the actual picture shows no flush available and someone has 4x showing.

but the guy who took the picture says that each of them won 1 board.

how the fuck can someone only win 1 board and not the other when there is no flush and the board ended with the same pair ?

its either boat over straight, boat over boat, or 2 pair over 2 pair.

Edit:  after some thinking the only thing I can come up with is the guy mis-spoke saying they both won one board. and instead he meant they both chopped because one guy had J8 and the other had J4 and the runout counterfeited the 8's?  or they both somehow had either A4, 84 or J4 and managed to have the same hand.

Had a small chip(s) and a chair story on Saturday at TCH......

Went there after watching the UT Baseball game and started playing around 630. Lots of people in town for SXSW, so kinda of fun playing with new peeps. Built up to +250 within the first 1/2 hr but then went kinda flop dead. Good cards preflop, but hitting nothing so the stack started to shrink. Around 930-10ish, flop two pair, and of course caller catches his one card flush on the river and then not too many hands after, flop two pair again and guy catches a one card gut shot straight to pretty much take my my stack. $450 gone. No biggie anyway as I had told the table earlier it probably best for an early night as I had left that morning from there at 430a after playing all night on Friday. Wife ( no pics) was not too happy with me when I got home Saturday morning after 5am. Oh well.

As I'm getting up, seat five offers to buy my 8 tip chips.....so now I have $8 in table chips and am not going to cash that out so I laugh and go all in next hand on A9o. I'm third to act so a couple of limpers ahead and one caller behind so a chance for a $21-22 pot. Standing up and ready to throw cards in, of course there is an Ace on the flop and a double up. Myself and the table all laugh and I have another hand to play.....99 and they hold. Up to $45.  I wait a couple of hands and play 9/10s with 2 callers and hit a flush on the river. Very next hand under the gun and another pocket pair. All in, and snap call next to me.......he confidently turns over two Jacks. Groan from the table as now about half are rooting for me, they all laugh when I show my JJ. Of course, split pot. This goes on for a bit where I can't lose and get my stack up to around $200 and can start playing a bit again.

It helps though, to flop sets.......55 and 99 almost back to back gets me back to my stack around $400-450. All of this in about a dealer and a half, so about 45 minutes. Was going to leave there but super loose  player sits next to me in seat 1 and is just donking off chips. I'm on the button with A9 diamonds and it limps around to me......fuck it, let's see a flop cheap. Flop gives me the nut flush as all diamonds with no chance of straight flush as my 9 is a blocker, and it checks around to loose seat 1 and he bets $35 into about a $20 dollar pot, just a slow call from me. Now heads up, and turn is a heart. Dude has me covered and he immediately goes all in.....snap call and guy's face goes blank. River is another diamond that neither of us needed, he had J high flush on flop.

In about an hour to hour and a half, my stack ($8), went to $1040.......I've heard about people doing this, but hadn't seen it done or done it myself in over ten years of playing. Was kind of fun. A couple of hands later I turned a King high flush but lost to an Ace high one. Racked my chips and left, home by 1.

Went to the poker room in Tyler last Friday and Saturday.  Friday was very hit or miss.  Bought in for $300 (max) and cashed out $310 after about 4 hours.  Wasn't really catching anything.

Saturday is where I made quite a bit.  I call a raise to 15 with QJo on the button - 3 ways to the flop of AK8rainbow.  I check, PFR bets $25, second to act goes all in for $40, I call the $40 and so does the PFR.  I realize at this point that if I don't hit a 10 on the turn, I am completely done with the hand.  I just go fishing.  Turn is a 10, complete rainbow board now.  I check the nuts, PFR bets $40.  I raise to $105.  He calls after about 20 seconds.  River is a brick 6.  I've got the nuts now.  I lead out for $185.  As I'm reaching out to put the chips in, he asks if I have QJ.  I say nothing and he calls about 10 seconds later and flips over pocket A's for a flopped set.  I kinda felt bad about that.

I picked up A-10o on the button and make it 15 to go after 2 limps.  Both limpers call.  Flop was 10/8/2 rainbow.  Two limpers check, I bet $25, UTG+2 then raises me to $60, late position calls all in for less ($50 or so), and I call?  Not really sure what he's doing this with other than repping a set or maybe J9.  Turn is another 10 so now I have trips but he...checks...I bet 85 and he hems and haws and physically looks very uncomfortable.  He calls.  River is a brick.  He checks and I bet $115 and he calls.  I turn over A-10 and he turns over K-10.  That's a nice one.

