Always liked his music.  It's a little surprising how much of an afterthought he is at this point.  He was every bit the songwriter as folk & pop contemporaries like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Steve Forbert, etc.  Maybe not quite Carole King territory, but still relevant.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard "Leroy Brown" for the first time.  It was one of my favorite songs when I was a tyke.  Florida hotel room with one of those TVs that had a radio in it.  We were literally on the way out the door, but I demanded we to go to Disney World until the song finished.
