If I caught Gideon, and was going to make him a prisoner, breaking all of his fingers would be part of the deal.

Does he replace his rifle? He still has some of the ammo.

When Gideon talked about the DS and Bo was glaring at Mando my mind couldn’t help but wander to the Monte Python line about watery tarts.

Cut off his hands and his dick just to be safe.

Ok reading through here I realize I’m not the only 30something dude tearing up during this show. But fuck it was so good.

Cant wait for next season. Mando is in quite the pickle with that sabre sitch.

You weren't the only one. I saw the X-wing dock, the very obvious hood hiding the face, and the green lightsaber, and I found myself momentarily unable to speak. I was so, so, so fucking disappointed with the last two SW movies, I didn't want to let myself believe that the guy wrecking shop in that ships hallway was the Luke we all wanted to see. And then it was, and I was STOKED. God that was awesome.

We talked about it in another thread but, like Bo Katan, Sabine's voice actress could do it

Best part?  She is a UT grad and huge Longhorn football fan.   Word has it, she lurked on shaggy. No idea if she is here.

That chick is hot, but she doesn't look like Sabine.

Anyone ever play that PC game back in the day called Tie Fighter? I remember fucking loving that game

Tie Fighter and Defender of the Empire are my all time favorite video games. Loved the Empire point of view, and loved the Imperial fighters. Especially the tie defender. Nothing like taking out Star Destroyers!

That was awesome.

I'm not as big a Star wars fan as my wife and she was completely losing her shit. Then she asked me to pull up a picture of Kathleen Kennedy on my phone, which I did and she proceeded to SPIT ON MY PHONE. Then she meekly apologized to me and said she couldn't help herself.

This but I think earlier he had dropped it. Found himself near it during the fight, picked it up, used it.

Yeah he dropped it when the first Dark Trooper hit him through the door and knocked him backwards. You can see it on the ground after he gets up.

So will we get Sabine in Mando season 2 or in Ahsoka season 1?

Either way they'd better cast someone super fucking hot.

Seems like the most logical thing is that the Ashoka limited series will include Sabine and it will be about them searching for/finding Ezra with very likely some Thrawn crossover.  Wouldn't surprise me if they bring back Ashoka to Mando one more time, introduce Sabine and then use that as the setup for the Ashoka series.

It will build up to a large scale Avengers type movie/series with the 3 factions (Rangers, Mandos, Ahsoka + Sabine) combining to fight Thrawn and rescue Ezra.

While possible, I wouldn’t be surprised if ezra snd thrawn joined forces out in wild space.  Thrawn isn’t necessarily evil like the emperor. His is pragmatic and only joined the empire to protect his people from an unknown threat.

plus Thrawn is so smart he could probably convince anyone to join his side if given enough time.

Couldn’t figure out how to spoiler on mobile browser.

Stuckmann’s S2 review is pretty good. I don’t have as much issue with the de-aging CGI as he does. It was pretty obvious when I first watched on a 90” screen,  but subsequent viewings on normal sized TV didn’t make it look so bad.

Other than the mouth when speaking, the CGI was solid. If Luke had been recast, then there would just be something else for critics to bitch about so you might as well do what you want and move on.

My comment to my wife and kiddo was I wondered if Mark Hamill wouldn’t get rid of his facial hair and it caused problems like Henry cavils Superman reshoots.

I had no problem with it but I also thought Tarkin looked amazing and Leia was pretty good in R1.

Sebastian Stan would have been good for a probabe one episode appearance

I am fine with the CGI as well.  The mouth has always been a problem, the Corridor Crew have talked about it in a lot of their breakdowns of various CGI effects.

If they had went ahead and cast Sebastian Stan as a young Luke, that would have leaked out.

And there is a very real possibility that they had a stand-in actor/stunt double for the bridge scenes, and none of the actors on the bridge would know who they were actually facing, other than "a Jedi".

What was fun also was notice how it was an all chic strike force that went in? It wasn’t some forced in your face event. It did not require Mary Sue characters. It just happened. Which could be interpreted as a kind of a Fuck You to the last trilogy.

