What are the best couple of steak houses on the strip? Thank you.

Seen several recommendations already, but I'll chime in a bit.  All of the top end places are great (and I've been to several) with minor differences between them.  My personal rankings:

-SW, especially if the weather is pleasant enough that you would want to sit lakeside.  Chili rubbed ribeye for 2, medium rare is what the bride and I get there.

-Bavettes at Park MGM is outstanding. Opened in 2019.

-Old Homestead at Casears is a NYC import, and I enjoyed it. At the time they had on the menu doughnut bread pudding that was fantastic.

-Prime is great, but the last time we went they overcooked my ribeye, so it soured me a bit.  Rest of the meal and service was top notch.

-Gordon Ramsey's place at Paris has great marrow, if you are into that.

-The Steak House at Circus Circus is good, as is Golden Steer.

There's plenty of choices for  a great steak.

Long-time executive chef Stephen Hopcraft brings his renditions of dishes, all served a la carte, including an eight-ounce wagyu flat iron steak with a fried egg, shaved truffle crispy potatoes, and truffle buttered brioche for $48; lobster and eggs Benedict with baby spinach, poached eggs, and caviar Hollandaise on a toasted English muffin for $39; a hot chicken and waffle made with a fried hot chicken thigh over buttermilk waffles served with pickles, coleslaw, and a maple barbecue sauce for $28; an egg white omelet with roasted pepper relish, caramelized onions, avocado, sauteed spinach, mushrooms, Emmental cheese, and baby green leaves for $27; cinnamon French toast made with brioche and topped with berries, cream cheese icing, and maple syrup for $25; and eggs and avocado on toast served on grilled sourdough bread with smashed avocado, cilantro, poached eggs, jalapeño, extra virgin olive oil, and toasted pumpkin seeds for $28.

STK also plans to serve bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys for $35 per person.

The brunch takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For reservations, call 702-698-7790.

This disrespect  being shown to The Great Billy Idol needs to cease immediately.

Yeah that wasn’t the point, Vinny!  Point is that...Billy Idol isn’t better than Billy Joel...or Billy Joel is best...or for $30 you can have both...in Vegas...or @Scraps can’t read...or...fuck if I know 🤷‍♂️

If I can have Billy Idol as my appetizer and Billy Joel as my entree that’s a good night.

I’ve been many times to the Giada restaurant and really like it. It’s a nice space with great views. The tasting menu is a good way to go also.

She is frequently at the restaurant on Mondays and will pop out during early dinner sessions. My friend’s mom was able to meet her that way and take pics.

Stadium update:

MGM Resorts president and CEO Bill Hornbuckle said Saturday the company is working with Gov. Steve Sisolak to open Allegiant Stadium at full capacity.

“I know this fall we’ll have a full stadium for the Raiders,” Hornbuckle said. “I’m hoping by July Fourth weekend the community is in a place where we can just do what we normally do and have some fun.”

If Allegiant Stadium gets the green light to operate at full capacity by July, the first major event on the stadium’s calendar is a Garth Brooks concert on July 10th. The concert originally was scheduled for February 2020 and sold out the 65,000 seats within 75 minutes.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said last month the league expects that stadiums across the country will be operating at full capacity.

“All of us in the NFL want to see every one of our fans back,” Goodell said. “Football is simply not the same without fans. We expect to have full stadiums in the upcoming season.”

I just got back from a weekend trip to Vegas. We stayed on Fremont on this trip so I can’t comment on the strip but if the crowd size on Fremont was any indication, the Strip was probably unbearable. So many people. So many drunks looking to fight. We went 3 weeks ago and stayed at the Delano. The crowds weren’t nearly as bad on that trip. Make your dinner reservations early. Everything I saw on this trip was at least a week out.

I'd imagine it has less to do with the 3 weeks later part and a lot more to do with the fact that there is a little difference in the clientele from wherever you were at on Fremont to the Delano?

Good point. You mean to tell me the Delano doesn't allow people to walk around in jorts without a shirt on while sipping on a yard of pina coladas?

Police say a Las Vegas woman who accompanied two men to their Strip hotel rooms stole expensive luxury watches from both in what are believed to be prostitution-related thefts.

Windy Rose Jones, 23, was booked Monday at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of felony grand larceny.

Arrest reports for Jones indicate she was taken into custody after two men reported to police the thefts of watches from their hotel rooms at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in February and March. One watch was valued at $45,000. The second was valued at $37,000.

In the first case, police were called on Feb. 21 by Cosmopolitan security to the hotel for a man reporting he was “the victim of a grand larceny and possibly being drugged,” police wrote in an arrest report for Jones.

The man told police he met a woman named “Rosa” inside the Cosmopolitan near the Vesper bar at the property. He then went to his room with the woman, and they drank margaritas.

“While he and Rosa were in the room waiting on the room service (he) claims that the topic of sex was never on the agenda or part of the conversation,” police wrote in the reports.

The man said “he does not remember much of the night due to falling asleep shortly after finishing his margarita,” police said. The man also told police “Rosa may have drugged him.”

He awoke the next morning to find $1,500 in cash missing from his wallet. His Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch worth $37,000 was also gone. The man told police the woman had distinctive tattoos, including a lion tattooed on her thigh.

In the second case, a man told police that on March 24 he met a woman on the Cosmopolitan casino floor. He invited her to his room and ordered room service. He noticed the woman had a large lion or tiger tattooed on her leg, police said.

He awoke the next day to find his Rolex Daytona watch worth $45,000 and iPhone 12 missing. He also told police he may have been drugged.

Police said as part of their investigation they examined “multiple photos of Jones from multiple prostitution related ads on the internet.”

“The photos showed Jones with a large lion tattoo on her upper leg,” police wrote.

Jones was arrested by Las Vegas police April 4. She declined to talk to investigators and asked for a lawyer. Police said in her arrest reports that they documented the existence of a lion tattoo on her leg as part of their investigation.

Criminal complaints have not been filed in either case. Jones is currently out of custody. She is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court in both cases in May for a status hearing on the filing of criminal complaints.

I’ll give her credit, she has one of the hottest mugshots I’ve ever seen.

Some of my buddies on various trips to Vegas have gotten drugged at the Rhino, so there’s no doubt it’s a common game there that works pretty well.

Twenty-year veteran P.F. Chang’s returns to the Las Vegas Strip after a five-month renovation of its flagship location at Planet Hollywood Resort. The restaurant spent the majority of 2020 shuttered, first due to the pandemic and later undergoing a pricey remodel of its 10,000-square-foot, two-level space.

The flagship for its global restaurant empire allocated an estimated $685,000 in construction costs alone to overhaul the main dining room with multi-level seating for 400 diners, a 20-seat private dining room, and an open-air patio with fire pits facing the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the Bellagio.

The menu continues to offer perennial favorites of chicken lettuce wraps, orange beef, and Sichuan shrimp, but the Strip location will introduce “theatre at the table” presentations, allowing customers to upgrade certain entrees and desserts with smoke and fire along with dishes exclusive to Las Vegas later this year.

Wearing Swatch watches and eating at PF Changs?  Damn, this pandemic has really hit Vegas hard.

Haha. In all my trips I think I ate once at that PFChangs maybe because I had a gift card I needed to use. Only reason for the update is because it is a big space that sits right on the Strip so it’s noticeable.

My go to spots are usually Noodles at Bellagio, Lotus of Siam, and Noodle Asia at Venetian.
