Got a new mutt pup a couple months ago. Was told it was some sort of Australian Shepherd mix.

She definitely had boxer markings and hops, but clearly not boxer face now that her snout has grown. I don't know much about dogs. So no idea what kind of mix. Not seeing much Australian Shepherd

Really long legs.

Thoughts?

Damn. Not the preferred way to go out.

Yep. 10 days ago, he went on a 2 mile walk.  Then he went drastically downhill.  With the vet closed, I was having to pump 100cc of ringers in to him every day.  His kidneys had shut down but the little fucker wouldn't die.  Took him in today.  Wife and the other dog are a fucking wreck.

Underrated worst part of having to put a dog down is the effect it has on your other pups. The constant roaming the house looking for their friend, the laying the the other dogs favorite spots, the looking out the window. All of it just kills me. As if losing a family member isn’t enough.

We lost a good one today boys. Pour one out for Capt. Velcro. Just two weeks ago, he guarded the house against a vicious, red-eyed death possum. He tried to pick a fight with a playful pit and a GSD at the same fucking time. Deaf as my wife and about the best fucking dog I've ever owned. a9cd37e290e752e19f2e5f4dab4f4e7b.jpg98c4a2f77656b063908055937bfb03eb.jpgd36b0ddcca35c36bf5066d9732f26140.jpgc32efece57380003ce7f472c2cf62e02.jpg65f023dfffdcc31453ffc244c3e02fc4.jpg

Our boy, Donnie is getting up there in age, at least 10 years old. He's still just about as lively as he has ever been, which is to say not very, but I can see that it's starting to take him more effort to get up and go for walks. My wife got him before I was around and he's been there for her through many moves and multiple rounds of school, so it's going to be horrible when he passes. Hopefully he's got a few years remaining, but in the meantime we put a deposit down on one of these doberman girls to help keep him young. 426ef307b5a6961b5a1ee05d92381f82.jpg29d239851b6c6f0d5a81ea747233de3e.jpg

So about a year ago, I posted about our Morkie/Jack Russell mix Emmy who had torn her ACL. She just turned 10 yesterday. Surgery was going to be like 1200 bucks. So the doctor said since she’s a small dog, they can often repair their own ACL over time. We gave her doggie Advil and for a couple of months she limped along.

We’ve lived in our current house for 5+ years. It has wood floors, so she’s never been able to jump onto our bed. She makes a big production out of tapping her claws as loud as possible, shaking her collar as loud as possible, and the like when she wants in bed with us.

Fast forward to yesterday. We can find Emmy. She’s gone. It’s 2 in the afternoon and we hadn’t seen her since we heard her eating around noon. We call out and get nothing. Doors were closed, so she couldn’t have gotten out. We are perplexed. I go in the bedroom and find her perched in between two pillows taking the nap of her life. I can only think that her regrown ACL is like that of Henry Rowengarner from Rookie of the League and is so tight she has ups like she’s never had before.

Anyway here she is looking mildly annoyed I awoke her from her glorious bed nap.4a1df7e17e565dada87cfe966200a72d.jpg
