I hate to go all “Brisket out on the ledge” but this is the reason this country can not move forward.  The propaganda from Fox News, OAN, Breitbart, Right wing AM radio is too much to overcome.

That shit has been around for decades, going back to Limbaugh poisoning the well against the Clintons.  For instance, the problems I have with Hillary these days, are far different from the problems I thought I had with her back in the 90s - the first time I heard Limbaugh back in the 90s, I was actually in the Army, and some of the folks I was around made sure and listened to Limbaugh's show - it was must-listen radio.  Being raised Republican, I bought right into that shit.

Even with that stuff, Clinton still won re-election, and Barrack Hussain Obama, a half-black, Muslim, Atheist, Socialist, Marxist, Communist community organizer born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia, and supposedly lived in Hawaii still won not one, but two terms, one of them against a Vietnam war hero, another against a rich white guy.

And hell, with Trump off of social media, we don't hear shit from him anymore, and the groups you mention can't really amplify his message much any more, especially when most of his time is spent attacking the GOP, and telling people not to give money to the GOP, but to him.

That's one of the most awesome things to happen in the last week, is that Trump is trying to gut the GOP financially, and the right-wing media doesn't know how to handle that.

Can we just move on from the half million dead Americans (still counting) and start talking about the present and the future, which is how much praise Donald Trump deserves?  Joe Biden and Covid are so 2020.  It's 2021!  Trump time, baby!

Figured this board would find this interesting, I am not sure where to put it but this seems as good as any. This is a Facebook post/email chain that is circulating in an unnamed European country.  I've translated it directly and taken out all of the identifying language, because none of that is really important at all.  It's uncanny to see exactly how this shit is simply repackaged globally.  This could be a monologue from a Fox/OAN/Newsmax host.

Quote

What would happen if the (liberal party) won elections and (liberal politician), a junkie, became Prime Minister?

First, he would destroy everything that (populist party) worked for.  The cost of living adjustments and the refunds you received before 2017.

Furthermore, they would legalize their Antifa militia to unleash hell in (unnamed European country). Antifa would be above the police. Finally, George Soros' plan, to flood (unnamed European country) with illegal migrants.

All this is to be preceded by a fog of digital warfare.  They cannot reveal their plans right away. But you can see what it looks like in (large city), where the mayor belongs to the (liberal party). Retirees will be like game animals without any rights.  If they live alone, they will have to help house illegal migrants. They will be bullied and humiliated by young people in shops, pharmacies, and grocers.

They have committed to serve Soros and to liquidate (nationality), starting with the defenseless.  This, in a nutshell, is their program.  This is what the (liberal parties) want to do.  Does it seem like no big deal to you?

There are influential right wing radio/podcasters in Europe who basically copy Rush Limbaugh so much that it’s uncanny.  The format, the nicknames and catch phrases, the designated enemies that they always invoke to personalize things, the constant bitching about media bias and conspiracies, randomly name-dropping Soros and other bogeymen like in your Facebook example, etc.   It is all the same.  I know because my wife’s family listens to it constantly.

The most noticeable part isn’t even really as much that the arguments are the same, but rather how the tactics are exactly the same.   They have their  own equivalents of “feminazi”, “Hildebeast”, and other buzzwords that they just run into the ground like Hannity or Rush would, sometimes not even making an actual point as much as just reciting the sacred verses of grievance to string together a few catchphrases.

I still scroll around on the Aggie board on occasion, especially if BT is on a tear cause he's a funny read when he's debating with people but the buzzword usage to which you refer is a real beating to read. It just gets old. I get so tired of reading 'Soros' this and 'Bill Gates' that and cultural marxism--I can't tell if any of them actually understand the different branches of marxist theory and different systems or are just repeating ad infinitum what they watch on YouTube, hear on the radio shows, and read on weblogs and memes.

The brave new world of white males being exposed to the daily "microaggressions' (there's a buzzword for us all) that many out groups live with and have for years is fascinating and scary. How will they cope? Many of you cope just fine. You see it for what it is. But a lot of folks had never had such discomfort and they are more than a little whiny and whimpy about it.

Man, Oliver just destroyed Tucker. As mentioned earlier, I can’t WAIT for tucker to respond and have Oliver just rip him apart even more.

Has Tucker ever responded to Oliver? Oliver's nuked him so many times now.

What I wouldn't give to see a debate with those two. Such an event on PPV would rake a fuckload of cash. I wonder how much Tucker would need to be guaranteed for him to do it.

No. And he won’t. By responding, he’d only be propagating Oliver’s message.

Hed never do it, he knows he’d get destroyed. And I think you’re forgetting, he doesn’t need the money. He was a wealthy heir before he made a hundred million dollars of his own. So whats the incentive?

it’s pretty chilling when you consider Tucker Carlson does this mot for the money, but because he believes in what he’s saying.

So where does one find Bongo's, shapiro or other RW nuts shows?  I usually come across them on FB/YT video feeds but not sure if they're actually on radio, tv or if this is like some Kramer bullshit where they setup a fake set for their fantasy fetishes?

I'm not even sure he believes in what he's saying. He just read which way the right-wing winds were blowing and realized he could become popular and powerful by embracing it.

The clip from LWT where Swanson's criticizing Pat Buchanan back in the day for doing his exact same schtick - to a fucking T - would seem to support this.

He definitely adapted.  His CNN and MSNBC personas were completely different.   He’s a grifter, except he doesn’t actually need the money.   I guess he’s probably a right leaning narcissist and attention whore who mainly wants to be famous, like Trump.   Whatever keeps him in the spotlight and gets a group (doesn’t matter so much which group) to support him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has an intellectual inferiority complex, i.e. he'd rather be seen as a genius by morons than how intelligentsia would judge him (as nobody special).

That’s probably a good read.   He seems to have a pretty real chip on his shoulder about “elites”.   The racism and immigrant bashing and all that honestly comes off more like he’s playing to the crowd (which is still awful), but he seems genuine when he bitches about the intelligentsia.  And that’s probably because he failed repeatedly when he was trying to be accepted by the intelligentsia, so now he’s jilted and bitter.

Bingo. He’s not quite as stupid as trump so his pathology isn’t nearly as severe but it’s there.

I don’t think he’s a “true believer” like the insurrectionists or one of the ring wing white Christian terrorists - he’s not going to put his life or liberty in danger; he’s not that “brave” - but a human can’t say the gross shit he consistently says without believing in it to some extent.

Fox "News" show Outnumbered is full of the dumbest fucking people. Today's roundtable participants were discussing the major issue of today. Governor Cuomo's sexual harassment allegations, followed by promoting anti-mask rhetoric against Fauci the flip-flopper.

Don't get me wrong, sexual harassment allegations are serious, they absolutely should be talked about, addressed, he should resign, etc. This was discussed thorough the past couple weeks and I don't remember seeing anything new today. However, let's see what other national issues we could talk about today...checks notes....

1. 1,000 still dying a day from Covid

2. Anti-Asian hate crime that killed 8 people in Atlanta

3. which ties into the problem of white supremacism in America.

4. Stimulus Checks

5. Abolishing the Filibuster Talk which may or may not be a big deal.

6. Immigration Policy

7. The President called the head of a foreign government a killer on national TV

8. Getting children back in school.

9. What happened to talking about how great the economy is doing?

I could go on and on
