It's coming.

I really hope he sews up 1,991 before Milwaukee. The amount of hyperventilating going on by the anti-Bernie Democrats is alarming.

The amount of sweet, sweet tears I'll be here to lap up from the Bernie supporters will be fun when he loses on the 2nd ballot of the convention, following the rules and processes he agreed to by running as a Democrat.

Can someone point me to a simple summary of all of the taxes and spending re-allocations proposed buying Bernie to fund his h/c, childcare, free college, student debt cancellation, green new deal, and jobs guaranty programs?

It will all come from the organization that pays your salary.  They will be liquidated.

Almost like his campaign website has all the information you'd need.

https://berniesanders.com/en/issues/green-new-deal/

https://berniesanders.com/issues/medicare-for-all/

https://berniesanders.com/issues/free-college-cancel-debt/

And I anticipate your response will be "I don't believe that at all he's LYYYYING" in which case I'll think back to when you kept pushing Amy freaking Klobuchar who seriously thinks a couple of tax credits are going to fix the student debt crisis.

I'm stealing this from James Woods twitter account.

Sanders wants a $15 an hour minimum wage and free health care for all.  He was asked how this would be paid for in the debate the other night and answered by raising taxes to 52% for anyone making over $29,000 per year.  Here is what he didn't say.

15 dollars per hour times a 40 hour work week=$600 per week.  $600 per week times the 52 weeks in a year=$31, 200 per year.  31,200>29,000

52% of 31,200 is 16,224.  So anyone with a full time job that pays minimum wage is paying $16, 224 per year for their free health care.  If they make more than minimum wage they will pay even more.  This also means that their net income per year is $14,776 which works out to $288 per week or $7.20 per hour.  Current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.  This is why socialism doesn't work.

If you’re gonna spout out troll lies at least try to make it something halfway believable.

Everything’s free!  Money, alternative energy sources and jobs grow on trees, or haven’t you read through the green new deal highlights?

Yea I thought there’s no way that’s right, and it was confirmed to be (not even) half truth if you do some research. I think it’s bad enough that you will lose your current health care plan, and also potentially pay a 4% tax on income over $29K for shitty government health care plan, no need to make that crap up.

There are plans floating out there for a 52% tax bracket, but only for evil rich people.

And I like James Woods, but Pete’s comments during the debate and this tweet that got shared a billion times is inaccurate. They can just say you will lose your current health plan and pay more in tax to make their point.

Since 2001 our "wars on terror" have cost close to $6 Trillion. Most of that previously  not budgeted for.

There's plenty of cash.  We will print more if needed. No one is calling us in on that.  Sleep tight as you have been these last 2 decades.

The trolls are active tonight. Going after the bern. He really is the front runner.

It pisses me off how much shit we've received on here for being called Bros and blamed for helping deliver Trump because too many of us supposedly didn't vote for her in the general (I don't think a single Bernie supporter here has said they voted for Trump). Now you have actual posters on here who supposedly dislike Trump but are on record saying they will not vote for him and there is virtually no pushback.

I was pro-Bernie in 2016 but didn't vote in the Texas primary because why bother? I did vote for HRC in the general. I guess that vote didn't matter either but it was more of a protest vs Trump than an endorsement of Hillary.

I wonder how many others out there are like me and what that would do to the "Bernie Bros cost Hillary the election" trope.

Again, not a great look.

Here and ready for people like HPSlugga to act like  it is.

Here’s a thought. You can believe that Bernie has the special sauce and will enact true Democratic Socialism/Socialism/Marxism or whatever you’re looking for, and at the same time believe it’s dumb for Bernie to say something like this.

Have whatever thoughts you want, but he's said PLENTY of shit like this throughout his career, an interview on 60 minutes isn't going to stop that from being used against him. Cuba's literacy rate is higher than the United States' as well. Maybe in September or October he's not saying these things as frequently, but we're still months away from Milwaukee and he's going to test how many people actually give a shit about this.

He signed up to get kneecapped.  If he wanted to be fully protected he could have run Indy...you know, just like he designates himself in Congress.

Newsflash, fellow olds: virtually nobody under 45 gives a shit about Castro and Cuba. Most people think it's bizarre and vindictive that we still have an embargo against them, and find it un-American that we as ostensibly free people are forbidden to visit Cuba.

Hits close to home, in 1983 wrote a university paper arguing for rapprochement with Cuba. /csb

One of the things I like about Bernie is he speaks to people like they are literate adults. The way he refuses to play the gotcha game with the press kind of reminds of Greg Popovich, "I don't have time to deal with your bullshit. Ask me a meaningful question."

There isn't anything controversial about what he said regarding Cuba unless you are dumb or intellectually dishonest. He literally prefaced his statement with "We're very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba" and the immediate reaction is "But Cuba is authoritarian."

Besides the Cold War is over. No one really cares about that shit, except ironically the very same people that support Donald Trumpski.

You're alarmed by Democrats who want to beat Trump in the general election?

There is a big difference between being against the embargo (which I am) and praising Castro.  Castro was a ruthless murderer who committed near genocide.

Then don't praise Castro. You can continue to look at the world like you're reading a comic book with heroes and villains. Enjoy.

But if you think everyone else should think like a child, I regret to inform you that most of us realize that the world is a varied and complex place.

The reality simply is that Fidel Castro was not a murderous tyrant ruthlessly oppressing his people. He had a few authoritarian tendencies that should be spoken against and he had some very pro-people agendas that were very beneficial to his people.

Maybe if we had leadership that had a more accurate and nuanced vision of world history and affairs we would get better results all around.

Let's give it a shot.

Lolol. Castro was not a murderous tyrant?  Just a few authoritarian tendencies?

even if you just want to gloss aside the murder and rape of the Cuban people by his hands. You can’t ignore he was terribly corrupt and lead a corrupt regime where high ranking members of the party (and his family members) lived a playboy lifestyle while using secret police to keep the poor and needy oppressed.

I acknowledge all of that. Now what?

I acknowledge many of America's many awful crimes against its citizens, too. Now what?

All nations and leaders are #cancelled? What's your point?

Key example of how treating bad faith criticism with good faith effort is a waste of time.

This dude volunteers to help Bloomberg's team clean up graffiti and read their response to his act.

“Knoxville is a beautiful community and we’ve had an outpouring of support and new volunteers coming into our office to help over the last few days. We certainly appreciate any members of the community who want to pitch in and help, and we hope that Senator Sanders will condemn these acts of vandalism, which echo language and attacks used by his campaign and supporters.”

Holly McCall, Bloomberg Communications Director – Tennessee
