Yeah, I’m going with just that stupid.

If you’re getting a bunch of emails from Twitter constantly and you don’t want them, all you have to do is change your account settings.

His lawyer in this suit has an earthlink account as his primary email, ffs.

HE DID THE INTERVIEW FROM A BARN WHILE SUING ABOUT A PARODY ACCOUNT THAT POSES AS HIS COW LOL

Devin Nunes is an extremely stupid person, but even he isn’t stupid enough to not foresee this reaction. He’s just harassing critics because he can, and maybe as part of a larger long-term strategy to change the  current law protecting speech against public figures (which Thomas recently indicates he wanted to revisit).

This.  It's part of trump's campaign promise to reopen libel laws.  Hell, look at trump's press conference today when he made up shit about collusion between social networking sites.   This is why Kavanaugh specifically was so important to trump.

Edit to add: Even if they don't succeed in making new law on this (and they probably won't), they'll succeed in chilling people from criticizing them on social media, due to the costs of attorneys to defend these ridiculous lawsuits.  The goal is to harass critics and stop future criticism, after people like Devin Nunes' cow have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to defend against this bullshit.

Devin Nunes Threatens Defamation Lawsuit After Reputation Ruined By His Official Twitter Account

Spoiler

eybxzrquxcxipr1zrf82.jpg

WASHINGTON—Vowing to fight tooth and nail against what he called “an insidious smear campaign,” Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced Wednesday he was considering filing a defamation lawsuit against his official Twitter account for ruining his reputation. “The figure behind @DevinNunes has disparaged my good name in what appears to be a highly coordinated effort to make me look like some kind of whiny, impetuous idiot,” said the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking member, who accused the verified account of repeatedly posting and sharing content that has portrayed him as “a crackpot with abhorrent views” since the profile was first created in 2009. “The fact that Twitter has allowed this account to exist for nearly a decade is a major testament to the platform’s left-leaning bias. They’ve stood idly by and watched while my official account has spewed out nothing but drivel and lies. This is character assassination, pure and simple.” Nunes added that hopefully the lawsuit would serve as a stern warning to other outlets that have smeared him, including his official Facebook account, his official campaign website, and Nunes.house.gov.

Just a reminder -- Virginia has an anti-SLAPP statute that, while not as strong as in other cases, allows a defendant to recover attorneys fees against a plaintiff who brings a non-meritorious claim.  And because he is a public figure, a defendant is immune regarding matters of public concern that would be protected under the First Amendment that are communicated to a third party.  Effectively, he has to overcome the NYT v. Sullivan standard, AND satire exceptions.

You're a politician.  People make fun of you and say that you were born with your head up your ass.  That's not actionable.

And fuck, in Nunes' case, the "truth is a defense" might fuck him as well on the "born with his head up his ass."  The other thing that defense does is open up the whole fucking world of everything he's done with respect to his Trump fellating.  I volunteer to help draft the requests for production.  And of course, the deposition notices for his buddies.

This little wussy is trump's puppet....he did not do this on his own.

Lolololololol

The Fresno County Republican Party canceled plans for its Lincoln Reagan dinner next month featuring Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Tulare, as its keynote speaker after social media calls for people to crash the event.

The event was removed from the Republicans’ website and Facebook on Thursday.

It’s unclear if the social media frenzy led to the GOP’s decision. Chairman Fred Vanderhoof could not be reached for comment on Friday.

Several tweets called for Fresno-area residents to flood the event and “moo” at Nunes – a reference to Nunes’ decision to sue Twitter, a Republican political operative and two parody accounts including “Devin Nunes’ cow” for $250 million earlier in the week.
