Welcome to MAGA world Dan.

Eh, fuck him.

Trump has talked shit about so many other people and his one eyed ass was on Twitter defending him and playing stupid whatabout games.

Shouldn’t matter if the target is a dead, former POW Senator or a former Secretary of State now private citizen; be consistent about the behavior or shut up.

Yep. Fuck him. He's had his chances to stand up to Trump but didn't do it.  Now he sends off a pussy ass tweet begging the fuckstick in chief to stop fuckstucking.

He welcomes the warmth the blanket of GOP bigotry affords him now he gets lie down with the mites.

Part of the reason I want Buttigieg to be the Dem nominee is because you just know Trump wouldn't resist tweeting about it.

On the one hand you've got the decorated veteran who speaks arabic and forms coherent sentences when he speaks BUT he happens to be gay.  On the other you've got the draft dodging, pornstar fucking, Putin lapdogging liar, who happens to be heterosexual.  Which one do you think Joe SixPack in Ohio is going to vote for?

We have a lot of Joe SixPacks in this country who are married to Hilda SixPack, and they can't afford to dump her.  They dutifully attend church, where they say "amen" when the preacher talks about sinners going to Hell.

Their one brief respite from their miserable lives is when they make their annual pilgrimage to Branson with the grandkids, and while Hilda SixPack is getting moist during the Oak Ridge Boys show, all Joe Sixpack thinks about it is the teen girls manning various attractions at Silver Dollar City.  He knows that when they looked at him, they saw a sad, broken-down miserable grandfather, but he still sees himself as that young man full of piss and vinegar from back when "Elvira" was climbing the charts.

Joe looks at Trump who has went through a couple of model wives, fucked a pornstar or two, and who knows how many other women.  Owns his own golf course or three.  Can spend his days fucking around on his iPhone while he's on his gold-plated shitter, and can eat McDonalds whenever he wants, instead of eating Hilda's chicken and dumplings for the 1, 731st time in his life.  His preacher's words about sinners and adulterers going to Hell slowly fade to the recesses of his mind as he imagines some East European model blowing him and pretending to enjoy it.

He doesn't care about the Russian stuff, because as far as he's concerned, America is fucking him over.  He should have the money, the resorts, the models, etc.  It's just not fair.

Oh, there’s just as many morons here that fit the bill.

Just as there are in Texas and Florida and Tennessee and every other red state.

I’m fully capable of calling out my own. If you bothered to read any of my posts, you’d know that.

Sorry if insulting Ohio hurt your feelings.

Ohio voters suck as much as Alabama voters. Don’t get all snowflakey about it.

At least there's a chance Ohio will vote blue. Folks from the slave states really don't have any room to be critical.of Union states that might occasionally make the mistake of voting along with their own shitty ass red state voters. Yeah, Ohio might vote red in the next election. But it could be worse. We could be Alabama or Texas and there'd be no question.

I'm proud to know Ohio went for Obama. Twice. Wake me up when Bama votes for any Democrat for president let alone a black candidate. Calling out Ohio for going for Trump is approaching Republican levels of hypocrisy.

I don't know who'll win the Democratic nomination but if Sherrod Brown is the VP candidate then Ohio might be in play. Might be anyway. We all know the slave states will vote for Trump no matter what.

Thankfully, Texas is getting bluer.

I don't understand criticizing others for things you do yourself.

If Ohio is getting redder and dumber then, if we maintain that trend for another 50 years, we'll be Alabama. (Still better than you, Mississippi!) But I think you're wrong. If Ohio helps reelect Trump in 2020 then we'll vote Democrat in 2024 after 8 years of the voodoo economics scam. Again. For the third fucking time. And if and when we do, Alabama will vote for Donald Trump Jr.

How could I possibly criticize Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania for voting for Trump when my state did the same thing? How could any of us criticize the other? I don't get it. We're all doing what we can up here to turn things around. The difference between you and us is that some of us might actually be successful.