Picked up pocket kings in late position and raised to $20 over 4 limps.  2 callers to a very low card flop.  Checks to me and I bet $30 (all limpers called pre).  Folds to last to act and he ships, I call and turn it over and win that one.  I don't folding kings to short stacks would be a good idea.

Overall, great night.  Bought in for $300, cashed out $1,075.

post vegas trip report.  day 1. skip to the bottom for tl;dr

arrive at MGM at 1:45p on wed,  $1/2 buyin for $300. sit down, first hand , MP, get dealt JTs  I limp,  and it limps around. flop is TTx,

BB bets $10,  UTG calls, I call,  LP shoves all in for  $60  total. all else fold and I call the extra $50.  dude shoved with A7 air and drawing dead.  about 5 hands later, ive got around $375. I'm the button with 44.

5 or 6 limpers, so I make it $15 to try and thin the field as the button- instead 5 calls....

422 flop two diamonds. checks around. turn 6d . EP bets $40, there are 2 callers before I act. I make it $90 and get all 3 to call.  river is the Ad.

EP bets out $50. MP shoves for $500, Late position calls for like $100.  i obviously call for  my remaining $251.    EP folds and shows a flush with T as his high card.   MP shows  nut K flush, LP called with A2. and I takes it all.  just shy of $1100.

at this moment i came really REALLY fucking close to taking @TXSooner518 suggestion of taking a run at the $600 Venetian deep stack.  it was around 2:15 at that point, I was up almost $800. so in effect it would have been a free tourney and only wudda taken about 20 mins to get to Venetian.  but I thought that would have been just too much of a hit & run fuck you for the table, especially since I was going to be playing there for the next 3 days.

So I keep playing over next 3 hours I proceed to be active, having lots of good preflop hands that cost 15-20 to see a flop and not connecting, sitting at around $800  when Im MP  with AsKx,  UTG made it  $10 I make it  $25 to try and get my opponents to pay with bad hands. folds to BB, who calls, SB calls, UTG--- FOLDS.  Flop is AxQ6,  2 spades BB Bets $25,  SB calls, I make it $75.  SB calls,  BB shoves for $127 total. So I call.... then SB shoves for $230 total.

Dammit.   I know I am in trouble at this point, but I do have the nut runner runner chance, and AK and hey in 1/2 sometimes they are just morons. So I make a crying call for the extra $103.   SB shows AQ, BB has Q6. turn is a spade so its a serious sweat, but not to be.    Its 5:15 Im up just over $200 and Venetian has a $200 Satellite tourney  starting at 6p to get a seat to play in the $1,100 single day tourney on Thurs.  So I uber to there, pay my satellite fee. and start playing.

Would love to have lots of stories for the tourney, started with 10k in chips,  a few hands here and there, and after 1 hour I am down to only 2000 chips because I made a 3500 call against a hyper loose player, I had a bad ace with an ace on the board.  He had a higher Ace.

blinds are 100/300/300, so I shove 3 straight hands where no one called me, and I went up to 4100,  but forced to pay the blinds, down to 3400 when Im LP there is a  limp, and raise to $600, and i have KK.  I shove, get 1 caller, and take down the pot.    Ive got 7500 when Its my turn to be the BB again.  UTG makes it 1200, there are THREE callers. i look down at AA as the SB.... and obviously shove.  UTG (table chip leader) reshoves, all else fold.   Hes got JJ.     Lets get some rungood!!!!!!

J on the flop, and poof,  satty dream is done.   mother fucker.

I make my way back to MGM (venetian had the WPT tourney going so the smallest NLHE game was $5/10- way out of my budget range) ,  buyin for $300 again, play for 3 hours.  early on I double up on a set over set hand.   That caused the guy to leave and his replacement  3 seats to my left. became my nemesis.   Early in his nemosity we play a hand where Im button and make it $15 pre flop with A7, 2 callers  it checks to me on a 7-2-9 board,  I bet $20, Nem calls. turn is a K, he checks, I check. river is a 4. he bets $35 and I call.  he flips over 22.  Dammit.

a few hands later I get JQs and limp Nem makes it $11, there are 3 callers incl me.  Flop is K-J-4, it checks around.  turn is an 8.  checks to me and i bet $10.  Nem calls, all else fold.  river is a 3.  I check, Nem bets $30.... I call and he shows 44.  seriously?  fuck.

