YES MASTER!!!!!!!!!!

That's not even a joke.  The GQP is now a sole proprietorship enterprise.  All other board members and executives have been relieved of all powers and duties.  It's Trumpco now.  This was just the final closing of the transaction.

Dibs on “Rinos & Fools” for my politics-focused improv troupe name.

we are appearing at CPAC next year.  Real edgy stuff.  Last year we did ten minutes of “Yes/And” on Lindsey Graham as a hypochondriac under ACA. Fucking killed.

I know that conventional wisdom has the opposition party typically cleaning up in midterms, but the Republicans are making it shockingly easy for the Democrats to take all of the credit should the world be back to normal by November 2022.

That might be why Republican governors are in a rush to lift all restrictions so they can use the increased death rates that result as a political weapon.

The world will be back to normal by the summer and the midterms will be a victory lap.  Republicans will run on things like Dr Suess.

yeah, not a single one of them voting for this packager that actually saved jobs is not going to endear people to the republican party. 13,000 american airlines employees will forever remember the day they were told to tear up their furlough papers.

Schools open in the fall - check

Adults vaccinated by summer - check

Stimulus money to burn when the world is open again - check

Families getting cash payments in 2021 and tax credits for children in 2022 - check

Economy humming along - check

The worst will be Republicans who try to take credit for all of that.

Economy humming along - To be determined, but Biden's economic team understands the deflationary headwinds that face the nation; Trump's team did not.

The worst will be Republicans who try to take credit for all of that.

To be fair (since the economy is in need of this stimulus) - edit above.

Now if we Dems can figure out how not to fuck it all up.

Your mistake is that you think that won't INCREASE GQP voter enthusiasm.   Racism etc.....IS the point.  The meaner they are, the more libs they own, the more their voters will crawl over broken glass to vote for them.

Never make the mistake of thinking that good political acts matter.  They do for some.....but cruelty and destruction are the product that sells to a majority of the electorate in GQP states.

Also for those who worry about decreased Dem voter turnout or increased GOP turnout in 2022:

In 2017, we already saw warning signs for the GOP in terms of Dem turnout in special and local elections.

Last night:

  • Democrats flipped a Florida mayoral office
  • Democrats flipped a GOP seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors
  • Democrats held a State Senate seat in Maine by 40 points, which was 24 points better than Biden's margin in the district

It still appears Democrats are engaged and Republicans are not.

We will see how Democrats do in the Congressional special elections to really determine how engaged they remain:

  • LA-05 race on March 20 (1 Democrat, 9 Republicans, 1 independent and 1 no affiliation running) - they got locked out of the 2020 race and lost the 2018 race 67-30.
  • NM-01 race (date TBD), won in 2020 58-42
  • TX-06 race (May 1, 2021), lost in 2020 53-44 and 2018 53-45 (4 Democrats and 8 Republicans running)

Reminds of the time Elizabeth Warren slipped an amendment in the defense bill to rename all the confederate general bases and then voted against the defense bill knowing the amendment would stick when the bill passed.

The big difference here is Warren didn’t immediately try to credit claim afterwards like this guy.

Republicans next year:  DEMOCRATS PUSHED THROUGH A SHITLOAD OF ECONOMIC RELIEF MONEY AND SAVED YOUR JOBS LAST YEAR!

Democrats:  Fuck yeah we did!

The enthusiasm goes up for a continually shrinking number of people. I’ll take that

We’re going to get so many victory laps on this. The bill is good, it helps a lot of people, but I’m picking up a bit of a “mission accomplished!” vibe I’m not cool with.

YUP.

Vegas, Denver, Philly, Atlanta.  You know Biden/Harris will end up somewhere in Arizona, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Florida.  A stop in New Hampshire too.

Hit all the places that have big 2022 Senate races.  Own the bill, don't shirk away from it like Democrats in 2010.
