police said a 30-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The shooting was the result of a fight.

Lake Drive and Kenilworth

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and taken to the hospital after a shooting around 7:10 p.m. He is expected to survive.

MLK and Highland

Three people – a 29-year-old man, 26-year-old man and 16-year-old girl – were shot and wounded outside the Deer District around 9:15 p.m., shortly after the Bucks game. A 19-year-old man taken into custody.

Water and Juneau

A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was injured in a shooting around 10:30 p.m. He is expected to survive.

Water and Juneau

Just 40 minutes later in the same area, 17 more people were shot and wounded in a separate incident. Ten people were arrested with police seeking additional suspects.

"What happened here in this neighborhood last night will not be tolerated," said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson in a news conference Saturday afternoon.

"There was just open carrying of firearms with utter disregard for life," Assistant Police Chief Nicole Waldner said. "A gunfight broke out among two groups of people. What makes people think that they can just have a shootout on a public street?"

MPD investigates

What led to each shooting is not yet known, and police are seeking unknown suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7360; to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS or use the P3 tips app

That is a very interesting question.

I agree and was about to quote and post the same thing.

Is a shoot out on private property (of the owners) ok?   What about someone else’s private property?  What about a public library?

I can't speak for the OP, but my guess is he started this thread and put 'lol' in the title to highlight the breathtaking hypocrisy and dishonesty of which shootings the self-labeled 'Mainstream Media' (sic) obsesses over for days and weeks and the vast majority that they bury or mostly ignore for obvious propaganda reasons.  Any event where the shooter doesn't fit the narrative is quickly dropped or often not even mentioned.

Or the uneven censorship to protect dishonest 'reporting', such as Twitter and most of social media banning links to the racist scumbag Buffalo shooter's manifesto, so that we all are supposed to rely on and take the word of the Mainstream Media's (sic) characterization of it.  They claim it is because they don't want to encourage copycats or promote white nationalism, but it now appears it is to prevent people from easily seeing that it doesn't match how the media is spinning it in their attempts to blame and demonize half the country and to slander and effectively censor many of their ideological opponents.

Without getting into a debate on how much the racist murdering scumbag loser falls into X category or Y beliefs or was influenced by Z, A, or B, I'm posting 2 brief excerpts to simply show how what he wrote doesn't at all match how the Mainstream Media (sic) is portraying it:

Here's a link:

 https://emilkirkegaard.dk/en/wp-content/uploads/spree-killer-manifesto.pdf

...When I was 12 I was deep into communist ideology, talk to anyone from my old highschool and ask about me and you will hear that. From age 15 to 18 however, I consistently moved farther to the right. On the political compass I fall in the mild-moderate authoritarian left category, and I would prefer to be called a populist...

What are your views?

I would prefer to call myself a populist. But you can call me an ethno-nationalist eco-fascist national socialist if you want, I wouldn’t disagree with you....

Being to the right of Marx doesn't mean actually right-wing.  He's a nut, so I wouldn't take him at his word on anything, and it doesn't prove he's left, either.  Debate on that can be done elsewhere.  Again, I'm just showing a few of the parts that refute much of the current media narrative of who he is, who influenced him, and thus who is to blame (who they want permanently censored).

This is exactly why we need less, not more censorship, Twitter and most other social media platforms are once again purposefully enabling blatant dishonest 'reporting', slander, and attempts to establish urban myths by restricting access to actual source docs, in order to advance a false narrative for control purposes.

So yeah, I mourn for ALL the killed, while also frustratingly LOL at the usual shameless hypocrisy of The Media That Cried Wolf.  (Though I would not have put 'lol' in the headline, too easily misinterpreted and too soon).

Now that someone has pointed out and given proof that the media is lying, watch this suddenly get hidden in CR.

frankly i found the string of unrelated shooting reports to be completely and utterly absurd.

i was checking the NBA playoffs result when a byline read something like 'shooting outside Bucks game leave 20 hurt'.  googling 'milwaukee shooting' showed a recap that, over half-a-day in a quiet mid-sized city, "man was shot"; "man was shot"; "man was shot"; "man was shot".

it was the 3rd most absurd thing i'd seen this week.

