Big weekend according to reports

Had dinner at Oscar's Saturday night then walked down Fremont St. after. I've never seen it as busy as it was that night, could barely navigate the crowd and no way to find a table.  Lot's of $1,400 checks spent this weekend.  Hoops on The Strip was a great set up this year, very fun.  I've also never seen Vegas that trashy, cheap rooms and cheap flights I guess.  Hope that clears up before my next trip.

Would probably want to narrow down the atmosphere you are looking for and then decide.

STK at Cosmo for partying and hot girls and music blasting and average food but you don’t really go there for the food.

Jean Georges at Aria is really nice. Prime at Bellagio has a view of the water show.

TBH I will have to defer to others as I generally don’t frequent all the steakhouses in Vegas. There are a lot of choices.

Rio update:

The off-Strip Rio Las Vegas will undergo a multi-phase renovation project in which the property’s 2,510 hotel rooms and suites will be rebranded by the Hyatt Hotels Corp.

In a statement Thursday, Rio owner New York-based Dreamscape Companies did not reveal a cost for the renovations. An outside spokesman for Dreamscape said the resort would retain the Rio name.

The initial focus will be converting a 1,500-room tower into a Hyatt Regency hotel. The remainder of the Rio’s guestrooms are expected to be branded or affiliated with one or more of Hyatt’s brands after they are renovated. Current plans contemplate a phased renovation without having to close the property.

The property’s current public spaces, including gaming, retail, food and beverage, spa and fitness, and pool recreation deck, will also undergo redevelopment.

A time frame also not disclosed.

Dreamscape acquired the Rio in December 2019 from Caesars Entertainment for $516.3 million. Caesars continues to operate the hotel-casino under a two-year lease agreement that pays Dreamscape $45 million a year.

We were in Vegas last week for opening weekend of March Madness. Had dinner at Momofuku one night and Gordon Ramsay Steak the next. Both were absolutely incredible.

Also had a couple light lunches at Water Grill in Caesars. Quick in and out for some raw seafood.

Prime was a huge letdown a year pre-Covid, echoed by a couple different people on the old board. I screenshotted my own experience responding to one other, but further down that Vegas thread others chimed in with similar lackluster experiences.

Four major Las Vegas casino companies now are offering on-site COVID-19 vaccinations to their employees.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Red Rock Resorts will begin immunizing employees early next week, said Greg Cassell, incident commander for the Southern Nevada Health District’s vaccination rollout.

MGM Resorts on Tuesday began offering 3,500 doses of vaccine per week to its employees at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

On Thursday, Caesars Entertainment will begin vaccinating as many as 10,000 of its local employees throughout the month of April, according to the company. The partnership with Albertsons supermarkets will span four events, beginning at the Rio.

More details about the two newly announced vaccination events were not immediately available.

Haven’t heard anything on that place. I’ve been the other direction and played both courses (Fazio designs) at Primm Valley a long time ago and they were nice. Report back and let us know how it is.

I really like the Primm courses. They are fun. Have a buddy that's a member at shadow creek so trying to take that shot as well but not holding my breath.

Headed down the end of May for a golf trip. Anyone been out to coyote springs? I've heard really good things but just wondering if it's worth the drive.

Played out there a couple of years ago. It was fun but there wasn’t much of a clubhouse or anything. However, if I could do it again I would have gone a bit farther to Wolf Creek

Bringing back serious old school Wynn/Encore memories from back in the day when that place was great before they forced Steve out.  Damn you #metoo movement.  Damn you!