about 1 rotation later he's SB and I'm LP with AJs, and i make it $11, Nem and 2 others call.  Flop is J-9-x, with 2 of same suit, checks to me, I bet $25, Nem calls, all else fold. turn brings a low brick, he checks, I bet $40, and he check raises to $80. this confuses me, and I just call.  river brings another  low brick and Nem bets $80 again.  I call and he shows... 99.    Are you fucking kidding me?

so Im down around $290 to this guy.  when we play the next hand. Im in EP with AKo.  I make it $10,  Nem raises to $30 and I call.   flop is AK8, 2 spades.  I bet $30, he raises to $70. I call.

turn is a low brick, im thinking hes on the draw, so I bet $100. He shoves. Ive only got about  $160 left so i call. river is inconsequential. and he flips over  88.  OMFG!

So i rebuy for $300,   lose $100 where I had top top against a $100 stack (not Nem)  who shoved a flush draw and got there., so I buy another $100.  I win a medium hand worth $125 when the final hand of the night happens.

I have KK, MP, folds to me and I make it $11,  Nem makes it $30, folds to me, I make it $100. He shoves. I snap call.   He flips over JJ and I am like FINALLY!!!!!!,  except just like the fucking satellite tourney, the fucking flop has a J on it and Im felted again. fucker took me for over $1000 by hitting 5 sets on me in less than 2 hours.  How the fuck do you flop a set 5 times in 2 hours, let alone 5 times in 2 hours against the same fucking guy????????    Start of the trip down $700.

tl;dr  initally won $800 kept playing because of concern of doing a hit & run,  closed out up $200,  spent the $200 on a satellite tourney where I had my AA cracked. then turned around and played for 3 more hours and managed to lose $700 on the day by running into the same guy flopping a set on me 5 times in less than 2 hours.

Day 2 report.  skip to bottom for tl;dr

MGM has a really decent early weekday promo where every fullhouse or better hand you get, gets you a drawing ticket that they draw 4 times for $200 each starting at 7:30a, and next 3 hours after.  last 4 years Ive won over $800 on that promo.

So i get up at 4:30a, get to the game by 5:15 buyin for $300.  play a few hands am up about $60 when the first real hand happens.  Im  CO, w/ 5c6c, it limps to me, and I limp for $2.  SB however, makes it $20 and this is so obviously a huge hand that I am going to fold... except there are FIVE other callers.  Im last to act so fuck it,  I call the extra $18.

Flop comes 7c-4c, 2x.... wowzers.  SB shoves with his obvious overpair for $151.  BB agonizes for a while before he calls (hes got $500 behind) . and this didnt look like an act. all else fold. I take my time, all 3 options are on the table. there is a chance BB has a set (which after the night before was well on my mind),  I dont have a hand yet, so calling  is an option... but if the turn is a brick, am I really going to fold to a BB shove? No, still too much equity.

So I went with option 3 hoping if BB has the flush draw only, he folds for a $195 additional bet, I shove.  he agonizes again, and finally calls.... and shows KcTc.  Honestly kinda shocked he called the first bet, let alone mine without the nut flush draw.   but for once the rungood happened.

turn 5s, river 6d......   SB shows KK, and I scoop the whole fucking thing.

I play until 10:30 trying to qualify for the drawing, but it didnt happen.  leave at 11 cashing out at $985. to go watch some games. (intended to go to Aria to play in the tourney there, but met a friend at the Orleans sportsbar off the strip instead).  all I had to do was put $10 in the slot machine and play $1 worth of spins when ordering to get a free drink....  Got back to the casino at 4p and started playing again.

Bought in again for $300, after an hour I had about $625 in front,  (nothing memorable, other than a large bluff to take down a 5 way called pre-flop $25 bet.) when this hand happened. Villain is your absolutely stereotypical NYC Italian. hes a fucking loudmouth cocksucker with a horrible accent and thinks hes the shit.... ok fine.  we played together about 3 hours in the morning, plus the last hour here.  He overvalues any ace or draw, and overbets the shit out hands when he hits either of those.  Hes won most of the small battles of me C-betting $20 into a $40 pot and he then pops it to $100 and of course Ive missed so I have to fold.

Finally get a good hand where Villain (sitting with almost $900)  makes it $20 to go UTG on a straddle hand.... this is a lot higher than his normal leadout especially early.  MP calls his $20, and I look down at AKs in LP, and Im not having any more of this shit, I make it $100 to go.  however in a surprise move, the straddle calls the $100, so does Villain, MP folds.  Straddle is an obvious March Madness tourist and doesnt seem comfortable with the call, hes only got about $500 total so this was a big call for him, but I read weakness rather than disguised strength and he hadnt been on the table long enough to know that V was a lunatic and try and trap him.

