There is no way those rumors don't hurt him. The world shouldn't be like that but in many places, it still is.

Agree.  Also, for those that don't care if he is gay, it's just another bullet in the gun for the "He only wants power and he will lie about who he is or what he believes for that power" crowd.  Hurts him from both sides.

FWIW, I think the SC appointment helps Lindsey.  He's running behind Trump in the state, so I assume people would look at him more favorable if he was more like Trump.  Being a duplicitous fuck is more like Trump. It should turn some of those split tickets into straight party votes.

What happened to the escorts that were gonna drop the bomb?   I know they had a non disclosure contract but surely that doesn’t cover illegal activities.  Maybe Bloomberg can set up a legal trust fund for them so they can go ahead and  spill the beans (not those beans Lindsey!)

Her campaign stinks.  I’ll still vote for her and hope she only loses to stale cornyn by 7-8 points, but she’s not good and she’s not winning.

I saw an ad for her about an hour ago and it was the same “shooting at the taliban while hanging from the helicopter” story. She’s not as bad as lupe Valdez, but man we have got to improve our statewide candidate quality.

Far as I can tell, they really only just started running ads in the last week or so. I like her, and I’m absolutely voting for her, but I don’t think the money has been there to defeat someone like Cornyn (who I’ve voted for in every election even though I voted mostly democratic in every other race). Hell, I was a huge Beto supporter, but at the time, I can’t say 100% that I would’ve voted for him over Cornyn. But now? Absofuckinglutely. Those of us on here pay attention far more than the general public, so I think those folks needed a full on blitz to get over the name recognition bump. There’s still plenty of time, but she needs a lot of money and a bit of luck. Worst thing that can possibly happen is for all of us to give up on her now and cause donations to dry up. Talking down about her campaign is a guaranteed path to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

She has had money, if I’m not mistaken. For awhile now.

I still wonder about the blackmale angle as well.

And the irony is that Graham probably wouldn't be having his election problems if it were somebody else in office.  Guy won by almost 17% in his last election.  That's a massive turnaround.

Really? Can he not cast a vote for Harrison because he won't be in the state lines?

He will no longer be a resident of SC, and will be a full-time resident, and homeowner, in AL.  I assume that if you don't live there, you cannot vote there.

Everyone in South Carolina can vote absentee for this election. They passed a bill saying so 6 days ago.

I would assume hegar doesn't have a lot of cash on hand so TV ads may be coming closer to the election. At the end of the day, her best and only chance to win is for enough Texans to have enough of Trump and any Republican. If Hegar can just put a face to the name and have people think positive about her, she might have a chance.

I feel like there’s a time period associated with that man. I’d look into it. Like where did he file his 2019 taxes from?

Probably Louisiana.  That's where he was living, IIRC.

He's military, if you're wondering.

It just seems logical that if he's a full-time AL resident a month before the election, AL is where he should vote.

Dude, I don’t think that’s cut and dry logical at all. I’d look into it. Have him call a military service office. They should be bale to tell him for sure. If he were in VA he’d be voting already.

Maine senate has shifted to lean Democrat according to Sabato. The people of Maine need to understand that they are better served having a Democrat than a republican senator. Just get rid of Collins. She made her bed when she confirmed kavanaugh.

that little pussy Lindsey Graham’s seat has shifted from likely to lean republican. Although, Sabato did say the Supreme Court fight will probably benefit him.

maine 2nd district also moves to a tossup in the electoral college. Gives Biden another chance to get that last electoral vote if he needs the Clinton states, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona path to win. Either Nebraska 02 or Maine 02 would put him over the top and he has a good chance to get at least 1 now.

Flip side: Trump is hurting him.   He won by 16 points in 2014.   He shouldn’t have lost that much ground in 6 years.

Cook Political finally moved Hickenlooper to a lean over Gardner.  They say they are slow to do so against any incumbent.  So now that makes them as a D pickup of 1 (McSally/Gardner plus, Jones minus).  They still haven't moved ME or NC out of tossup, but suggested ME would be the next to go.

Collins will be given permission to speak out against the SCOTUS nominee and support any vote to allow the next President to decide. Her vote isn't needed and Mitch will agree it is better to let her disagree with the party line.

It won’t help her. The partisan nature of Maine is against her. I’m sure the vast majority of the people in Maine are now reminded of her vote on kavanaugh. It should come back to bite her.

McConnell and Collins have played this card one too many times - I don't think anyone believes her, given she only goes against Mitch when it doesn't matter.  Hopefully Gideon has saved some money for ads to hammer her on this.

Fuck you, Lindsey Graham.  Eat shit and die.  This whole year just might be worth it if Lindsey Graham gets bounced.  He legitimately loves being a Senator.  Fuck him.

The sad part is he fucking sucks ass at being a senator. Everyone knows it but him.

From what I understand, there's some apathy towards him in SC business circles.  Over the years dating back to when he was in the House, he would frequently come back to district and later in the Senate, travel the whole state extensive.  He was always there and always available if not.  Last 5-10 he's been more interested in dropping to his knees for McCain and Trump to stay relevant in the Beltway and TV shows and rarely comes back to the state anymore.  He's never had a difficult race so he's never had to.  He likely didn't expect this to be one, either.

Presumably this will inspire Pence to require genital exams for boys to compete in high school sports.....because you know....he's all about equality. Probably launch a pilot program in DC to work out the uh.....kinks.

Not sure if serious but that’s stupid.
Sports should be girls only division and highest level of competition division. The highest level of competition division will 99,999 out of 100,000 be all male if it’s based upon inherent athletic traits. But if a girl wants to compete and can compete with boys good for her. It’s absurd to go the other way and think a boy should be able to compete with girls, obviously.
A bill protecting biological girls in their sports is fair minded in my opinion, but if society wants to allow transitioned girls born boys to compete I’m not going to make it my mission to stop them, but my sense is it’s an unfair advantage. That being said it’s a pretty small sample size at this moment, so if you wanted to wait it out and see if this took over women’s sports I’m ok with that I guess.
But the main point of this is to say girls should always be allowed to compete with/against boys if they want to and are good enough.

Let me dumb it down for you. Pence wants to inspect the genitals of teenage boys.

It's pretty funny that the "get mitch" donation gives money to 12 Dems, but doesn't include McGrath.

I just matched your donation.

Damn it, I've already given them  several hundred since RBG's death, but now I'm inspired to give again.  I wonder if we can get dotard's campaign to honor that 500% match.

Agreed - she's been playing this war hero thing for a long time, and is still polling well behind Biden in Texas.  She needs to do some attack ads that strap Cornyn to Trump (which shouldn't be hard) and hope that she and Biden can ride the wave of new D voter registrations to victory.
