Does this count? Not new per se, yet probably not quite classic...

F it. Here you go:

Too small to get laid in, but you get laid as soon as you get out of it.

Assuming you don't dislocate your hip getting out of the car. I've been in that version, and it is tight for me, a normal-sized person. I've also been in an original GT-40 and it was damn near impossible to get in and out.

How many projects are too many?  Doing a few things that lead to while I’m at it...

new hidden Bluetooth radio behind the dash, paint the dash, new instrument bulbs, new lenses, replace AC, diagnose heater issue, fix door glass and hope new carpet arrives while dash is out.

You gonna put sound deadening in the door panels, and behind the removed dash ?

Maybe I'm just yelling at clouds but dammit, I can't find a second gen Camaro/Firebird for a price that's anywhere close to my budget. They're either total trash or it's just borderline trash for an outrageous price. I just want something I can drive home for under 10K. Judging from the listings I've seen, I need to move to California or Michigan.

Took the Blazer to the paint shop yesterday. I'm going with the original factory black/gray 2-tone with pinstripe. He said give him 6 weeks. Here are a couple "before" shots for future comparison and a picture of the color scheme I'm going for. Ignore the bro wheels and light bar.

Got the seats back from the upholstery shop and installed those. Not a bad job, contemplated doing it myself but decided against it.

My carb guy (woodruff carbs) called and said my carbs are rebuilt and being dyno'd today and will be shipped next week. He set them up to run with my cam and gearing, so pretty excited to see how those do.

After I get the carbs installed and linkage installed I'll take a trip to Alabama and have the motor dyno'd.

Took the driveshaft I picked up last month and pressed spicer u-joints in it then dropped it off at the local driveline shop to have it balanced.

Also finished installing the date coded seat belts.

Before and after. The seats are originally from a brown road runner (see tag, I put it back in the seat)a37aa485e7e1e3274f86bf1a61d51372.jpg024192695636d006fedba60448a1b645.jpgfea5bf3135efb05de907c0e7ea1fd07c.jpgc0a17e1bb66e462448deee5a6d7f3b21.jpg

Nothing a weekend, welder and a 15 rack of beer can't fix.

Never done it before. 17 year old neighbor car buddy is going to help. He has a welder.

Heck yeah, be careful on the heat as the the metal is thin and you'll burn a hole right through it.

Also don't skimp on good floorplans. I'm an AMD fan myself but have used goodmark before. AMD is better fitting though. Here's a few pix of my floor pan experience. a1f19f4611658b9861da63ca066c0d8e.jpg78bf19a1843dc54f0c3bf8bae26289e6.jpg2597d9f83a232e435042a28767904b6d.jpg

Saw this Studebaker Lark VIII today.  I shot a profile shot with my film camera but didn't get one with my digital.  Will post later when I get the roll developed.  The owner was an elderly man from Guadalajara.

I love this kind of car. Keeping a bit of an odd ball like this rolling in 2021 is probably equal amounts grit, love, necessity and insanity. I lift a beer in his honor.

I’m the same way. If you find one in halfway decent shape, it doesn’t have a damn title. That’s scared me off of several late 40-early 50s mode Chevy trucks and a couple of second gen fbodies.

Back to kicking myself for selling mine 10 years ago.

Studebakers are the real deal, cool cars.

My folks used to live on the outskirts of Lorena and their neighbor was THE Studebaker guy in central Texas and maybe all of Texas. He had a big spread, several acres worth, of Studebakers in varying condition. Very cool niche.

Crazy stuff... those seats are insane.

But what's up with the shit-tacular engine area?
Almost no attention paid there.

Also not quite sure how this is driven, I see no pedals. Is it hand operated with the shifter knobs on the left? Butt plug looking switches to the right of the wheel?

Probably. One of my grand fathers was an amputee later in his life, and I drove his car from time to time. It had hand controls for braking, turn signals, and gas on steering column mounted paddles. That was in the late 70's.

Corner of Hardy and Line right across the street from the Food Mart. You love you some 5th-ish Ward.

I know this isn't classic car related, but I value the car experience, and passion here in this thread.

I reserved a two door bronco for purchase at some point between now, and 2022.  It's gonna be my daily driver vehicle.

I've given up on the idea that I'm going to get a hold of a pre-1975 bronco as that market has just gotten stupid expensive.

I've been building a 2 door bronco in several different platforms, but one of the features that's remained consistent is wanting the seven speed manual transmission instead of the 10 sped automatic.

I like a stick shift car, but why would I not want to get the 7 speedmanual transmission as opposed to the 10 speed automatic ? I can handle the truth.

Stick is fun unless you are in traffic or trying to drink coffee on the way to work.  The automatic is supposed to be able to keep you in the power band and be very fuel efficient.  Here is an article on it.

I don't do traffic for work, I can drink a cup of coffee, and drive (psssst ...... cupholders).  Thanks for the transmission article, pretty cool stuff, but it overlooks the fun factor.  Not change in the decision so far.