Flop comes AQx, with a flush draw.  straddle and V both check.  I bet out $150 straddle really hesitates and finally calls. V fucking shoves... which is basically the same shit hes done every single time ive C-bet and missed, plus he easily does this move with AJ or lower, and the flush draw.   I snap call.

Straddle  takes a little time and finally folds flipping over KQo.

V  gleefully flips over AQ.   Mother FUCKER. Hes got me covered and Ive got 2 mother fucking outs now.

Turn is a miss.  River......... BINK....... K.....    V goes nuclear.  I mean loses his shit level of nuclear.  Floor had to come over and walk him away until he calmed down.  He comes back and proceeds to tilt off the remaining $300 or so of his stack including his last $200 to the guy who had KK in the straight flush draw hand from earlier in the day (thats important).

so im sitting with around $1500.  I should leave but games are still playing and that same weekday morning promo is active weekday evenings as well, and Ive got a few drawing chances.   lose around $150 to normal good pre-flop/bad flop situations,  including pre-flop raises and C-bets.  finally get a hand where Im LP with Kh9h there were 6 limpers, and I want to thin the field, and I make it $20 (which btw, has resulted in all folding at a better than 40% rate), so its a good way to get no risk chips. But this time, everyone calls including KK guy from earlier, hes BB.

Flop comes  QcJcTs.    KK guy bets $20 everyone folds.   I make it $50, and he calls. turn is a low red brick, he bets $40, and I raise it to $100. He shoves for around  $300 more......   i mean ive got 2nd nuts here, can I ever fold?  lots of hands shove in this position, Ax of clubs,  AQ, AJ, maybe KT of clubs.  so I call.... and he flips over AK......ouch.   so he got back all that he lost against me and more once you add in the tilted guys money.

So Im down to $800 and proceed to leave after another 30 mins or so once the promo ends.     close out with $807.   end the day up almost $1200  and up $500 for the trip.

tl;dr  won almost $1k when i shoved on a flopped open end straight flush draw.  then won a $1500 pot  by 2 outing a loudmouth, and gave back almost 700 of the winnings back to the table   up $1200 on the day, and finally up $500 on the trip.

Fuck you and your gutterball seeking brethren. Got knocked out of a tourney last night on a very similar hand. I had A10, raised pf, bet big on the flop that had AKx rainbow, hit two pair on the turn, bet, got raised, went into the tank and convinced myself that he could have a lot of hands, but AK and JQ were not two of them. I push, he snaps with QJ. Drawing dead to either runner runner Q or J, and he calls a big flop bet with what he thinks is 4 outs but it is really 3 because i have one. And I'm out.

Anyone play online at Ignition? It was recommended by a friend and I gave it a try last night.

Think I still have a few bucks on America’s Cardroom. Have since moved on to Global Poker so I can play from my phone. Haven’t played a hand there in a month or so tho. Would recommend for U.S.

Heading to mint poker today in Webster. Will report back this evening when I get home. Hopefully the run good continues.

Didn’t have too much to report. Bought in for 400 and cashed out $507 after 4 hours. There was good action out there but just didn’t have much to play with. Had pocket Ks twice and won 2 smaller pots with those. I would get some decent hands preflop but wiff on the flop.

Let's try posting in the right thread!

WSOP hotels booked!  Pretty stoked, I have 10 nights with an allin of $194, resort fees and taxes included.

Staying June 1-3 at the Orleans (wanted to do Gold Coast, but it's totally full on 6/1, thanks Big 50!)
Staying June 3-6 at the Rio
Staying June 6-9 at TI
Staying June 9-11 at Caesar's in a Palace Premium room.

Never stayed at Caesar's so that should be interesting. Fiancee arrives 6/5, we really like TI, mid-level gaming and optional resort fees plus perfect location.

Main tourneys on the trip will be:
June 2 - Big 50
June 3, 4, 5, 6 - Venetian MSPT $1100 with $3M guarantee
June 5 - $1500 HORSE WSOP and/or $1500 6 MAX WSOP - fuck you guys for having these the same day
June 7 - unlikely I can stay for Milly Maker :( :( if not probably the $550 at the Wynn, great place to play
June 8 - $1100 at either V or Wynn
June 9 - maybe the $400 mixed stud $50k guarantee at the Orleans, fun!

