Theres a new pizza place in Waco that has FarSide cartoons in their bathroom.   I love it.  even though I've read them before dozens of times they still make me chuckle.

After giggling and snortling at every classic Far Side comic (fuck off with that Family Circus shit) I set out to see if there was a Far Side wallpaper.  I found this instead but thought it was cool too.  It just might be my next project.

3 things that were most instrumental in shaping me and my friends' sense of humor:

1. Simpsons

2. Far Side

3. The Golden Age of parody/spoof movies: Airplane, Top Secret, Naked Gun, Hot Shots...etc.

No matter what he comments on in this contemporary age,  as someone who started a family between his retirement and this Renaissance ........ how fucking cool is this that we get to share this new stuff with our little kids ?

Calendar sales must be dipping.

The man does not need the modern human condition to draw genius. His best stuff is animals and cavemen.

With the notable exception of the trouble brewing series.

If you don't think he's been quietly gritting his teeth at hipsters for the last 25 years in Seattle, you will really be surprised then by his newest opus...

Precisely. And he's not the only one... but I'm not funny.

Because reboots always turn out well. They're new and creative, not just money grabs.

Not exactly a reboot. A reboot is retelling a story from scratch. This is more like when Beavis and Butthead came back, although very briefly. It was still good, just with different material thrown in with the same type of humor.

CSB- My kids and their friends dismiss all comic strips as “Boomer cartoons.”  They won’t read them out of principle.  Weird thing to be all strident about.

Yeah, my son wouldn't watch a black and white movie for a long time. Kids are stupid as shit at times.

Sounds like you’ve failed as a parent. Does your kid want to go to ou or a&m?

Calvin and Hobbes, Doonesberry, Bloom county, Dilbert. All national treasures.