2nd most: people getting mad that it was posted.

1st most: someone characterizing it as "racist".

yeah, the real tragedy here is lack of 😢 emoji attached to the article.

The real tragedy here is gun violence.   Your lol edit is bullshit, and you should come back and admit your reasons for posting this shit the bed.  People are getting slaughtered and your lol bullshit is not helping.

Surely you feel the same for the Buffalo lol thread?  It actually existed but apparently was wiped.

Making a shitty counter thread to this one by a poster who was trying to make a point (very poorly) about the hypocrisy of this one is not the same.

Did you read the thread before it was nuked? Last time I saw it was maybe 10-15 posts, with all but one or two being a variation of "this thread is stupid".

I did.  Curious why OP is being drug thru the mud here, and the other disappeared no harm, no foul.

Fair enough. I suspect that the other was viewed as just a troll thread hence just deletion, no salvaging for an actual discussion. I don't think this was intentionally started as a troll thread but the OP was dumb and did an effective job of poisoning the well. But discussion is at least possible. Just my thoughts, obviously not a mod. Both @52-80 and whatever his name is (Hollywood colt something or other) were stupid in different ways.

its trendy.

i post a heinous police shooting where *multiple* cops *intentionally* empty their mags into a stopped car, in traffic.  nobody blinks.

another police incident where police trainee *accidentally* fire a gun instead of tazer, and surly goes brimstone and hellfire.

narration over substance…

It's almost as if there's a lot of nuance involved and no two situations are the same, and that your "whataboutism"/attempts to "point out hypocrisy" are just childish internet nonsense and not real attempts to have discussion about these problems, because that might involve *you* actually having to critically think about some position you've chosen in life instead of just coldly posting lol memes about people getting hurt that you didn't actually know.

"I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of the MSM!" That is too rich. There are tens of thousands of people that work in media. But yes, they are all colluding to take away all the things you love. And i'm sure nobody you vote for has any investment or controlling stake in any media properties.🙄

It's pathetic really. We've gotten to the point where we actually think that pointing out something someone else did wrong is a good enough justification for not improving our own selves.

whom exactly do you think i voted for, and whom am i accusing of taking away what i love?

$100 for every answer you get right

my “bullshit not helping” as opposed to what bullshit you are doing that mightve helped?  and what in relation to this are you doing to “improve your self”?

i shared a thing that i found absurb. any commentary on top of that is your psychoanalysis babble and wishcasting. which youve all made explicit.

I mean, i just assumed that this thread was made in response to what happened in Buffalo and media's coverage of it? Or maybe just the media's coverage of mass shootings in general?

Regardless, i don't understand why you'd think the media would react the same way to a domestic shooting the same way as a mass shooting?

why this thread came to be was explained in post #24 - i followed a “milwaukee bucks shooting” search and found the results comically unreal and stupefying.  (unexpected for anything outside of NY/CHI/LA)

anything excess to that is assumptive. and yeah, assumptions seem not in short supply here.

Oh please, you know why.  It's as CR without being CR as it gets.

This thread should be nuked and moved.  It's someone's way of saying "LOL you say you care about gun violence, but not when it's inner city black on black violence!"

This was not a mass shooting?  Pretty sure it falls square into the definition.

I did, I understand why he did it but 2 wrongs don’t make a right. At least this title got changed.

That’s my point. The other title should have been changed, and OP continued to be dragged. Instead it disappeared, and the select few that saw it are the only ones that know it existed.

What appears to have happened was that this thread was created first, and when Imma saw it he did the OP a favor by changing the title rather than deleting it.  Then Hollywood Colt got his panties in a wad and posted a troll thread he titled "Buffalo shooting LOL" in response.  That thread got pulled instead of a title change, presumably because it was clearly a sarc trolling thread rather than posting a news story with a bad headline.

I would say that "OP continues to be dragged" is an unfair mischaracterization of the moderation efforts.
