Wife and I started Umbrella Academy. Unlikely disheartened superheroes have to save the world. So far so good. 2 eps in.  Good 80s soundtrack.

It’s a great show. Check out Doom patrol when you’re done.

I used to watch Blind Date on MTV or whatever it was on. That was a good guilty pleasure.

Me too.  I recently discovered they have new episodes of Blind Date on Bravo.  It's not as good as the original run, but it was a fun nostalgic watch.

Just finished watching Disclosure. Pretty good documentary. Every single person interviewed is trans. About trans folk in TV and film over the years. Lots of memories. Worth a watch if you find LGBTQ and specifically trans issues interesting or compelling.

Just finished White Lines. I liked the premise and the setting, but it just didnt come together for me. Kind of hard for me to keep caring bc all the characters were such massive losers. Only one I liked was Boxer. The sister was really unlikeable. Prolly skipping S2.

Time: The Kalief Browder Story

Ugh, this one was just sad to watch. It's amazing how terrible things are and what it takes for change to happen because "power" or "tradition". Also, fuck the NY police correctional department and fuck NY in general.

Yeah that one was real tough to get through.  I'm surprised they featured such a socially awkward, stammering goober.

that was cringey.  lmao when he crossed himself though.

If you like medical documentaries, I recommend "Lenox Hill."  Nine-episode series based upon the hospital system in NYC.  Focuses on specific docs in the ER, Labor & Delivery, and Neurosurgery.  Lots of access to the patient stories, surgeries, hard decisions, etc.  I found it fascinating.  First eight episodes are pre-COVID, and then the last episode dropped yesterday that deals with COVID.

I just finished episode 5 and it got me tore up emotionally and I am watching another episode because I can’t end the night like that.

So I know this is an old show I guess and probably talked about on this thread at some point but just started watching, “The Chef Show” with Roy Choi and John Favreau.  Really enjoying it.  It’s like a more “cheffy” version of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives without having to listen to Guy Fieri but you still get the food porn and more cooking techniques.

I don't want to spoil anything but watch the first episode of "Home Game" if you're a sports fan. Craziest got damn sport I've ever seen.

The second I read this I had a pretty good guess on what it was. I went to netflix and it turned out I was right and watched it immediately. I was hoping it was 8 hours on that and was disappointed when I found out it was an hour on that and hours on other sports.

I had so many questions about it. I would have watched 8 hours too. I wonder if there's a more in depth documentary that goes deeper into the game itself.
Like what happens when you choke/tap a guy out? It seemed to me like there was an honor system where if you get got, you lay there for a bit. How long? Maybe until your team gets the ball back?
I loved the episode but it left me with more questions than I started with. I want to go see it live.

I've made it through 7 of the 8 episodes of Dark season 3 and my mind is completely fucked. There are plot twists in addition to the plot twists from season 2 and plot twists on top of that and in addition to the different worlds existing there are additional loops thrown into the equation. The first season was good, the second season was better and the third season is even better than the second. Can't wait to see what the final episode has in store.

EuroVision. Not recommended but I didn’t mind watching Rachel McAdams for two hours.

Watched it last night, I usually have zero interest in Ferrell movies but this one kept my interest. However, that could have been related to McAdams also.

Cute movie. Love Rachel McAdams.

Spoiler

Eurovision is a big deal for Europeans. Reminded me a little of Best in Show - Eurovision.

Real Eurovision -

100%. On all accounts.

Also fuck Michigan State and their women's gymnastic coach as well. They didn't talk about it very much in the doc but the former coach at MSU also was told about abuse and did nothing.

It killed me to hear them say Nassar was the only nice adult they had contact with because he would sneak them candy and wasn't an asshole. Just awful.

I obviously place all the blame on the parents but holy hell talk about looking past a million red flags because you want your kid to be in the Olympics so bad.

saw all the love for Dark, but I'm struggling to keep at it. S1, the acting, IMO, is horribad. There are too many characters. & they all look alike. Ugly Euros. No offense to the attractive Euros on this board. I obviously wasn't speaking of you. The mystery is good, but when they had to show the characters then & now, in split screen, it looked like a cheesy 80's mystery. Hey wait, maybe it was supposed to look cheesy.

Right at the very beginning of Episode 8 it's explained how everything came to be and it's nothing that was hinted at previously in any season much to Adam's surprise. The third season was a masterpiece and the best of them all by far, Dark progressively became better with each passing season despite the complexity.

Dark S1 and S2 were beautifully written.  I followed the story with each reveal (and I'm generally horrible at plot lines).

2 episodes into S3 and I'm quite lost.

Maybe it's too long of a break since I last watched S2 (which was binged).  Maybe because they didn't give any sort of S2 recap episode.  Maybe because it takes a while for any new season to establish momentum....

I rewatched season 1 and 2 as a primer and enjoyed it much more the second time around as I was not fumbling with the characters etc.

Anyone watch “Alone” on Netflix? I like it better than naked and afraid because it’s not just watching people starve for 21 days. They’re actually surviving. Seems like their snares and traps actually work on Alone

This is a fun show. Hope they get the other seasons on Netflix soon.
