if they come back after two weeks and he starts out with any of his tired shtick about being beaten in high school, small dick, or his ugly face instead of good new material, I'm not listening anymore.

Don't forget complaining about having to come back to work.............

  • 2 weeks later...

I finally got access to the Sirius app. (I bought lifetime subscription like 13yrs ago for $500, but when the app first came out, they weren’t including my subscription in it).

So anyways, I have been catching up on the show now. I will say I really like that on the app I can pick out particular interviews to listen and not have to listen to all the BS of an entire show.

Is the sirius app for all subscribers?  I've been too lazy to look into it.  I guess I still am.

Were on two week vacation for 4th of July and came back for a week before another vacation? I’m unsubscribing. They’ve been on vacation like 1/2 of this year it seems

YEah...I was confused this morning when they were talking about the eclipse and Malcolm Young dying. Couldn't believe they were on vacation again....

It's that time of year I ease over to channel 84 anyway and listen to sports stuff.

didn't he get all fucked up and stab himself with a knife or some shit?

Yes, but Gil’s cuts over the years have sliced much deeper.

Addicted to heroin and gambling and hookers, Lange hit bottom in 2010 with a truly gruesome suicide attempt. Reaching for his fifth slice of pizza, Lange casually notes it happened in this very room. He chugged from a bottle of bleach, stabbed himself in the stomach nine times and slit his wrists.

I stopped listening a couple years ago. When is his contract up? Should be soon right?

He signed a new five year deal in December, 2015, with an additional 7 years for old content. When the current on-air deal expires in 2020, I think he keeps going, as he’d be too miserable in retirement. (Drew Pinsky actually talked about this quite a bit last week on the Wrap-Up Show. He thinks Stern is depressed, and that would get worse if he didn’t have the HSS.)

If Robin quits/gets ill, that could change the equation. For some reason, she is his muse, his reason for existing professionally

I’m glad Howard is still going. Not all bits are home runs, but it’s still usually entertaining. I never liked interviews with porn stars, so I don’t miss the shit many long for (the good ol days). Some of it is lazy (panel, relying on Ronnie for hours a day for content) but Fred is still Fred, some of the song parodies are excellent, and Stern has obvious strengths as an interviewer.

Jason Ellis doesn’t entertain me, I can’t listen to Jim Norton anymore with Sam cackling at his side, I don’t know who Covino and Rich are... so keep going, Howard.

Agree on all accounts.

Covino and Rich try to hard and the whole Hey brah, yeah brah act would never work to a big enough audience.

I will say I was pretty shocked to hear Howard admit yesterday that he cried in a meeting with Les Moonves and that nobody here posted about it. Look I love Howard and as annoying as he can sometime be he still puts on a great show but HOLY SHIT are you kidding me? A grown man crying in a meeting with a TV exec? Seriously that has to be one of the saddest/funniest things I have ever heard. I still can't believe that as big a narcissist that Howard is that he would admit that on his show.

Just crazy.

Well the show has only been new broadcasts about 3 of those 6 months. Also I am pretty sure he was gone for a month at beginning of year for his childs birth.

Richard was a big part of today’s show with the fake Robin birthday names.

Cocktober is coming up and that will be a Sal and Richard fest.

By the way, J.D.’s wedding is tomorrow, so at least one week off, maybe two coming up.

(I’ve been listening to Wednesday’s show today, and some subtle Fred brilliance: Howard asked Fred/Kaitlyn Jenner what kind of car he would be... I think it was a Knight Rider reference... Fred/Kaitlyn Jenner replied, “A convertible!” Robin got it, went over Howard’s head.)

Other than the fact he looks like a 260 pound lesbian, I guess he’s not the worst catch in the world. He sold Jumptheshark.com for seven figures back when no one knew the true value of web properties, he’s written a couple of books, hosts an NYC sports TV show and has the HS Wrap Up Show gig. While in college, he was part of a comedy team with Jon Glaser that probably upped his profile (had to help with the 90 blow jobs) and maybe helped him land his wife.
