Ted Cruz is a piece of shit

Recommended Posts

AOC cleaned his clock so he's trying to beat up on the loveable but not quite as wily Seth Rogen. But Ted is fucking that up too. By next week I predict an AI bot account will be mercilessly dunking on Ted. After that, someone will accidentally "butt tweet" a string of random letters together that will somehow also own him.

I agree that one positive to keeping Cruz there is he won't be a re-electable incumbent.   He finishes out his term doing stupid stuff that just will bite him in the ass.   I think maybe better to censure him and strip him off of any committees.  Take away any power he has.  Let him walk the halls of congress as a powerless ghost as a reminder to others.   Not that he ever did much to start with for us, other than obstruct.

Yep, he talks like them, eats like them too.  Diet coke!!

So first off, now Cruz is supporting unions?  And secondly, I didn't realize Pilgrim's Chicken had unionized.

So now he's pro union but anti Socialism?  He's pro Jesus but anti Socialism. I don't understand how he doesn't get called out on his hypocrisy at every interview.

This fucking guy.

This picture demonstrates that the soldiers wear masks because they care about his safety and Ted doesn't because he really doesn't give a shit about theirs.  Dirt fucker can't even fake it.

Dude, you are SEVERELY underestimating the shittiness of Texas Republicans.  He'll cruise through the primaries and get elected by 5+ points in the general.

Deep down, I know you are right.  But for my own sanity, I have to believe that at least some of them would see through his shit.    Otherwise it's way too depressing.

it gets better (not really). My congress critter (Pete Sessions) wrote an op-ed about how everything he was doing post general election (stop the steal) was all above board because it's covered under the rules that they're allowed to object. I couldn't stand Bill Flores, but it still chaps my hide that Pete Sessions is an Eagle Scout who has no real understanding of the phrase, "on my honor..." and he still won 55% to 40% over Rick Kennedy.

Back to Cruz:

Not a Pete Sessions fan either. Presented himself as a man of the people and then the second he won he went right back to his old ways. I will say Kennedy ran a horrible campaign. No to very little promotion. Where as Sessions ads were everywhere.

Well, there was no way he wasn't going to present himself as a "man of the people," that's his schtick. I suppose I should feel a little thankful that Freedom Caucus crazy didn't make it out of the primary, but she (Rebecca Swann) caught COVID, or was exposed and that slowed her campaign at a critical time. I did my research on Sessions, and he obviously did his research on the district and knew how to appeal to the large R group here--moving back to the district just to win and then leave again. No different result will ensure than it did with Flores.

Kennedy tried to run a pandemic-respectful campaign and I respect that.

Pete Sessions got run out of Dallas, went to Waco and started telling lies about where he was born and raised, resided.  Maybe not lies, but he sure took a lot of liberties with the truth.   He's a crook, just like Cruz and Cornyn.  Gohmert is just a certifiable loon who loves the attention.

Rick ran the best campaign he could with what little funding he could raise.  He competed in all the debates both primary and general.  He worked the trail hard and drove countless miles.  Remember how gerrymandered his district is in favor or rural red vote.   Like Mrs Whiggins said, he was pandemic respectful.  We had a few outdoor meetings in our county he attended but he did most of his work on Zoom, because we just didn't have a lot of the rallys/mtgs the Red side did.

Rick raised just over 200,000.  Of that only 2,500 was from any PAC.  The rest was all small donations.  Sessions on the other hand raised at least 6 times that and the bulk of his was PACs and big donors.  There was no outside money from the DNC put into Rick's race, as they figured it was a lost cause, and they weren't going to fund something that wouldn't pay off with a seat.  There was one poll done that showed Rick within 3-4 points of Sessions, then DNC called for a deeper poll, and it came back 13-15 points off, and they bailed.   Rick's campaign paid for both those polls, not the DNC.  On top of that Rick has a day job, something Sessions disdains.

Rick had a good website, and you could sign up for  15 minutes (at least) to talk one on one with him in Zoom or by phone.   I have to credit him for working hard, and trying to include the county parties/clubs in his campaign.  Many candidates don't, and that's ok, that's a whole other discussion.

But I will defend Rick.   He took no PAC money, he spoke frankly and candidly and was always enthusiastic and available.   I am proud to call him a friend.  Rick is doing good work watchdogging Sessions.   Reach out to him.  He's always up for a good conversation.

My only Pete Sessions contribution is I don't know him, but a very GOP-politically connected friend of mine met with him at his D.C. office about 2 years ago.  She is cute, smart, and deeply connected---can get a meeting with any GOP Congressman or Senator within 24 hours in most cases.  I don't even know what their meeting was about but it was pre-scheduled and I think had to do with higher ed.  Anyway, she quickly got the impression that Pete was intoxicated or whacked out on some kinda pills.  He comes across the table to sit next to her, starts groping her leg and shoulder and asks for her help in getting the art of 'Magic' more widely recognized and funded in the United States.  I thought she was fucking with me, but she shows me the awkward photograph his staffer took of the two of them and then his myriad bills over the years to advance the craft of magic in the eyes of D.C.  She has had nothing but awkward meetings with Congressman for the last 15 years in her line of work, but she said Pete wasn't even the most inappropriate, but wins the award for the absolutely most fucking bizarre elected official she's ever met and she's met 'em all.

I stand corrected on Rick. I was invited to meet him once when he started running and was not able to attend. I knew that Pete was going to win just because of how he dominated the area with ads, billboards, yard signs, etc, and it being a very heavy Republican District.

Pete Sessions will never serve this area, accept to attend the occasional Rotary meeting and put an opinion in our newspapers about how the Democrats are destroying our country. I'll also get a letter from him in the mail right before reelection time doing the same, of course I'll throw it in the trash at the post office. He and Bill Flores, another loser in my opinion, will never be Chet Edwards who was outstanding in committing himself to our district and did a lot of great things on top of also being a great guy with a wonderful family. But that has nothing to do with it anymore. You just have to say Dems are Socialist, will take your guns away, will allow all the Mexicans into our country through open borders, will raise your taxes and . . . abortion. Show yourself walking in starched clothing with a gun on your shoulder around your farm at sunset, and foot on a tractor talking to a farmer.  Plus have an R by your name - and you're in.

Already did that; last week.

Chet Edwards was great. When we moved to Texas, we were used to being able to crossover with voting and so never voted strictly with one party. We voted for him and thought he served well. Flores was a mannequin. Pete is a crook. The locals complain and then vote in another R every damn time.

...but back to Ted. He is magma shit: steaming hot and smelly.

Well yeah but now campaign funds have been washed through the bookseller and go into Ted’s pockets where he no longer has restrictions on how he spends the money.

150k he can only spend on re-election or 25k he can spend on whatever the hell he wants and doesn’t have to report what he’s spending it on. Many people would take the $25k

More for the "Ted Cruz is a disingenuous piece of shit who argues in bad faith pile."

Quote

On balance, I believe that the better constitutional argument is that a former president can be impeached and tried—that is, that the Senate has jurisdiction to hold a trial.

Then why'd you vote against it, Ted?

Quote

I believe the Senate should decline to exercise jurisdiction—and so I voted to dismiss this impeachment on jurisdictional grounds.

This is from yesterday.  That's right.  Talking out of both sides of his mouth again to undermine the Republic for his personal gain.  Straight garbage.
