Kid never had a dad and has 4 other brothers and sisters. His grandfather was the one he was closest with and he died 2 years ago, and supposedly left a lot of anger within him. Might be why during his peak of recruiting he never smiled or seemed happy. When he picked TCU he said he just wants his grandmother to be able to see him play. Hopefully he gets the college family he needs to succeed at life and/or football. Sometimes it all clicks and works out in the right place like with Ricky.

You really think TCU won a recruiting battle against schools like Tennessee and  A&M for a 5 star talent? There's a reason TCU had never landed a 5 star recruit until today. If Tennessee and A&M wanted Evans they would have opened the bank.

If anything, this makes how A&M handled RB even more egregious. They should have gone all in on Ngata or kicked the tires on other talented RBs like Texas did with Bijan. They prioritized Evans for way too long when it was obvious he was headcase.

It was obvious Evans was a "drop the bag" recruitment based on his initial schools. That didn't just change all of a sudden.

This should be under the definition of talking out of your ass. You don’t have clue one bro

Yes, TCU has a long history of going toe to toe with the top tier of schools and pulling 5 star talent. Nothing to see here.

I don't think TCU paid shit for Evans. Georgia did once, however. TCU landing Evans I literally think is just an amazing confluence of events happening and no one else having a spot for him that was also close to home.

Patterson seems like a weird fit. Isn't Patterson an in your face type coach?

Patterson gets in people's faces when they bring negative attention to him or TCU. Otherwise, he willfully looks the other way no matter how egregious the conduct, especially with star players.

Evans may just be brilliant.  Go get paid from out of state schools where he’ll have to complete just to see the field but then sign with small instate school where he will be the day one starter and they will bend over backwards to deal with his shit.  I’m guessing he’s driving a brand new Georgia red firebird trans am.  SECSEC.

What is it with maroon little brother schools that think of themselves as pseudo-military academies?

Robertson is the complete fucking nut that self-published a book about how dirty Ole Miss recruiting was, while conveniently eliding the fact that half of his sources pretty openly said State paid them as well - he did get a jacket flap quote from Houston Nutt though! : https://www.amazon.com/flim-flam-blind-faithculture-explosive-investigation/dp/0692921826

Will Muschamp talks about his son committing to Georgia

South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp’s son Jackson certainly created a story when he made the decision to walk-on at Georgia to play quarterback. It certainly has the potential to make for a bit of a fun, awkward situation in the Muschamp household.

Originally committed to Colorado State on a full scholarship, Jackson made the decision to flip to the Bulldogs. What does the Gamecocks head coach think of that?

“He won’t tell me anything, I can assure you of that,” Muschamp said on the Paul Finebaum Show. “My observations of him are going to be how he’s doing, how his health is and if he’s happy. That’s all I care about. I appreciate Kirby — Jackson went to camp there and had a really good camp. He had some scholarship opportunities and just felt like that was the best situation for him. He didn’t want to play for dad, certainly not at that position, from a standpoint of — if he plays, it’s because of me. If he doesn’t play, it’s because of me. So I didn’t want to put him in that situation. I felt like if he had played another position, you would’ve been able to get on special teams and do some other things, he would’ve wanted to be at South Carolina. But that wasn’t the case. And I totally understood that, we had this conversation a long time ago. But he’s excited about his opportunity, I’m excited for him. He can talk scheme with his mom, but he can’t talk with me.”

Shortly after Jackson got back home from the visit to Colorado State when he committed, he thought about the distance from home and passing on an opportunity to play at Georgia, that had him thinking about his future.

"When I decided not to go to Colorado State, I did it pretty quickly after I had returned from that visit," he said in February. "I just realized what type of commitment it was to go away from home. I love the people, the coaches, and Colorado State This decision had nothing to do with that. That is a special place."

In the end, the chance to play his college days in Athens was too much to pass on. "Just thinking about it more, that opportunity to go to Georgia, and I have always wanted to go there," he said."They never really stopped recruiting me since I went to camp there last summer. It was just an opportunity I could not really pass up. I am fortunate enough to be in a situation where I could go walk on somewhere like Georgia in the first place. I am super excited about it."

Any decision on his college future was going to be supported by his family and especially by his Dad.   "He was super happy for me. We kind of decided a long time ago that I was going to kind of do my own thing and blaze my own trail, no matter where he was coaching," he said."He knows I love Georgia and how much I wanted to be there, and he was ok with me doing whatever I wanted to do. He was happy when I committed to Colorado State, but he also supports my decision to go to Georgia."

According to the 247Sports composite, Jackson is the No. 97-ranked pro-style quarterback in the class of 2020. He had committed to Colorado State over several offers, including Boston College, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, Samford, Western Carolina, and Wofford.

That’s not suspicious at all.

It makes sense - they have oceans of playing time to sell, he's put together a decent recruiting staf, and they're happy to take JAGs since the roster has a bunch of sub-JAG types.

BREAKING: 2020 Corner Lorando Johnson commits to Baylor

The Baylor Bears appear to have added their second newcomer for the 2020 football season in former LSU commitment Lorando Johnson, a four-star corner back out of Lancaster High School. Reports indicate that Johnson, who did not sign an LOI with LSU this past February, is in the process of enrolling at Baylor for the summer semesters in a plan to be another member of the 2020 Baylor football recruiting class.

Ethan Pouncey out for the year, hip surgery for a CB seems pretty fucking scary long term.
Meanwhile, freshman cornerback Ethan Pouncey will be out for the season after he had hip surgery. Pouncey posted about his surgery on his Instagram account this weekend

Wasn’t he the one who had labrum issues in HS and was gonna get them taken care of when he got here?

What are the odds Evans was actually out due to contact tracing *for a whole month* and not just suspended for doing more dumb shit?

Well, we're clearly going to see this fucker on Saturday. Gary does not play school, he hides behind that private wall.