Me and a buddy will be at Luxor from the 31st to the 8th comped.   We each had 4 nights at Luxor which we just booked back to back.  Plan on playing the The Big 50 for sure but haven't made too many plans beyond that yet.

I am at Planet Hollywood June 1st-2nd and the Rio 3rd-7th. Even with a free room at rio I’m paying 50 a night in fees.

Weird, I'm at Rio for 3 nights, and it's $109 total for resort fees and tax on a comp room.

For anyone going to Vegas this summer, http://vegas-poker-schedule.com/ is an amazing tool that you can use to look at all available tournaments, you can apply filters, create a personal schedule, click to see structure sheets, and it includes S-points, which is a measure of the deepness/slowness of a structure.

Was playing big O at APP last week and had 3c4c, top board flopped Ac5c6c. Pot and call ahead of me, I call. Turn 2c boom! i check, p1 pots, p2 calls, I pot, p1 pots, p2 folds and I call all in.

Look down at bottom board to see 9s6s5s and think oh shit, does he have me out strait flushed. Then check my hand and I have the 8s.

Scooped the whole thing, p1 had KcTc with no low. Over $2500 in the pot.

so is there something different about a omaha double bomb pot's turn and river? like is it just 1 shared card per board?

I fully understand the whole scoop of top board with nut/nut.  But how the hell did you scoop the bottom board with x,8,3,4  1 spade in your hand on a board that didnt have a low?

unless the turn card was shared by both boards, then that would make sense.

The way I have seen Big O bomb pots is it isn’t one high and one low per board. That would often end up with it taking 10 minutes to chop the pot, with people getting quartered on half the pot etc.

Instead it’s “ultimate ultimate” where 1/2 the pot goes to the highest hand made on either board and 1/2 to the lowest hand on either board.

So say I make a wheel on top board. On bottom board I have nothing, no low is possible on it, and you have a set. I still scoop the pot, bc wheel is the ultimate low hand made and the ultimate high hand made.

So if Bobs opp had made a 9 hi straight flush, he would get half the pot for high, and Bob would get the low half for his wheel.

Played in a home game last night. $50 buy in $.25/.50. 15-20 minutes in I was BB Kc2c, villian was EP. He limped in along with one other. Flop 3,8,Q rainbow. I bet the pot, villian calls, other guy folds. Turn is 2. So I have bottom pair and check. Villian goes all in. Any normal bet and I'm auto folding. I just couldn't rationalize what he's doing. We hadn't been playing long enough to have a feel for his betting patterns, so I just sat there trying to figure out what he could possibly have. I ultimately decided to call. He turned over A7, not suited and he whiffed the river. So I doubled up on a pair of 2's.

Come to find out that's how this guy played. If he was in a hand and you showed weakness he'd go all in regardless of pot size. Odd strategy.

Later, I'm on the button with 66 and villian had limped along with one other. I raise it up 4x and both blinds fold and both limpers call. Flop comes 57K rainbow. Villian bets the minimum and I raise to a normal pot size bet. He calls. Turn card is an 8. He bets the minimum again and I simply call with my open ended straight draw. River is the 4. Villian could literally have anything as his range is seemingly unlimited. He of course goes all in with his $60 because I had shown weakness when I called his small bet on the turn. I call, he actually had 77 for trips, but my straight beats him. Fun night. I cashed out for $180.

As per all things poker and gambling the sooner is correct. They play ultimate hi/ultimate low. So the best high on either board wins the high and the best low on either board wins the low.

Leads to some funny shit because about half the players don't understand.

So if the top board is 742 and the bottom board is 864 then an A3 is the best low since it's 7432A. An A2 has 8642A. Not everyone gets it and it leads to some exploitable situations. I've probably made more on bomb pots than regular pots over the last month.

Sick double scoop! I hear that game gets wild. Think I may hit up APP tomorrow...

yes, game is nuts.

kept getting rivered the following night and lost about $75. Been sick this week but will get back up there next week.

always 1-2 people at the table that have no idea what they are doing and lose all their money. The key is getting it before someone else does.

I get the excessively high mark up and the lack of results = scammer argument.  I guess I just don't see the consumers who do purchase a percentage of him as being uneducated on either point.  He is up front about the fact that he is a cash game player and not a tournament player.  Unless there is some world of consumers who back poker players in tournaments that don't evaluate ROI or prior tournament experience?