Don't get me wrong. I still love ya, sister. But seriously, worry about the log in your own eye before addressing the speck in your neighbor's eye.

We overesteem SEALS in this country. Yes, they are badasses, but should they be in elected office? To be as badass as they are, you kinda have to be a psycho....A friend of mine -- ten year army vet, combat duty in Bosnia in Iraq -- told me about going day-drinking with a bunch of them in the Old Ebbitt Grill in DC bar a while back. He said the clientele sort of recognized and saluted them as they came in, as they were recognized as SEALs. As the drinks flowed and the hours rolled by, my buddy notice peculiar thing -- the rest of the customers were picking up their drinks and moving to tables as far away from the SEALs as they could get. The stories they were telling were that psychotic and that disgusting. Bear in mind, this is coming from a guy who had to dig up mass graves of women and children in Bosnia. And they come back over here fucked up but are regarded as rock stars, which, in the limited circle of the military, they are. But I mean, look at Chris Kyle. Had he lived he'd probably be a Rep by now, even with all the ridiculous lies he told his biographers and reporters.

I'm with you on this.

When I was at Basic Officer's Course there was a guy in our company who had volunteered to fight against SWAPO "to see if he liked being in the military."  He showed us a picture of a guy he'd killed.  Death by an unusually large hole in the forehead.

It occurred to me years later that the hole was so large because it was an exit wound.  Cliff notes: he executed the guy by shooting him at close range in the back of the head.

I personally grow tired of how we think everyone who served in the military is some kind of genius.  The military is just like everywhere else.  There are some smart people, average people, and dumb asses and that's regardless of rank.  I worked at a company once where the VP and SVP I reported to were both former Army colonels and they were grade A morons.

I think it goes back to that so few people serve in the military anymore that no one really knows anything about it so we put them all on a pedestal.  In the WWII generation, damn near everyone had some exposure to the military so they knew it for what it was.  That's why they could laugh at Gomer Pyle and some such.

Not everyone in the military in some noble warrior poet.

The reason they do this is because they feel a certain level of shame that they came back while so many of their friends didn’t, especially helicopter pilots.

When I lived in Corpus I bought a used guitar from a helicopter pilot who had served in Nam.  While I was trying it out (Gibson Les Paul) I noticed a photo of a kid on a nearby shelf and a ribbon of some kind (medal award ribbon) in front of it.  I asked him about it and he said the kid was the son of another serviceman and was named after him.  Apparently he saved the dad somehow (probably connected to that ribbon).

Apocalypse Now had just come out and I asked him if he liked it or something stupid like that (I was probably 18 and didn't know what I was doing).  He demurred and said something about "man's inhumanity to man" and I quickly wrote a check for the guitar.  I concluded later he probably saw some heavy shit, and it wasn't clean or heroic like the movies.

I see he is a true GOP: irony deaf and dishonest.

SEALs have become the mythological ex-marine of the 21st Century. Just by invoking that qualification, the huge contingent of insecure-adolescentoids of the right get their vicarious he-man on. At the bottom of the adoration is the anti-intellectual thrust of "this guy can kick you ass."

I've no doubt that SEALs laugh at this jock sniffing and are quite aware that their number includes the same fractions of misguided intellects (they're not stupid people) who shouldn't be trusted running any part of the country as any other group.

I've always liked *Commander McRaven's graduation speech from 2014. It's on YouTube and I watch it whenever I need a pep talk. I'm not a UT grad so I don't know how you all feel about him, but I liked his speech.

Back to Crenshaw though, he gives me the impression of someone who has been thrown into a situation that is way over his head and he doesn't quite know whether to try and swim to shore or ask for help (something that he might not be used to doing). If I were in his shoes, I would consider another line of work. And yes, his district is so gerrymandered that Texas should be ashamed of that map.

*I believe he was a SEAL.

^^^^^ Truth.

There's a SEAL that has sent me at least two LinkedIn invites (we've never met).  He's misrepresented his academic credentials in a way that make me think that inside, he's a con man.
