Books Being Challenged in Eanes ISD

For anybody curious about the books being challenged, and who is challenging them.  Shows what grade levels are involved, who the person is challenging them, etc.

https://www.eanesisd.net/book-challenge

If you sort by person/group, you can see that it's a small number of people making most of the challenges.  I'm sure they read all of the books they are challenging.

Ivana Silva (who appears to be responsible for over 1/2 of the challenges) was also the one that sued Eanes ISD over their mask mandate.  Bitch needs to pick up a hobby or something ...

Multiple somebodies had to review these books, comment on them, and then somebody had to type up a decision and post it online.

Great use of tax dollars.

Would be great if they could throw in a clause that "if we review a book you complain about, and find your complaint lacking, you will pay for our time in reading and reviewing the book, and for the person who types up the decision and posts it online".

The comedy of this all is that neither they, nor their children read. This is just some kept women doing stupid shit instead of getting fucked my the pool boy. It is not doing anything of any real value other than illuminating what books my kid is interested in reading. He heard of this and immediately asked if he could read a "banned" book. Stupid cunts, all of them.

Hey, remember when I was willing to jump on the Fitlump grenade?  I meant it then, and I mean it now.  All this lady needs is a few extra glasses of shitty white zin that I'll call a "Rose'", at the local Best Western, and gents, we're good.

I have to hand it to the Eanes SD. Every book they've completed reviewing, they've decided to keep.

Also, one book on the list, (which they kept) Blended, my 11 yr old read a few years back. She really really liked it, to the point where she was reading me the final chapter out loud as I was driving her home, after giving me a detailed synopsis. She highly recommends it for all, say 9 yr olds and up.

Quote

The district policy indicates the “parent’s ability to exercise control over reading, listening, or viewing matter extends only to his or her own child.” The librarian offers the option for a parent who is concerned about their child’s reading materials to have a note placed in the student’s library patron account, specifying any rules that the parent would like to establish for their child’s library use. Those notes could include requesting a staff member verify the student’s reading selection or requesting parental approval of items checked out.

This should be their only response to all of them.  Fucking busybodies.

I’m a big fan of banned books. Thanks for the reading list for me and my kid!

This. Kids should make a point of reading any book that gets banned. Sort of like how musical artists used to thank the PMRC for putting a parental advisory sticker on their albums because it boosted sales.

I wonder if realtor Brian Talley who specializes selling homes in Eanes ISD is the same Brian Talley who is a racist cunt.

Of course he’s a fucking realtor.

also he was trying to get any book mentioning Black Lives Matter banned. love his answer to this question

Q: What do you believe might be the result in using this resource?

A: Confusion and distress between a parent and a child due to conflicting values related to faith, equality, and the US Constitution.

Still, I think it's great that the district imposes some transparency on this process.  Not sure if that's required by statute or what.

Sarah Moffitt seems grounded.  Her uniform complaint:

“There is not one redeeming or educational thing in this book! The book is pornographic and explicit. This book breaks federal and state laws for distribution of pornography and obscenity to minors.”