Most of the Wokons will never have the nuance to understand it's not as much that people don't like strong women ... they don't like Mary Sues ... I can love Jyn and hate Rey and there is no underlying racism, sexism, homophobia, anti-Islam, etc.

The ending was about perfect. As noted, that was the Luke I was looking for after the opening of ROTJ. We never saw him but the dithering old recluse. I'm with the others that just pretend The Mandalorian is the sequels and the last three movies were bad jokes.

Yeah, she green-lit the show, hired Favreau, and promoted Filoni. If you rightfully criticized her for the ST, you have to give her credit for the Mandalorian.

Giving her credit for keeping Filoni the guru of cartoon series (and only Star Wars tv series) and pairing him with the Marvel/Avengers guru is like giving Phil Jackson credit for letting Pippen toss it to Jordan for the game winning shot. She’s a zen master.

Quote

Several directors were considered, including David Fincher, Brad Bird, Jon Favreau, Ben Affleck, and Guillermo del Toro;] after a suggestion by Steven Spielberg to Kennedy, J. J. Abrams was named director in January 2013

Again the problem was they went in without a cohesive story for the trilogy and basically let the directors do what they wanted resulting in the convoluted shit show.  People like to point at the Marvel method for success but that that point the Phase 1 individual films outside of Iron Man were only moderately successful even tho they culminated in one of the biggest movies of all time. Phase 2 then had 2 good movies and a disappointment in Age of Ultron. It wasn't until phase 3 where they hit their stride and had a consistent hit rate.

So is the thought that ahsoka found out Thrawn's location in Mandalorian s2 then comes epilogue of Rebels where goes and gets Sabine, then we'll have her own mini series where she goes and finds Thrown and Ezra?

I'm thinking Ahsoka will start with an original story element, more jedi lore stuff, that results in her making some kind of ascension on her personal path / gathering info on Thrawn/Ezra.

Similar to Gandolf, from the grey cloke we saw in Mando to the white one at the end of Rebels. There is definitely a plan / answer behind that difference. Filoni doesn't paint a wall a new color in his shows without it having some purpose later. He is absolutely gonna Gandolf the hell out of Ahsoka.

I just want to say fuck Grace Randolph.  She's still doing this "Mandalorian is in trouble, issues with Pedro unresolved, Boba Fett show proves Mandolorian is taking a break!"

This is the same shitty vlogger that claimed that Pedro was about to bail in season 2, so they rewrote the last 4 episodes so that his character had little screentime, and instead played up other characters.

You know, the last four episodes.

  • Episode 13 - He takes the child to Ahsoka, he helps Ahsoka speed up her time table throughout the city, kills Michael Bien, frees people, and he gets put on a quest with the child and is given the Beskar spear
  • Episode 14 - He takes Grogu to Tython, and half the episode is focused on him running around trying to either protect Grogu from what he thought was a threat in Boba and Fennec, or getting through the force shield, then gets his ship destroyed, recovers the spear and The Ball, and Boba and Fennec swear their allegiance to him
  • Episode 15 - Most of the episode is about him and Mayfeld getting into the Imperial complex, and is focused on him letting his guard down (i.e. no Mando armor and helmet) and developing him a lot farther along (i.e. proving he'll do anything to save Grogu).
  • Episode 16 - Hmmm...he goes and convinces Bo Katan to join them, he is the only one who fights a Dark Trooper besides Luke, he defeats the Big Bad Boss and wins the Darksaber, making him heir to the Mandalorian throne.  And the episode itself ends with a long-ass goodbye between him and Grogu.

Yeah Grace, they kind of fucked up taking Din out of the picture and playing up other characters instead.  Maybe should have had Bo go toe-to-toe with a Dark Trooper instead, not to mention Gideon so that she wins the sword and goes back to Mandalore.

Methinks you’re overthinking it. It all looks grey to me, and it’s gotta be hard to color match between animation and live action.

Bill Burr has been great this season.

I was wondering what happened to Simon Kassiandes' character? Did he die in an episode before and I missed it?
