So, our Evans suspicions are confirmed, as far as I'm concerned. Georgia just got tired of his fucking shit. He's about the biggest prima donna anyone can remember. Bama and Texas got out of that one and started looking elsewhere a lot earlier than anyone else.

Apparently, Evans is dealing with Buck Fitzgerald, who has a history of funneling guys to LSU, among other places, and occasionally to ATM. He's out Tennessee, played on their national title team in '98, and is a handler/street agent. He's running Reggie Grimes in this cycle as well. Anyway, no clue how a guy at North Shore gets connected to this dude, but it was probably someone with one of the programs directing him into friendly hands for their purposes. No clue is LSU is still interested, but the North Shore staff has zero positive things to say about Evans and they are tight with LSU. One of the NS coaches is also a pretty good friend of UT. Evans has not been a secret to any of these schools. Some are just either more desperate (ATM, Ole Miss) or have a higher appetite for this kind of risk (UGa, Florida).

The Buck Fitzgerald guy is not a good guy for a program like Texas, pre-redirect with the Jay Valai Maneuver. He has a sweet About Us page on his company site if you go check it out. Really well done job there.

Oh so he’s the head of NPA, a group I’m sure Jeremy Pruitt wants to essentially control. I’m surprised Tennessee never made headway with Evans because it seems like a natural fit.

Buck Fitzgerald, CEO.

Looks like a totally up and up and altruistic organization just helping kids realize their dreams.

Edit - Just please overlook the embarrassing reference to off-brand overseas Viagra in the ctj mentioned About Us section.

Buck Fitzgerald played football for the University of Tennessee and continues his passion for the game by running National Playmakers Academy.

NPA is dedicated to helping athletes become the best they can be on and off the field.

WTF, that about us is amazing.  Site must have been hacked and he hasn't noticed

BON article on how this was a program-defining miss for Texas incoming.

Let's revisit the original one just for funsies (the comments are PRICELESS):

Quote

For the second time in just three days, a key Texas Longhorns defensive target is taking his talents out-of-state, as Dallas Bishop Dunne outside linebacker Brennon Scott becomes the latest example with his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks.

Scott’s decision comes just two days after fellow Dallas-area standout Chris Thompson Jr. made a surprise pledge to the Auburn Tigers.

Scott made multiple trips to the Forty Acres throughout the offseason, with his most recent taking place on June 8. Just days after that visit, Scott listed Texas in a top five that also featured Kansas, USC, Oregon, and Auburn.

At the time, his only Crystal Ball pick favored the Horns.

Between then and now, though, Scott officially visited USC in mid-June, and then travelled to Lawrence, Kan. on June 21 to officially visit the Jayhawks, which was seemingly the visit that sparked some quite momentum for Kansas and first-year Jayhawks coach Les Miles. Just weeks later on July 9, the Longhorns landed their top target at the position in Dallas Highland Park product Prince Dorbah, though it’s unclear if that addition hindered interest on either end in this recruitment.

Nevertheless, When Scott took to Twitter on Monday to announce his looming commitment, his lone Crystal Ball pick to Texas almost immediately transformed into a flood a picks favoring the Jayhawks — 12, to be exact.

Now that Scott has proven those projections correct, the Longhorns are limited on remaining offered options at outside linebacker, but could potentially make a stronger push for four-star Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro product Damian Sellers, who’s a teammate of key Texas cornerback target, Kelee Ringo.

Well, your comment suckered me in to checking out the thread and comments. Hot Christ.

That thread and, I assume, that site, are unbelievable. It’s like the island of misfit toys as posters over there. I thought IT posters were sycophantic trash, 247 posters were dumber than a sack of hammers, and Orangebloods posters were simply blinded by the Chris-Farley-Is-A-Chippendale aegis of Geoff Ketchum. And, well, they are. But the BON posters appear to be from another dimension. I haven’t seen ignorance at that level since watching Tom Herman hire his initial staff at Texas.

I feel like we were certain that Scott wasn’t a take from the spring forward. After it got warm in Texas, I don’t ever remember accounting for him as plausible. I do remember laughing when that thread was linked initially, but I never clicked on it. The whole thing is ... breathtaking.

Lol not just the big miss diatribe, but the statement that Scott and dorbah play the same position because both are linebackers.
